A Spot Of Geek Culture Inspired Teas

This is a series of tea inspired by characters in geeky books/movies/TV shows/etc. It’s the brainchild of Artist Cara McGee, who’s got something for everyone, with varieties from Doctor Who, The Hobbit, the Avengers and many more. Each variety sounds pretty pleasant. That is, if you like tea. And personally, I’ve always felt Tea is just a liiiiittle too fancy for my tastes. Tea is what my grandma serves when she invites her old lady friends over. Tea, and crumpets or macarons or whatever. I mean, that’s what I heard, anyway. Usually she hands me a twenty and tells me to scram, because she doesn’t want me to embarrass her in front of them. You use the wrong fork one time and they never let it go! And by “use the wrong fork” I mean “spike the tea pot.”

Etsy seller Geek Cameos Etc makes Victorian inspired cameos that feature characters from movies and TV shows… you know, instead of the standard pretty ladies that are normally on cameos. (The Voldemort one is basically the opposite of pretty ladies.) The shop offers cameo necklaces and brooch pins based on Doctor Who, Sherlock, Star Trek, and Harry Potter. Each one is handmade by artist Lisa Qui out of resin that’s been poured into a polymer clay mold. This version was designed by architect Peter Archer for a very wealthy Tolkien fan residing in the Pennsylvania countryside. It’s not a place to live, but rather a very elaborate backyard repository for the owner’s vast collection of Tolkien memorabilia.The 600-square foot building is a short walk from the hobbit-lover’s main house, on a flat stone path and through an English-style garden. With hand-crafted decor inspired by Tolkien’s own drawings, it’s an absolute dream for trilogy lovers everywhere.

If Hobbits were the size of Borrowers this is the house they would live in. Also my head would explode from all the cuteness… I mean tiny pocket-sized hairy-footed Hobbits? SO ADORBS! Anyway, this miniature Hobbit dollhouse was created by artist and LOTR superfan Maddie Chambers. The dollhouse started as a college assignment and quickly grew into an ongoing project. Chambers was already no stranger to working with miniatures thanks to her experience playing Warhammer when she decided to create the exterior of Bilbo Baggins’ home. Before she knew it she was drawing plans for a replica of Bag End from the movie and creating furniture, food and other items to fit inside.
