Quake Dimensions of the Past Celebrates 20 Years… and It’s Free!

Way back in 1996 Quake was released, so this year the game is celebrating its 20th birthday. If you own the Steam version of the original Quake game, a free new episode is available to download. The new episode, called Dimension of the Past, or “DOPA,”  comes from MachineGames, the same firm that made Wolfenstein: The New Order.

If you don’t own the original Quake, you can grab it on Steam during the summer sale for $2.49. The episode itself is completely free, and only needs only to downloaded and extracted to the Quake folder. Here’s the download link.

Just be sure to set the “-game dopa” launch option in Steam, then play away. The pixelated graphics will take you right back to the day.
