Ford Le Mans Xbox One Controllers: 24 Hours of Gaming

This weekend, developer Turn 10 Studios unveiled three custom Xbox One controllers, in time with Ford’s announcement that it will compete in the 2016 Le Mans. The company behind the Xbox-exclusive Forza Motorsport games themed each controller after one of Ford’s Le Mans cars from the 60s.

The blue controller is called 1965, after the year that Ford’s Shelby Daytona Coupe became the first American-made car to win at Le Mans’ GT class, placing 4th overall.

Forza Horizon 2 Storm Island Expansion Adds Epic, Terrible Weather

If you are a fan of racing and driving games and own an Xbox, you have probably played Forza in one of its varieties before. A new expansion pack has landed for Forza Horizon 2 that adds in a place called Storm Island.

As you can likely figure out from its name, the island has lots of bad weather. The image above is from a scene with the trees flapping around as rain comes from the side. Forest and Bubba are very familiar with sideways rain.

Naturally, the weather in the game makes the surface slippery making it harder to drive. The rain, snowflakes and wind-blown debris also fly towards you as you race and lights reflect off the pavement making it more challenging to keep your car on the road.

Of course, the DLC doesn’t just feature extreme weather. It’s got 90 new events across five new event types as players do battle across the dangerous terrain of Storm Island. Check out the videos and see what you think.

Xbox One cloud servers offer equivalent to 600 percent AI processing boost, claims Forza 5 team

Xbox One cloud servers offer equivalent to 600 percent AI processing boost, claims Forza 5 team

Microsoft already talked up how the cloud component of its Xbox One console will work, but now we're hearing of the benefits from the dev's side. The verdict is certainly positive so far, with Dan Greenawalt, creative director for Forza 5, extolling its virtues, citing it as a "tremendous opportunity" in a recent interview with OXM. His team has been using it to take care of a lot of the AI elements in the game -- such as its Drivatar system -- which he claims would usually take up about 10 - 20 percent of the console's processing power. By letting the cloud deal with it, however, it can spill out into much greater complexity, with Greenawalt claiming a boost equivalent to "600 percent" of the actual Xbox's brains. This, in turn, freeing up the 10 - 20 percent it would have used for something else. Bold statement, of course, but with the early signals looking good, this is one feature we're glad still made the cut.
