This Audi takes care of emissions!

The guys at PDF Haus know how to keep us entertained with product/brand crossovers. They gave us the Vespa coffee machine, a Dyson coffee machine, a Bose air conditioner, and to be honest, they all look pretty dope! The next target on their list seems to be Audi. The product, however, isn’t a car, but nevertheless, it transports you to a much more enjoyable place…air-quality-wise. You guessed it, the Audi air cleaner is a vertical air-purifying unit that has a more sculpted art-piece demeanor than that of a home appliance. Makes sense, given all Audi’s cars have very powerful aesthetics, making them some of the most elegantly beautiful automobiles in the business! Now imagine that sensitivity towards beauty, but in an air-purifier. Or just scroll down and admire the beauty of the Audi air cleaner by Kim Hyeon Seok and PDF Haus!

Cleaning By Deception

The Dustrap is based on the design of the age-old fish trap, where a wide, open mouth lures in the fish and entraps it. Similarly, the wide mouth sucks in the dirt, bacteria and other yucky goop, and keeping it contained till you need to dispose it. Let’s call it the new-age dust buster!

Thanko USB Air Purifier Removes the Stench from Your Cubicle

If you’re one of those people that are concerned about the quality of the air you breathe when indoors, Thanko has a new USB-powered air purifier to keep things fresh. The air purifier plugs into the USB port on your computer and slurps up the bad air, filters it, and then spits it back out for you to breathe. The purifier also promises to remove odors.

The device uses a six-layer filter element that can trap particles in the air as small as 0.3 micrometers. To remove smells from the area, the gadget has an integrated ionizer. This USB-powered purifier also has a UV light to help kill any germs and bacteria floating in the air around you.

That means it might help you stave off the flu the guy in the cubicle next to you brought to work. UV light has been used in a hospital settings for years to kill airborne germs and bacteria, and it actually works.

The air purifier sells for ¥5,980 (~$64 USD) and I’ll assume if you live in the US and need one of these, shipping will be very expensive since Thanko is located in Japan.

Plasmacluster Gets Rid of the Stink in Your Closet with Ion Power

I use an old trick my eldest sister taught me to keep the clothes in my closet smelling fresh: open a box of soap and just leave it at the bottom of your closet. When you open your cabinet the next day, you’ll be hit with the scent that isn’t overpowering or too weak, but just right. Of course, make sure you choose a soap with a fragrance that you like.

But if you’re the type who prefers your closet to smell neutral, then I think the Plasmacluster might be your best bet. It’s a system developed and sold by Daiwa of Japan that makes use of ions to get rid of odors and keep your closet smelling clean and fresh.

Plasmacluster

The negative and positive ions that it releases fasten onto clothes surfaces where the suspended microbes are, forming oxidizing hydroxide radicals. This instantly causes the removal of hydrogen from the proteins, which causes the physical breakdown of the microbes, rendering them inactive, giving you a clean, nice-smelling closet.

Unfortunately, the Plasmacluster system costs ¥45,990 (~$558 USD). We have no idea on whether or not it actually works, though, so you might end up spending close to half a grand just to see if it does. Or you could just buy a box of soap.
