Sewage Truck Explodes Like It Had Taco Bell for Dinner

I never like to drive or park near sewage trucks. You know, the sort that people on septic systems call out when the crapper is full to slurp the disgusting sludge out of it so you can drop a deuce again. I always figure that at some point, one of the people operating the sewage truck gear will make a mistake and shit will go flying.

Clearly, I am right to fear this happening, and this video of a sewage truck literally losing its shit proves it. This nasty thing bursts open with enough force to spew turds literally everywhere.

I don’t know why I laugh so hard at this video. I can only imagine the thoughts flying through the mind of the driver of that SUV as the sewage truck blows poo all over their ride. That poor bastard will probably need to sell their car. I hope the bus driver had his window closed.

Samsung receives patent for music player that lets you add your own riffs

Samsung receives patent for music player that lets you add your own riffs

Though patents often never amount to anything, we sincerely hope this wacky one from Samsung does. It's an approved idea for a portable music player that also contains keys and motion detectors to let it function as a "musical instrument," too. While listening to that epic jam, you could play along by pressing keys on the side of the device as if you were fingering a guitar's fretboard. You'd be able to change position on the "guitar neck" by moving the player back and forth, and a motion detector on the side would sense the fingers on your other hand as you strum chords or pluck out a solo. Your GarageBand-style noodling, along with the original music would all blare through a speaker and amp combo on the device, to the amusement / horror of your friends. That's assuming Samsung ever builds one, of course -- but if not, our John Q. Engadget will be the first name on a petition to get it to market.

Karma’s Got Ebola: Man Steals Phone from Quarantined Patient – And Gets Infected

I’m sure your mother taught you not to steal when you were a kid and even as you were growing up. But guys, if you really had to steal, then be smart about it and avoid stealing stuff from people who have highly infectious diseases, will you?

Ebola PhoneAside from the fact that you could get infected, don’t you think it’s a little too mean to be stealing from people who are too sick to notice that you’re swiping their phones from their bedside table?

That’s what one Ugandan man did recently and he’s going to be paying for it dearly. After stealing the phone from a quarantined patient who’s got Ebola, the thief was subsequently admitted to the hospital himself because he also got infected. The patient who he stole from reported that his phone was missing shortly before he died.

If Karma’s as big a b#tch as people say she is, then the thief might end up sharing the same fate as his victim. The sad thing? The phone’s estimated to be worth about $23 (USD). (And even if it were worth millions, it still can’t compensate for the life of a human being.)

Now this is just sad.

Jetman soars over Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas, flies circles around historical landmarks

Why would you want to leap out of a perfectly good aircraft? To fly a winged jetpack over the city of Rio de Janeiro, of course. It sounds nuts, but it's just a day in the life for Yves Rossy, the self proclaimed "Jetman" who flew over the Grand Canyon last year. Since soaring over the Rio Grande, Rossy has pitted his carbon-fiber wings against a rally car on Top Gear, taken to the skies over Abu Dhabi and, most recently, buzzed Brazil's famous Christ the Redeemer statue. Jetman rocketed past the monument on an 11 minute flight earlier this week, beginning his journey by dropping out of a helicopter over Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas. Rossy pulled his Rocketeer trick and eventually parachuted to safety on Copacabana beach. Sound fun? Head past the break to see the man in action. Us? We'll keep our feet planted on terra firma, thanks.
