Own This Awesome Light-up Helmet Replica Based on Jamiroquai “Automaton” Video

For the longest time, the coolest headgear out of the world of music had to be Daft Punk’s iconic helmets, and Deadmau5’s light up mouse head. But earlier this year, Jay Kay of Jamiroquai donned a fantastic helmet not just loaded up with colorful LEDs, but motorized pieces which could change form.

Now, the guys over at 10KLumen are showing off an amazing replica build of the helmet, which looks exactly like the one in the Automaton music video. It lights up, changes colors, and even has servos to move the bits of spiky, translucent plastic “hair” into different positions. I especially dig the illuminated “eyebrows.” Check it out in action in the video below:

It looks pretty darned close to the one in the music video. People are really going to be amazed if you turn up at dance party or a Halloween costume party wearing this thing.

Best of all, you can buy one of these amazing helmet replicas for yourself for $450(USD), which I don’t think is all that expensive given all of the work that must have gone into engineering this thing.

Make Your Own Spider-Man Web Shooters

If you aim to become your city’s friendly neighborhood Spider-Man, you are going to need a few thing – a costume and a web-shooter for instance. Well, here’s one way to make your own web-slinging gear, even if you don’t have a wealthy benefactor like Tony Stark.

On this episode of Odin Makes, host Odin Abbott shows us how to make Spider-Man‘s web shooters based on the design from Captain America: Civil War and Spider-Man: Homecoming. This was a very highly requested DIY prop from his viewers. Things are gonna get sticky. You are going to need some floor mats, foam, contact cement and a few other common items that are easily found.

Try it yourself and go protect your neighborhood from bad guys. Now the question is where you can get some web fluid around here?

Duck Tape Turns up at WonderCon with Cosplay Repair Booth

We like cosplay around here, despite the fact that I am not much for dressing up (I even shun pants). People who like to go to conferences like ComicCon or WonderCon are a bit more enthusiastic about getting dressed up than I am. The catch homemade costumes is that they aren’t always the most durable clothing items.

Enter the folks from the Duck Brand Tape. They teamed up with the Syfy’s Cosplay Melee to provide tape repair services up at this year’s WonderCon, offering to enhance or fix costumes at no cost.

They brought a wide variety of colors and finishes to take on any cosplay emergency at hand. These guys should consider doing this at every convention where there are cosplayers on hand.

Behold the greatest animal cosplay ever. It’s a guinea pig, a rather fat and strange rodent that parents tend to buy for kids instead of a dog. This particular guinea pig is the same width from his fat little cheeks down to his piggy arse.

That makes the pig perfect to play a deliciously starchy side dish. Stuff him in some foil and put a pat of butter on his pack and boom… behold the Pigtato. I wonder if the chubby little rascal ended up eating that butter.

I’m sort of hungry for a baked potato topped with pulled pork now.

The Walking Dead Negan’s Bat Replica Is a Bloody Mess

Late last year, we saw Negan’s bat Lucille get its own replica while it was all clean and wrapped in barbed wire. That bat replica was what it looked like before Glenn’s eyeball got popped out. I still wish it had been Carl to get smashed up, I can’t stand Carl. Oh well, there’s still time I suppose.

This time out, McFarlane Toys has a blood-soaked Lucille replica that looks like the bat after Abraham and Glenn met their makers. The replica is aptly named the “Take It Like a Champ” edition. Yikes.

This full-size plastic replica will ship in October 2017, just in time for your Negan Halloween costume. You can pre-order yours now over at Entertainment Earth for $29.99(USD).

Mass Effect Omni-Blade Weapon Will Save the Universe

I am a huge fan of the Mass Effect franchise, and not just because it has blue cleavage in it. The games have been super cool, and I think I spent as much time mining stuff and building my ship as I did fighting bad guys. They did have a bit too much dialogue for my taste at some points though.

If you are a Mass Effect fan and love cosplay too, check out this awesome omni-blade cosplay weapon. The see-through orange K-resin blade simulates the game’s holographic weapon nicely. It has a flip out blade and is designed to be worn on the right hand. The strap that holds it on the arm is adjustable from 7.5 to 14-inches to fit a variety of sizes.

It will launch in late February on ThinkGeek and can be pre-ordered now for $59.99(USD). I hope to see some hot blue cosplayers wearing these.

[Warning: Walking Dead Season 7 Spoilers Ahead] The Walking Dead can be brutal. The first episode of Season 7 was about as harsh as it comes, with Negan’s deadly baseball bat meeting bone, brains, and blood.

When Abraham got his head bashed to pulp I was ok with that. I mean I had been waiting for him to die for a while; that seemed to be the only reason he was part of the show. I had kind of hoped that Carl would die, but the chances of that happening were about as big as the chances of Daryl getting pulped. After Abraham met his maker, I didn’t expect Glenn to get his eye smashed out of his head though. Damn, they killed off two characters!
