Feels Like You’re Lounging on Grass: Taer Grass Field Hammock

Taer Grass Field Hammock

Remember the days when you used to lie on a bed of grass, staring at the sky with not a care in the world? Large patches of unoccupied grass might be harder to come across these days, especially if you tend to get lazy with the gardening. You could go to the park, but then you’d have to share your little patch of heaven with the rest of the world.

So here’s an alternative: the Taer Grass field hammock. It’s covered in a ynthetic polyamide material that mimics the color and feel of actual grass. Of course, nothing’s quite like the original, but this is probably the next best thing to actual grass. The hammock is water and UV resistant and you can hang it indoors or outdoors, depending on your preferences and available space.

The Taer Grass hammock retails for €365 (about $500).

Grass Hammock Lets You Sleep on a Bed of Turf

A bed of roses is overkill. Now a bed of grass well, that’s something else. You’ve probably already lain in one already, if you had the kind of childhood where plopping down on the grass and gazing up at the sky (and making out shapes from the puffy white clouds) was a regular occurrence.

You don’t have to go all the way to the park to do that these days, because you can do so in the comfort of your own home or in your backyard with the Studio Toer’s Grass Hammock. The name pretty much says it all. It’s a hammock covered in a synthetic polyamide material that’s got the look and feel of grass.

The Grass Hammock is UV-resistant and waterproof, so you don’t have to worry about leaving it outdoors in the elements. And since it’s artificial turf, you don’t have to worry about weeds. It retails for € 365 (~$500 USD) from Studio Toer.

Grass Space Invaders Coasters: The Grass Is Always Greener on the Other Side of Invasion

These coasters make a very simple statement. If you don’t beat the Space Invaders, your ass is grass. And they are the cosmic lawnmower. Can’t beat the high score? Let’s face it, this game is turf. I have a million of ‘em… and they are all that bad.

On the other hand, these coasters are pretty cool. You don’t see the Space Invaders come in a grass version very often. These are the work of Etsy artist LoveFromCyprus.

These Space Invaders don’t even bother forming ranks. They all shoot solo from the grassy knoll. They measure approximately 5″(w) x 3″(h) and will keep your furniture free from damage – though you will now have a house full of aliens.

You get six coasters for ~$20.87(USD), or eight coasters for ~$27.82(USD).

Pot of Grass Pens: Prevent People from Stealing Your Pens, Once and For All

Do your pens go missing every once in a while, even though you’re sure you left them at your desk? Pen thieves are everywhere, especially at the office, so if you don’t take care and keep your stuff when they’re not in use, then chances are they’ll go missing once you leave your desk or cubicle.

My suggestion for your pens is to replace them with these ones. They look like blades of grass stuck in a plant pot, but remove one and you’ll see that it’s actually a pen in disguise.

Grass Pen

The pens come in three different shades of green to make it look like you’ve got actual grass in that pot. While people will eventually catch on that those are pens and not grass, they’ll still ward off would-be thieves because it would be extremely obvious if they go to work one day with a green grass pen in their pocket.

Each Pooleaf pen costs about $5 (USD), which means you’ll spend quite a bit if you want to fill an entire pot with them. They don’t come with the pot either, but those are easy to find anyway.

Grassy iPhone Case

grass iphone case Grassy iPhone Case
Time to mow the iPhone. The Shibaful iPhone Case has a grassy textured covering on a polycarbonate case. Apparently it’s “modeled on grass from Yoyogi Park in Tokyo”, which I’m sure is similar to your own grass- green. Although New York’s Central Park and London’s Hyde Park versions are in the pipeline. Demo video? Yep:

It’s limited to just 100 pieces and selling for about $60. With this case, if you drop your phone it’s ok, cause it always lands on the grass. Just don’t drop it on real grass, you’ll never find it. Especially in Yoyogi Park.

Kusa Grass Flip Flops were designed by Yashin, and look just like you’re walking around on grass. They’re made from synthetic turf and not real grass, but I can’t imagine that the real thing would last long stuffed under your sweaty feet all the time.

Never mind the fact that they’d be a pain to water and mow. And who wants weeds growing between their toes anyhow?

Shibaful iPhone Case Wraps Your Phone Around Yoyogi Park

Shibaful

Love the feeling of young grass on your feet? How would you like to experience the same sensation on your hands whenever you reach for your phone? That’s what you can expect when you get the Shibaful case for your iPhone.

It’s a lush case that’s modeled after the grass at the Yoyogi Park in Tokyo. The Shibaful might look like a novelty item, but it’s actually a functional piece of art of sorts. It’s made using electrostatic flocking, where five differently-colored fiber particles are dropped from above. This causes the formation of the distinct grassy texture of the Shibaful.

The greenness of the case also makes it a sight for sore eyes. The makers of the Shibaful explain that it’s the first of a series of cases called World Parks, which will feature grassy cases with the grass inspired from different parks all over the world. New York’s Central Park and London’s Hyde Park are next on the list.

Only a hundred of these grassy Shibaful cases were made. They will be sold at eight retail stores in Japan for 3,980 yen or about $40.

Grassy iPhone Case: Pocket Park

We’ve already seen a furry iPhone 5 case. But if you love plants more than Wookies, a Japanese company called Ag Ltd. has something for you. They’re making what they call the World Parks series, which are iPhone 5 cases that are modeled after grassy parks.

The first World Parks case is modeled after Yoyogi Park, a historic landmark in Tokyo, Japan. Ag Ltd. achieved the grassy look and texture by adhering five different colors of fibers to the case using a process called electrostatic flocking.

The first batch is composed of only 100 units. It will go on sale by the end of this month in Japanese stores for ¥3,980 (~$41 USD). If you don’t get your hands on one, don’t worry – Ag. Ltd. is planning on mass producing succeeding batches, which will be modeled on other famous parks in the world including the world famous Central Park in New York and the Hyde Park in London. I wonder if we’ll be able to tell which case was modeled after which park.
