Processing Power Then and Now: Moore’s Infographic

Did you know that the Apple Watch is probably more powerful than the iPhone 4? Or that the Samsung Galaxy S6 is five times more powerful than the PlayStation 2? Those are just two of the comparisons that technology education website Experts Exchange made in its new infographic about the processing power of some of the most popular devices.

gadget_processing_power_comparison_by_expert_exchange_1zoom in

The website arrived at its gadget currency exchange by comparing the CPU speed, RAM and FLOPS rating of the chosen devices. They’re not saying the Apple Watch is “better” or more useful than the iPhone 4 – because it sure as hell isn’t – just that it has a bigger brain.

I’d love to see a similar chart but for animals. I hope I’m worth at least two dogs.

The Most Popular Emojis Used On Twitter Might Surprise You

The Most Popular Emojis Used On Twitter Might Surprise You

Emoji Tracker is a site that details all emojis used on Twitter in real-time. It’s pretty interesting. And apparently, potentially seizure-inducing! That said, these are the top 100 emojis used on Twitter as of June 2014. Personally, I’m genuinely disappointed that Party Ghost didn’t make the cut. Seriously, people? If you ain’t using Party Ghost, you’re emoji-ing […]

Godzilla Anatomical Infographic Reveals He Has Heart… 100 Tons of It

I took my son to see Godzilla this weekend and came out of the theater feeling a bit meh about the movie. It reminded me a bit of Cloverfield in the way it was filmed in the city scenes. I sat there mostly wondering if the monster were real, exactly what would it be like on the inside.

Popular Mechanics has a cool infographic of Godzilla that sheds some light on the beast’s anatomy. Its heart would be 60 feet across and would weigh 100 tons alone. The giant lizard would have 530,000 gallons of blood coursing through its veins, and would weigh in at a whopping 163,772 tons.

The magazine also estimates that at rest Godzilla’s metabolism would generate 1.4 megawatts of power. While on a rampage, he would generate 37 megawatts of power. Lizard power!
