These customizable backpack grid organizers are every stationery lover’s best travel partners

We all have our own personal checklists while stuffing our backpacks before leaving the house. I know I can’t leave without the paperback I’m currently reading, my writing pad, wallet, point-and-shoot, hand sanitizer, chapstick, keys, cell phone. And that’s just for my walk to the grocery store. I mostly rely on those free tote bags you get with magazine subscriptions – they get the job done, but by the time I get home, digging for my keys buried underneath everything else gets tiring. Fritsch-Durisotti, a creative studio based in Paris, launched their line of backpacks and companion organizers, Fil & Fog so that we can bring our own “little universe of personal items” with us anywhere we go, leaving the hassles of clutter and disorganization at home.

The designers behind Fil & Fog set out to construct a backpack built to last and accompanying organizers that can keep up with our passions, no matter where they might take us. For Fritsch-Durisotti’s Fil & Fog, passion is found in its construction. TPU coating is applied to every backpack and organizer, which enhances both products’ impermeability factors and also allows room for untraditional, but effective textile assembly methods. High-frequency welding, for instance, a plastic welding process that relies on high-frequency electric fields, gives Fil & Fog’s backpack and organizers their high resistance threshold and water-tightness. Elastic bands come with each organizer so that they are completely customizable for each user’s needs – just weave the elastic bands through the laser-cut grids found inside each organizer and store all your items.

Once every organizer is finalized, they easily slip into a Fil & Fog backpack’s bottom compartment, which has enough room to store multiple different sized organizers at once. The backpack itself is manufactured using polyester for the bag’s fabric and recycled nylon for its lining, giving the backpack an entirely waterproof edge. An expandable top compartment can also be joined with the backpack’s lower compartment, giving the backpack an overall, generous volume of 24 liters. Like a Russian doll, the backpack holds so much more than meets the eye. Whether you’re gearing up for that solo camping trip you’ve been looking forward to all quarantine or just hitting up a local beach to spend the day, Fil & Fog is designed to make the act of carrying our passions feel a lot lighter – “Fil & Fog offers agile solutions to organize, pack, and carry the stuff we need and the stuff we love. A timeless companion that invites us to go back to what is important to us.”

How Kickstarter provided the perfect launchpad for this innovative modern-day travel backpack

Small companies innovate, large companies acquire. That’s just a fundamental fact when it comes to any industry with big players. Zuckerberg’s only bit of innovation was Facebook. Every single Facebook company we see today – Instagram, Whatsapp, Oculus, etc, was a strategic acquisition. One could say the same with Google. Apart from search, almost every Google product existed independently before it was absorbed by the company. Small companies think big… Large companies just look at the bigger picture.

Innovation practically runs in the blood of Tropicfeel, a 26-person design company based out of Barcelona. Responsible for creating the world’s most funded shoe in 2018, and the second most funded shoe in 2019, Tropicfeel has more than proved that they’ve got the spirit to innovate, as a small, creative, sustainability-driven, and consumer-focused brand. After shipping more than 500,000 shoes to over 142 countries (that’s 75% of the world) in the past couple of years, Tropicfeel decided to shift their gaze to yet another product in the travel-domain that needed their Midas-touch… the modern travel backpack.

The truth is that the Shell backpack couldn’t possibly come from a larger company. The Kickstarter platform and a brand ethos of being radical, together coupled with Tropicfeel’s aggressively loyal and involved community, proved to be perfect ingredients for Tropicfeel’s next ambitious product. The Shell is a backpack that comes with a rugged weatherproof design, expandable storage space, modular elements, and a one-of-a-kind wardrobe system that allows you to store clothes in your bag like you would in a closet. It behaves like a backpack when you want to store work essentials, a rucksack when you’re outdoors, and a portable wardrobe when you’re traveling on holiday. A dedicated section just for your laptop, charger, and tech peripherals sits right against your back, keeping it protected from others yet accessible to you at all times. The bag’s exterior comes with a 6L kangaroo pouch that gives you an extra fold-out compartment of storage for items you want to keep separate from the rest of your bag (shoes, wet clothes, etc.), while a detachable pouch with Fidlock® fixtures lets you easily attach a separate pouch to your bag.

The Shell comes with 22L of storage space, along with an expanding design that increases internal storage to 40L. A variety of pockets on the inside, as well as the outside, let you segregate and organize your stuff, but nothing matches up to Shell’s wardrobe system – a removable module that turns the inside of your backpack into a makeshift closet. The wardrobe module fits right into your backpack and can be removed and hung on a rod or hook in a room. With multiple sections, the wardrobe system is quite literally a miniature closet for you to store your clothes in. Not only does it make packing (and unpacking) easier, it enables you to live out of your backpack, but with the comfort of having your own organized wardrobe at your fingertips. The wardrobe system allows you to store your clothes without crushing them, and comes with straps on the side that help you compress it to save space, before fitting it into the Shell’s interior compartment. The Shell backpack even offers additional modular bags including a dedicated toiletry bag, a tech pouch, and a padded camera bag with adjustable walls to store your expensive equipment and accessories.

Not only does the Shell balance all these features, it does so while sticking to Tropicfeel’s strict sustainability guidelines. The backpack’s fabric, while rugged, waterproof, and weatherproof, comes made from Bluesign-approved 100% recycled nylon on the outside, and a 64% recycled polyester lining on the inside. The idea of sustainability extends to the rest of the bag’s construction too, which promises to last MUCH longer than any conventional travel bag – the Shell even comes with a lifetime guarantee. Designed for both the unpredictable outdoors as well as the cyclical nature of daily life, the Shell backpack takes wearer comfort into consideration too, with an ergonomic foam back-panel to keep your spine supported, sternum straps to reduce the stress on your shoulders, and frontal adjustable bands that help lower or raise the backpack depending on the weight it’s carrying. The expandable design even gives you the freedom to decide how big or small you want your bag to be based on how much you’re carrying. At 40L, the Shell serves the purpose of a rucksack, perfect for treks, camping trips, and long holidays. Compress it to an intermediate 30L size and you get yourself a balance between storage and the ability to stow your bag in a flight cabin. However, if you just need the backpack to serve your basic needs, the 22L size is ideally compact for your daily commute, serving as the quintessential laptop bag… albeit with more than a few tricks up its sleeve, and a guarantee to be the last bag you’ll ever need to own!

This ‘chameleon’ backpack with modular fascia can ‘shapeshift’ to suit your various needs

If Arya Stark were a backpack, she would probably be the What Pack. Obscure reference? Sure, but it drives home the point I’m trying to make. The What Pack isn’t one backpack… It’s multiple bag-styles built around a backpack’s framework. Featuring a modular setup that lets you replace the backpack’s face to change its visual appeal as well as its function, the What Pack is quite literally the ‘Bag with Many Faces’.

While the swappable face system is What Pack’s most standout feature, it sits on a very reliable base that’s designed to accommodate all your belongings perfectly. The base is a spacious 14L compartment, built to stash all your belongings securely and in dedicated spaces on both the inside and outside. A padded neoprene sleeve fits laptops as large as 16 inches, while additional pockets and pouches let you carry notebooks, A4 folders, tablets, stationery, and other small belongings. Pockets on the outside let you carry items like bottles and umbrellas, while discretely positioned pouches on the base and back let you secure more high-value belongings like cash and cards. The large inner compartment is perfect for everything from clothes to gear, and extension straps help hold all your stuff in place while compressing them to save up on storage space. The base interfaces with the swappable lids using a clamshell opening (which also makes it easy to access your bag’s belongings without having to rummage around) that lets you zip out one lid for another. What Pack’s Monochrome Series features four lid styles that alternate between four different scenarios – Casual, Work, Active, and Travel, covering practically all the bases, and giving you one backpack that carefully considers all your needs.

The four different faces solve their individual purposes with sheer attention to detail. While the Casual face gives your backpack a discreet, no-nonsense appearance, the Work face allows you to carry more, with separate compartments for your work essentials. The Active face is much more suited for trips to the gym, featuring a mesh pouch on the outside for airing out your gym clothes or shoes, while the Travel face gives your backpack an extra 3 liters of storage, bringing the total up to 17L. The swappable faces are also complemented by a swappable strap system, allowing you to choose between minimal Chic Shoulder Straps, or Utility Shoulder Straps with loops to secure your EDC or hang items. The bag even comes with built-in handles on the top, side, and even the bottom, allowing you to carry it any way you see fit, along with a convertible luggage sleeve that lets you strap the What Pack to your travel case while you’re dashing through the airport.

While the versatility feature is built right into the bag’s design-brief, its durable construction helps it be the versatile backpack you need for everything between work, play, and travel (whether it’s to the outdoors or via flight/transit). The body of the What Pack is made from water-resistant 900D Polyester PU, with an X-Pac VX21 base for added durability and wear-resistance. Water-resistant SBS zippers keep your belongings protected from the elements, and Duraflex hardware ensures your bag’s parts last much longer than the ones found on traditional backpacks. Plus, if you want to know more about how your bag’s built, its details, materials, care-instructions, or updates from the baker, a serialized NFC-chip built into the bag’s top lets you easily tap to access additional information about the What Pack on your NFC-ready smartphone. It also serves as a virtual authenticity-certificate, letting you know that the What-Pack you own is unique and original… even though it has multiple faces and identities!

This rattan luggage design puts a modern spin on ancient Chinese basket-weaving techniques!

When I saw this backpack and suitcase set, my first thought was, Wow, this is beautiful, but is it sturdy enough for practical use? I was pleased to learn that the eye-catching basket-woven exterior was made a durable material called rattan, which had been used to make luggage 100 years ago in China.

Aside from being an environmentally friendly alternative to plastic, rattan offers several advantages as a material. It is breathable, shock-absorbent, and molds comfortably to the shape of your back. The white cloth material, Lycra, is very flexible, changing shape to fit all of your items. Instead of playing Tetris with your clothes, trying to squeeze everything into limited space, the Lycra covering stretches to accommodate your needs. Imagine being able to close a full suitcase without pressing your full body weight on top of it.

Last year, the Regression travel bags took home the bronze award from the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA). However, I still have concerns about its practical use. I used to travel frequently via plane, and my suitcase accumulated many scuffs and dents over the years. Even if the Regression backpack and suitcase could withstand the light jostling of an airplane cargo hold without breaking, I believe that even a small amount of dirt would tarnish from its pristine beauty. In short, these bags are too gorgeous for my personal needs, but I would be very jealous of anyone who owned them.

Meet the Hummer of backpacks, with a sturdy hard-shell case and modular, spacious interiors

Now here’s a combination of words you’ve probably never heard before. Hard-shell backpack, with expandable + modular storage, space for a 17″ Laptop, and an Anti-Theft chain. I’ve covered enough backpacks in my 5 years as a design blogger to know that there’s something different about the Xcube… it’s a serious, feature-laden backpack that absolutely means business.

The Xcube is pretty much designed like a tank. Its hard-shell case is strong enough for you to literally crack concrete over without damaging your belongings inside, while a waterproof and scratch-proof outer clad protects your belongings from any other external forces. It’s spacious on the inside too, with dedicated storage for laptops (as large as 17-inch) and tablets, and 15 different pockets for organizing accessories and EDC. The main storage space holds as much as 32 liters (in the larger variant), and allows you to use velcro-dividers to segregate items and create dedicated spaces for your cameras, lenses, drones, etc. If for some reason you run out of space, an expandable zip brings the overall storage up to 43L, just so you can store and carry more with you. The main storage space of the Xcube also fits its additional modular bags… a 10L MagicCube bag (ideal for drones) and a separate 2L sling. These individual bags can either be carried inside the larger Xcube backpack, or be used independently for extra storage, or for carrying just your essentials with you. They’re designed to be waterproof too, with YKK zippers to match.

The Xcube also takes its responsibilities of protecting your belongings pretty seriously. Aside from guarding it from damage by impact or rain, the bag comes with more than its fair share of anti-theft measures to prevent any loss of valuables. The main access to the bag is through a hidden zipper that sits closer to you when you’re wearing the backpack. For added security, a TSA lock lets you manually secure the backpack’s main zippers, and for quick access, concealed pockets and stash-pouches on the back-panel allow you to easily store and access belongings like your phone, wallet, or passport without being too evident. To protect the entire bag from the danger of theft, the Xcube even comes with a PVC-coated steel anti-theft chain and lock, allowing you to physically latch your backpack onto a pole, handle, or railing like you would a bicycle.

Available in classic black or space gray, the Xcube comes in a smaller 26L variant (which expands to 36L) and a larger 32L variant (which expands to 43L). The outer shell of the backpack comes made using a patent-pending C-SPII Shell Technology and is crafted from an ABS/PC polymer blend to give it its rugged strength and impact-resistance. The hard-shell comes with a flat surface that isn’t just easy to clean, but also doubles down as a makeshift desk for you to rest your laptop on! The backpack even features a USB-out, allowing you to connect a power-bank on the inside and quickly charge your gadgets through the bag itself – a feature that’s ideal for when you’re outdoors or traveling through an airport. Ergonomic backstraps further make travel easier, and a luggage pass-through strap gives you the freedom to secure your Xcube to a travel-case.

With a Red Dot Design Award-winning design, Xcube backpack accommodates for a myriad of scenarios, needs, and gear – whether you’re just commuting to work with a laptop, traveling as a photographer, going outdoors with a drone, or just taking a flight on a business trip with your work equipment. While its expandable form, customizable storage, and removable modular bags give you the freedom to carry any sort of gear with you, that hard-shell design, concealed zipper, and anti-theft cable give you the freedom of mind, knowing that nobody else will ever get their hands on your stuff!

How one company designed the ultimate camera bag for every photographer

Designing a camera bag can often be an extremely challenging task given the demanding and everchanging needs of photographers. Some travel with large lenses, others require dedicated storage for a drone, tripod, external flash, or extra clothes on a lengthy shoot. The issue with (and the challenge behind) designing the perfect camera bag revolves around this uncertainty, the fact that cameras and accessories come in different sizes and shapes, and that every photographer has their own setup.

This lack of a standard set of requirements makes it difficult for any bag to be a jack of all trades, but the OneMo backpack certainly comes excitingly close to being the ultimate photographer’s bag. Designed to be modular, functional, expandable, durable, and versatile, the OneMo has an answer for any sort of scenario. The bag comes with a spacious 25L inner that can be infinitely segregated using modular walls, allowing you to carefully pack and secure your belongings. Whether it’s a camera, a microphone, an expensive lens, or just a pair of clothes, these modular walls flex and bend to form the layout you need, changing every time you change your gear. Modular compartments aside, the OneMo even comes with its own detachable storage unit which transforms into a secondary shoulder bag for stuff like drones, lenses, etc. The shoulder bag fits right into the OneMo, but can be removed and carried separately, or independently too, giving you the flexibility to travel with all your gear or carry just the essentials. Use just the shoulder bag for short-range shots, or the camera backpack + shoulder bag for a long shoot spanning 2-3 days – the OneMo gives you the flexibility you need.

The OneMo backpack comes with three points of entry, allowing you to quickly access parts of the bag based on your need. A zip on the top lets you easily access a jacket or your laptop, while a quick-access entry on the side lets you swiftly grab your camera. The full-access zip runs along the back, allowing you to completely open up your backpack and view all its contents in one go. Zip it open and the OneMo reveals perhaps one of my favorite features… dedicated battery storage. These tiny battery compartments come with their own red-green sliders, allowing you to mark the battery inside as empty (red) or full (green) so you never accidentally pick up a dead battery. A multitude of other pouches (accessible from both the inside and the outside) allow you to store cables, power banks, your phone, or even your cards in their own RFID blocking pocket. There’s a little something for everyone in the OneMo and its accompanying shoulder-bag, even for people who want to carry more than the bag can accommodate.

The OneMo backpack and shoulder bag both come with expandable storage, allowing you to add as many as 10 extra liters to the existing 25L backpack. The expandable storage on the backpack is big enough to fit an entire gimbal, so you don’t need to set it up every time, while the shoulder bag’s expandable storage and dedicated pockets are perfectly sized to fit DJI Mavic combos, including drones, smart remote controller, cables and batteries. Additional straps on the outside let you secure bulkier items like sleeping bags or blankets as well as suspend tripods off the side. The OneMo’s design doesn’t just accommodate all types of gear, it accommodates every sort of lifestyle too. The bag’s outer body is crafted from a special tear-proof and scratch-proof polyester, and padded straps + a ventilated back panel keep you cool and breezy as you carry your gear along with you. If the weather takes a turn for the worse, the bag’s waterproof construction is more than equipped to shake off any droplets that fall on it. For more extreme situations, a hidden rain-cover comes integrated into the bag’s base, allowing you to secure your expensive gear and protect them from the elements. Couple that versatility, modularity, expandability, and durability along with the OneMo’s lifetime warranty and you have a pretty strong contender for the title of the ultimate photographer’s bag!

Moment’s beautifully versatile bags let you carry your workplace anywhere you go

The CEO of AirBnb, Brian Chesky, made a pretty interesting point when he talked about the future of WFH in a post-pandemic world. You see, work from home isn’t a sacrosanct statement… it means work from wherever you are, a hotel, a lobby, a friend’s place, a garage, or even a getaway cottage. Your entire office sits inside your laptop, and the guys at Moment felt this was a chance to redesign the vessel for your laptop… the laptop-bag.

Moment’s Travelwear comes in the form of the classic laptop bag as well as an over-the-shoulder tote bag. Designed to comfortably carry all your stuff around with you (the emphasis being on comfort – with spacious designs and sizes for everyone), the MTW bags are a combination of minimal and sensible, with pockets for all your belongings, water + weather-proof nylon exterior, and accessories for specific carry-ons like camera accessories and battery-packs (which shouldn’t come as a surprise, considering Moment’s rich history with smartphones, cameras, and their catalog of incredibly professional lenses).

Both the MTW Backpack and MTW Tote boast of a design that’s non-specific, which means it can be used to carry your tech with you or even your regular items like clothes, tiffin-boxes, diaper-bags, etc. It’s a bag designed for a life that may be at home or anywhere else, so the bag’s spacious design and multiple pockets account for that. The Backpack comes with sleeves for laptops and tablets, pouches for your phone, notebooks, and stationery, and a hang-tag for your keys… apart from that, there’s 17 liters (small size) and 21 liters (large size) of extra space for the rest of your belongings. The backpacks are soft on the skin and comfortable to wear over hours, with foam padding in the straps, and a breathable pack-panel. A sternum strap lets you easily secure the bag around your torso (pretty handy when you’re hiking/trekking) and if you’re a bit of a jet-setter, built-in luggage-passthrough straps let you secure your bag to a travel-case.

The MTW Tote is just as functional as the backpack, although with an over-your-shoulder design and 19 liters of storage. Pockets on the inside keep all your belongings organized, and dedicated slots for your laptop and tablet allow you to carry your ‘workplace’ around with you. There’s even space for carrying up to 2 water bottles, complete with waterproof pouches to keep your belongings safe. The exterior is waterproof too, and comes with secret outer-pockets for storing things like wallets, ID cards, or precious documents like tickets or passports. The tote’s straps are made to be broad, so they don’t ever cut into your skin… and when you feel the fatigue of carrying your laptop with you for too long, a flat base allows your tote bag to rest vertically without tipping over. I call that an eye for detail.

The abilities of both the backpack and the tote are enhanced by MTW’s organizers, designed to carry a variety of specific items to turn the classic bags into profession-specific ones. The Camera Organizer is ideal for storing cameras and lenses, while a battery pouch allows you to easily carry extra batteries, SD cards, and cables. The Tech Organizer and Mini Organizer offer storage for stuff like charging cables, power-banks, headphones/earphones, so you can easily pop them out of your bag and carry them to your makeshift workspace, having all your work paraphernalia right on your desk instead of embedded inside your backpack.

MTW’s bags, like most products, were born to fulfill needs that other bags couldn’t. The backpack, tote, and organizers are all built to provide reliable, robust, and organized storage while being comfortable to wear and carry, and classic to look at. Moment’s bags were designed to carry your work-life with you, but they aren’t limited to just that. Spacious interiors and a multitude of storage pockets let you carry more than just your work with you, and the backpack and tote have a little something for everyone, no matter what the lifestyle, what the profession, or what the need. Let’s just say that life can sometimes throw curveballs at you (as this year has so effectively demonstrated)… and the MTW bags were designed to help you overcome them by being able to carry your life around with you.

Moment Travelwear: Bags To Work Anywhere, Travel Everywhere.

Everyday backpacks, totes, and organizers for the new work – at home, on the road, from the car, or even the park.

This is Moment’s 6th campaign and the Moment Travelwear is their first line of bags. It’s designed to be comfortable, sustainably built, and made for working on the road. It looks good enough to go to a meeting, but functional enough to use on a shoot. It’s tough enough to carry all your tech, but simple enough that you blend in. It’s light enough to be used every day, but expandable when you need it.

MTW Backpack

Made from recycled material, this bag is rainstorm proof on the outside and well organized on the inside. With room for a 16” laptop, dedicated pockets for tech, and accessible from the top or side… it’s easy to access your gear. Sized for men and women, the padded breathable shoulder straps make this bag comfortable all day long.

Creatives come in all heights, so they wanted to make sure our bags worked for everyone. By studying the frames of various size people, we designed the bags to sit comfortably in the center of your back whether you are tall or small.

Built-in luggage passthrough.

Hyper-adjustable sternum strap adds extra support.

Elevated mesh with airflow channels to reduce sweat.

Removable Camera Insert

Quick side-zipper access to your camera gear for shooting on the go.

Camara insert leaves plenty of space for whatever else you want to carry.

MTW Tote

Its durable and water-resistant shell fabric keeps your gear protected and tote looking good. Dedicated pockets on the inside keep your small items organized, your laptop protected, and your water bottle in place. The ultra-soft straps are tough while being comfortable in hand or on your shoulder, even when wearing a tank top.

The low profile padded base helps the bag stand upright while still maintaining a natural feel – unlike other padded tech totes that are overly bulky.

No dig straps. Super soft, super strong webbing for ultimate comfort, even with a tank top.

MTW Organizers

The first tech organizer with a removable mini pouch, designed by creatives for creatives to help you take control of your tech essentials. The main pouch has space for everything you need, while the removable mini organizer gives you the option to pack light when you want, or carry extra. Its simple zip closure and versatile internal layout allow you to pack it however you like. With a low profile construction and rugged materials, it’s here to help you work from anywhere.

With dedicated, color coded pockets for fresh batteries, spent batteries, and a charger, this pouch helps you keep your power in check. Best of all, the pocket is designed to shift volume so as you use batteries, it makes more space for the used ones. Built with rugged materials and YKK zippers… it’s ready for long travel days and hectic shoots. Highly requested by filmmaker friends, this is the battery pouch we’ve always wanted.

Camera Insert

Designed to fit perfectly inside our MTW Backpack and Tote, the Camera Insert is a perfect way to carry your essential camera kit. It also works inside most other non-camera daypacks. With a large side access zip and interchangeable dividers, you can set it up however you like. Carry up to a Canon 5D (no battery grip) sized camera with a 70-200mm lens and room for extras. Unlike other large, bulky camera cubes, this one is just big enough to carry your essential kit and leave room for other gear in your bag.

Miniature robotic camera backpack shows how beetles see the world

After creating tiny sensor backpacks for bees, researchers from the University of Washington have built a more advanced model for beetles. Dubbed “a GoPro for beetles,” the robotic backpacks carry a tiny steerable camera that can stream video at 1 to...

The Unit Bag 2 proves that great backpack design doesn’t have to be expensive

It’s just common sense that if one product is better than another, chances are it’s more expensive too. Form and function are usually followed by a price… but there are instances where the opposite is true, where great products don’t demand the fee associated with better design. The Unit Bag 2 aims at being one of those instances.

The Unit Bag 2 is a compact-yet-spacious bag that’s waterproof, lightweight, well-padded and just costs $39. I’d normally reserve talking about the price of the bag for the end of the article, but given that we’ve seen bags cost ten times the amount (even on Kickstarter), the Unit Bag 2’s price is an important part of its feature-list. The bag, designed in two variants (one for work and another for travel), comes with a scratch-proof and waterproof exterior, and a well-padded and protected inner that’s designed to safeguard your belongings. A fleece-lined laptop sleeve goes the distance to prevent your machine from even the smallest of scratches. The backpack’s design comes optimized for maximum storage, with spacious and well-segregated interiors, as well as a variety of externally located pockets that allow you to stash quick-access items like cards or your AirPods case. Each backpack comes lined with waterproof SBS zippers that cover 3 of the bag’s 4 sides, allowing it to fully open out in a way that gives you access to every single one of the Unit Bag 2’s inner compartments… much like a suitcase.

The work and travel variants of the Unit Bag 2 weigh a mere 650 grams and 880 grams respectively, and come with 14 and 23 liters of storage. Both variants feature multiple modes of carrying, and can be worn as a backpack, a shoulder-bag or carried like a briefcase, allowing you to distribute your bag’s weight in any way. The ultra-slim bags come in an all-black design, making them truly visually versatile, with the exception of a small reflective strip that runs along the base of the bag, allowing you to be visible in low-light conditions. Designed for modern-day use, the bags even have an external USB hub that lets you plug and charge your phone from outside the bag.

This brings me back to one of the bag’s most interesting features. At $39, the bags are incredibly affordable, even by Kickstarter standards. We’ve covered tonnes of bags on YD, spanning everything from space-saving design to the use of innovative, protective materials, or even anti-theft features. It’s rare to see a backpack that encapsulates so much but still manages to cost about as much as one of Apple’s charging cables.
