This Is The Millennium Falcon Multi-tool You’ve Been Looking For

Look, there’s no getting around it: one day, every item that exists will come in a Star Wars version. And we’re ok with that. How can you not be, when you see something like this Millennium Falcon Multi-Tool?

The Star Wars Millennium Falcon Multi-Tool Kit comes equipped with four hex keys, two screwdrivers (one flat-head, one philipps), and an adjustable wrench built into the ship’s helm. The hex keys store away nicely in the back underside of the ship which is sealed shut with the power of magnets. Screwdrivers tuck away in the sides, and the wrench is adjusted by a wheel located in the center of the Falcon.

It’s just a fantastic little tool to own, even if you never use it as intended. And at $30, it makes for the perfect Christmas present. It might even not be too late to order it, if you buy it today.

GRIPsher Multi-tool Puts Pliers on Your Keychain

Most multi-tools that have pliers that are on the larger side, or they don’t have them at all. However, if you’re looking for a more compact option while still getting a functional tool, you may just love the GRIPsher. It may look odd, but is very handy.

The turtle-shaped tool measures just 2.4″ x 1.9″ and weighs 1.6 ounces. Its small size doesn’t keep it from having a lot of features though. It has over a dozen tools: Pliers, a fold-out knife, wire cutters, adjustable wire strippers, two Phillips screwdrivers, two flathead screwdrivers, a spoke wrench, a slot wrench, a measuring tool, a file, a bottle opener, a toe pry, and a pry bar.

The green jaws on the bottom double as a holder that you can use for screw, hex, torx and other bits for all your driving needs.

Your phone’s Swiss knife

binary_digitool_5

The Binary (clever bit of naming!) is a multi-tool that empowers your phone. It contains two parts that make a whole. Each part has two ports. All in all, the Binary has a very techy yin-yang vibe.

The Binary tool has on the one hand a blue cable that does your data transferring and also can charge your phone. The other part of the tool is a memory storage device. A cool idea (note: conceptual) is the way a MicroSD Card has been slotted into the USB Drive (maybe that should be USB Type D!). On the other end is a MicroUSB/Lightning Port to plug into your smartphone. This allows you to not just transfer between a phone and a desktop, but also between phones. Plus, since MicroSD cards are waterproof, bingo! No data loss because of clumsy accidents!

Millennium Falcon Multi-Tool: Hardware Wars IRL

Is there anything that the Millennium Falcon can’t do? This is the ship that made the Kessel- Yeah, you’ve heard that one. Well, this ship also took part in both Death Star battles and escaped a giant space worm thing. Now it is an awesome multi-tool too. So, nope, there’s nothing this ship can’t do.

Mininch Tool Pen Multi-tool, an alternative to screwdrivers

pen-tool

Screwdrivers are troublesome as they are always either too big and bulky, or too small and useless, but someone came up with a great idea for when you have to work with delicate stuff.

The gadget you’re looking at is the Mininch Tool Pen Multi-tool: a screwdriver with a focus on usability and maneuverability for when you need to work on enclosed surfaces (think a computer). The concept is based off of those pencils where users just pop the lead out, and push a button at the top to get a new point. Mininch might have come with the ultimate alternative for handiwork. The Mininch Tool Pen is shaped like a pen, so it’s ideal for small areas. Instead of writing tips, it uses screwdriver bits, and is made out of solid aluminum. It can hold up to six bits at a time, but allows users to switch between 13 available options.

Users can acquire it by funding their current Kickstarter campaign, with the lower tier that will get you the set being $45(USD).

Leatherman Raptor: Scissors Fit for the Upcoming Apocalypse

I have always believed that scissors are overlooked as weapons and as survival tools. The Leatherman Raptor is a versatile pair of scissors fit for surviving World War Z. While they might come in handy during zombie attacks, the Raptor was actually developed for medics.

This scissor-like multi-tool features stainless shears, a strap cutter, a carbide glass breaker, a ring cutter, a ruler, and an oxygen tank wrench.

Unfortunately, they aren’t available yet – and won’t be until May 2013. The price hasn’t been announced either.

Personally, I’d like to see a model that’s a bit more substantial than this one, something that looks scary, you know, something that you could use to take the head off a zombie.
