Remote Baby Bonding

Parents of preemies can find themselves at home worrying in the first days or weeks following the birth & miss out on building a physical/emotional connection. Baboo is a baby bonding system that creates a connection between the hospital incubator & the home, immersing new parents in the newborn’s progress as much as possible. It gives real-time information (awake, asleep, activity, weight, etc.) presented in a calming way to decrease feelings of stress, guilt & worry. Over time parents will notice these changes & establish a sense of pride for their little fighter!

Baboo is one of the first designs to use data visualizations in a 3 dimensional object rather than on a screen. When baby is active, Baboo mimics by moving its own limbs. When baby is awake, it also “awakens” with a gentle light. The weight of the baby is symbolized in the depth of Baboo’s movements

Bespoke Baby Bed

Nuture is a concept that replaces the core and support layers of traditional infant mattresses with a strap system that allows for a bespoke design to be created for every child. The aluminum frame provides rigidity with adjustable tension straps that allow the profile to be altered. This means parents can tailor the mattress contours to their baby to help prevent flat head syndrome, limit acid reflux and more. It’s also extendable to adapt to a range of infant beds & grows as the child does, all the way until they transition to a regular bed!

Scarlett Johansson is Carrying Fiancé Romain Dauriac’s Child

Watch out! Scarlett Johansson is not only the sexiest female alive but is preggers with her fiancé journalist Romain Dauriac’s baby. The news hit the airwaves like a bomb. And as we all know Scarlett...

The stroller that grows up too…

As baby grows up from being pushed in a stroller, to taking his first steps, to learning to pedal a tricycle, the Piv-O stroller is there every step of the way! The “polifunctional” design needs only be adjusted as your child transitions from stage to stage, meaning there’s no need to waste money on numerous devices. By the time he’s grown out of it, he’ll be totally prepared to lose the training wheels and ride a real bike!

World’s Awesomest Mom Mods Her Kid’s Push Car into a Time-Traveling DeLorean

Kid DeLorean

When I was a kid, I wished everyday that I’d get a DeLorean for my birthday. Instead, I got a Barbie doll, but I was still happy anyway. Regardless, I’m still bowling over with envy at little Cooper because he’s going to be riding around in a smashing DeLorean this Halloween, all thanks to his awesome dad mom* named Cory.

Cory probably wanted to make her little boy something extra this Halloween, so why not a DeLorean sort-of replica from Back to the Future? It might not be able to travel back through time, but it has the power to make everyone who sees it (aka. you and me) to go back in time and remember the good old days. And what good old days they were.

Hit the break to check out more awesome pics of Cooper’s modded push car!

*Correction: We originally gave credit for Cooper’s awesome DeLorean push car mod to his ‘dad’ named ‘Cody’ but it turns out the parent responsible for it was his mother named Cory. Oh, the horror of our errors. Thanks to Cory for writing in and telling us so nicely that this was her fantastic work.

Oregon Scientific MEEP! tablet ships for $150, gives kids a safe, exclamation-filled place to play

Oregon Scientific MEEP! tablet ships for $150, gives kids a safe, exclamationfilled place to play

For all the enthusiasm Oregon Scientific put into launching (and naming) its MEEP! tablet, the company has been a bit timid about getting the kid-friendly Android device into the market -- we're just seeing it go on sale eight months after it was first shown to the world. Now that the slate is here, it may be worth the patience from parents. The 1GHz ARM Cortex-A8 chip, 512MB of RAM, 800 x 480 screen and 4GB of storage won't have the adults regretting their Kindle Fire purchases, but the MEEP! does come in a smash-resistant form with remote parental control and an allowance-based store that lets kids 'buy' apps with virtual coins. Oregon helps its case through the use of Ice Cream Sandwich, preloaded games like Angry Birds and a raft of accessories for games and music. The $150 asking price is just low enough that we can see a few families starting their youngest technophiles on a MEEP! before graduating them to bigger, badder tablets with less punctuation in the name.

Wild Stroller of the Savannahs

The latest design from Casualplay, Kudu Stroller, just goes to show that inspiration can come from the most unexpected places! Inspired by the beautiful African antelope of the same name, this wild design takes from the elegant yet robust body of the animal. Simplistic lines and invisible welds also give it a seamless, minimalist aesthetic.

It’s not only pretty, but super functional. The design features a collapsible backrest with 3 positions.
Multiple positions of the backrest mean the child can sit up comfortably while awake or completely lie down while asleep. This fully reclined position means it can also be used as a changing mat anywhere.
In addition, there’s also a reverse seat that in just one movement can be placed in any position desired, facing forwards or facing the parents.
