Make Your Own Custom Batman Guitar: The DIY Knight

If you have ever wanted to rock out on a custom Batman guitar, you can try your hand at making one like this. Imgur user DarrynStead has provided an overview of the process. You just need the skill (or Lucius Fox) to actually build it for you.

The guitar is shaped like the Bat-symbol and on the back it has some cool artwork featuring the Caped Crusader. If Batman played guitar, he would love this instrument.

It turned out perfect. And if he ever found himself up against a tough foe and ran out of batarangs, he could always hit the guy over the head with this thing too.

Dress-up Napkins for Superhero Slobs

If you are the slobby sort who can’t seem to keep your food off your clothes, you might want to use a napkin. The Three Stooges always crammed napkins into their shirt collars to keep food off. Granted, they typically ended up with the corner of the tablecloth, resulting in an even bigger mess. Still, if you need to keep clean and you want to be a bit geeky about it, these are the napkins for you.

superhero_napkins_1zoom in

There are four designs and when the squares are unfolded, they look like the chests of classic DC superheroes Batman, Robin, Wonder Woman, and Superman. You can stuff the napkins into the collar of your shirt and bam, instant cosplay that will also keep you clean. The Wonder Woman napkin also gives you a very nice rack. Bonus.

A package of 24 will cost you $5.99(USD) with shipping set for May 2016, and you can pre-order now at Entertainment Earth.

Fan-made LEGO Arkham Asylum: Where’s Waylon?

LEGO fans – and LEGO itself – love to create dioramas of Batman’s headquarters. But Flickr user Dayton aka Forgotten Days turned his attention to the villainous hive that is the Arkham Asylum.

Dayton says he’s wanted to build the infamous hospital for years. He finally made his dream come true after 2 years of planning and about 4 months of building. The whole thing is made of about 18,000 pieces and measures 52 x 98 x 55 studs.

Dayton finished it in time for this year’s Brickvention, the biggest LEGO convention in Australia.

I hope Dayton hid a bunch of Riddler trophies in there.

World’s Largest LEGO Batmobile: Holy Butt Studs Batman!

LEGO pop artist Nathan Sawaya recently unveiled one of his latest creations: an 18ft. long Batmobile made of 500,000 LEGO pieces. It will be the centerpiece in his joint global exhibition with Warner Bros. and DC Comics called The Art of the Brick: DC Comics.

Nathan based the Batmobile partly on a crowdsourced design that Jim Lee and the audience at one of DC Comics’ panels at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con (shown below), where The Art of the Brick: DC Comics was also announced.

Speaking with Nerdist, Nathan said that because of time constraints he practically worked on the Batmobile for 12 hours a day everyday for 2 months. Thankfully his relatively rushed job came out amazing, and Nerdist says it’s filled with lots of details that have to be seen in person to be fully appreciated, such as the bat symbol holes on the wheels.

The Art of the Brick: DC Comics will kick off 11/21/15 at the Powerhouse Museum in Sydney, Australia. Check out DC Comics’ website for a sneak peek at Nathan’s other exhibition pieces.

LEGO Action Comics #1 Superman Set

SDCC has a ton of exclusives this year and the latest one from LEGO has been revealed. This one is a unique collectible that collectors will go crazy for. The LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes Action Comics #1 Superman set, which recreates the Superman issue that started it all.

superman_lego_2zoom in

It will retail for $39.99(USD). Just so you know, you have to win a drawing in order to purchase LEGO’s SDCC sets this year. I guess the idea is that it is more difficult for people to buy up sets to sell them on eBay.

Like the cover it depicts, this one is a first. It will look great with your other nerd toys. Hopefully, LEGO will make more sets based on comic covers down the road.
