Latest ‘Futurama’ mobile game is part social sim, part retro action

I have something important to tell you: There's video proof of the latest Futurama game in development. Executive producer and series creator Matt Groening is involved, as is executive producer David X. Cohen. Futurama: Worlds of Tomorrow is "coming...

The next ‘Futurama’ mobile game has the show’s creators aboard

Futurama continues to be the animated franchise that just won't die. Fox and developer TinyCo (a divison of Jam City) announced today that they're working on another mobile game from the series -- Futurama: Worlds of Tomorrow -- which will notably ha...

LEGO Planet Express Ship: Our Minifig Crew Is Replaceable, Your Package Isn’t

I didn’t know that designing LEGO constructs in the virtual world was a thing. It clearly is because this spaceship for Futurama was designed by a dude called Nicola Stocchi using LEGO Digital Designer. The digitally-rendered spacecraft has 5112 parts and looks gigantic.

My question is if you can design this thing in Digital Designer, could you not actually build it so we can see it in its real world glory? I don’t think they make LEGO parts in that green color though – at least I’ve never seen any.

I particularly like the image that shows the internals under the skin complete with a cargo hatch that opens. Someone better build this thing or bite my shiny metal ass.

Funko Futurama POP Vinyl Figures: Bite My Shiny Plastic Ass

Futurama fans can now get their hands on a set of Funko POP vinyl figures of characters from the show. You can’t buy up the whole crew, but a few of the main characters are here.

You can get Bender, complete with a bottle of beer and his shiny metal ass, Fry, Leela, and the Robot Devil. Bender was always my favorite character.

Each of the characters stands about 3.75-inches tall and have the beady black eyes (or eye) that you expect from a Funko POP action figure. ThinkGeek has each of the four characters for $9.99 each. Hopefully, we’ll get more of the characters soon. The world needs a Funko POP Zoidberg.

LEGO Bender with Chest Cavity for Booze Storage

This is one amazing LEGO Bender. It was built by Adrian Drake aka BrickFrenzy, for the recent Brickworld convention in Chicago. This LEGO statue stands six feet tall and took about a month to build.

Adrian used around 20,000 LEGO bricks. And as a special bonus, this Bender even has a usable chest cavity for storing all of Bender’s booze and cigars. Now that is what I call a good liquor cabinet.

Sadly this Bender Booze Cabinet is not for sale, but you can always make one yourself. How cool would it be to go to Bender for all of your alcoholic needs?

The Ultimate Zoidberg Costume: Woop Woop Wear

This video comes from Tested.com. It documents the production of a life-like animatronic Zoidberg costume from effects artist Frank Ippolito. It looks pretty stunning to see Zoidberg come to life like this. It is also kind of creepy, which in this case is a compliment.

Check out the video to see how they brought this simple cartoon character into the real world and also how they got all of that amazing detail. The best part has to be the motorized tentacle bits:

Once it was complete, they took the costume to WonderCon 2014 for everyone to see and it looks like it was a hit. I would totally hang out with this Zoidberg, no matter how bad he smells.

At one point they were thinking about making him more of a scary monster. Personally, I’m glad they kept things close to the cartoon version.

Volpin Props Building Epic Futurama Planet Express Ship Models

Fans of Futurama will immediately recognize the image below as the Planet Express ship. It turns out that maker of all things awesome, Volpin Props, is working on a set of three custom-built Planet Express models, and they’re shaping up to be great as we’ve come to expect from expert propmaker Harrison Krix.

From the video posted on Volpin’s YouTube channel, we find out that the ships even have illumination built in, operated by an Arduino Pro Mini controller. Those tail lights look especially sweet.

Ok, that looks pretty awesome to me. I can imagine tiny little versions of Fry, Leela, Bender, Zoidberg, Hermes, Professor Farnsworth and Amy Wong hanging out inside, causing all sorts of interplanetary mayhem.

Great job as usual, Harrison!
