Gundam’s Haro Comes to Earth… as a Vacuum Cleaner

Haro was made more than a few appearances on Gundam’s anime episodes and video games, but now it has landed on earth – as a vacuum cleaner. So that’s probably not the most extravagant of appliances that it can be manifested in, but it’s better than nothing, right? Plus, vacuums are actually pretty useful, anyway.

The Haro robot vacuum is actually the product of a collaboration between Sharp and Gundam Front Tokyo. The vacuums will be based on the Sharp Cocorobo and will be available in two refreshing colors: green and pink – though it wasn’t practical to make a spherical-shaped vacuum, since that wouldn’t fit under your furniture.

These snazzy-looking robotic vacuums are equipped with Cocoro Engine artificial intelligence and come with speech recognition features. Just say the word, and the Haro robotic vacuum will do your bidding.

It’s also fitted with a camera and LED lights, and comes with remote-controlled maneuverability that allows you to control it using your smartphone.

The Haro robot vacuum will be on display at the Gundam Front Tokyo in Odaiba Tokyo, so if you’re in the area, drop by and check it out.

The mighty Kuratas gets assembled on video

DNP Kuratas

It'll cost you $1.35 million to own one, but putting together a Kuratas isn't any easier. The latest video of the monstrous mech shows it being transported and assembled. That means flatbeds, cranes and a whole lot of socket wrenches. Of course, at the end of the day, you've got a 13-foot tall robot you can climb inside. Certainly puts that Ikea bookshelf project into perspective, huh?

Kuratas, the 13foot mech unleashes your inner Ripley, costs $135 million video

Suidobashi Heavy Industries has put the finishing touches to its latest project, the 4.4-ton Kuratas. Mobile suit obsessives around the world can thank artist Kogoro Kurata and robotics expert Wataru Yoshizaki for the robot frame, which has space to house a pilot inside. The mech's touchscreen UI even includes a Kinect-based movement interface and the shudder-inducing "smile-activated" twin BB gatling guns. You can customize your own diesel-powered beast in the dystopian gang colors of your choosing, but be advised: the $1.35 million price tag doesn't include further customization options like a faux leather interior, cup holder or phone cubby. The Kuratas does, however, come with the ability to make phone calls direct from the cockpit, so you can tell your enemies that you're coming for them.

Gundam-Themed Hotel Rooms Meet Every Gundam Fans’ Needs

Hey, Gundam fan. Yes, you – I’m talking to you. It seems like you’re not alone in your desire to own and have everything that screams Gundam, because the folks over at Tokyo’s Pacific Le Daiba probably knew that there were more fans like you in the world.

Gundam HotelThree rooms at the said hotel have been renovated and filled with oodles of Gundam memorabilia. Not only that, but they’ve been completely redecorated to look as if you’ve stepped into some kind of Gundam gallery.

The rooms have a cockpit to reenact your favorite scenes from the anime, sheets and bedding to reflect its ‘real’ owners, and you’ll be greeted by awesome art from your favorite characters the moment you wake up.

Pacific Le Daiba shelled out about 10 million yen ($125,000) to turn their hotel rooms into these themed suites. Lucky for you, you’ll only have to pay about 27,000 yen or $338(USD) a night to stay in one these rooms.

LEGO Eva Gundam: Mech This Official

Have you ever wondered what the offspring of the Unit 01 Evangelion and the RX-78 Gundam would look like? Wonder no more. Here’s a sick LEGO amalgam made by MOCpages member Gyuta K., fusing two of the most famous mecha to make one bad ass machine.

As you can see, the Eva Gundam takes his color scheme and overall parts design from its dad, while he got her mom’s lanky frame and bad posture, not to mention her short temper, i.e. a Berserk mode.
