Even Princesses Have Facial Fuzz: Disney’s Princesses with Beards

Disney Princesses with Beards

I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but it seems like a lot of people are hung up on beards lately (remember the Super Beards that Braun used in their ads?) It’s not limited to human beards either, because cat beards are pretty hot, too. And while only men have beards in real life, BuzzFeed’s  decided that women can rock them, too, and came up with a gallery featuring Disney’s princesses sporting flowing manes on their scalps and on their chins. [Let's not forget it's Movember! -Ed.]

Meet the Bearded Mermaid, the Sleeping Beardy, Beardahontas, and more in his amusing gallery, which you can check out after the break.

If Disney Princesses Had Regular-Sized Eyes, They’d Look Like This

Disney Princesses with Regular Eyes

Normal is relative, and when it comes to Disney’s princesses, the feature that varies the most is the size of their eyes. Ariel has noticeably large peepers, while Cinderella looks like she’s got closer-to-normal sized eyes. But what about the rest of the princesses? Well, Jen Lewis took it upon herself to edit their eyes so that each pair would be proportional to the face of the princess they belong to.

The result is what you see above and in the gallery after the break. Needless to say, most of them look odd, but maybe that’s because we’re used to seeing them with their larger-than-life eyes.

Très Magnifique: Disney Princesses Decked Out in Pop Culture Halloween Costumes

Disney Princesses in Costume

As someone who grew up watching Disney movies and wishing for princessy stuff to happen in real life, I think this gallery of Disney princesses dressed in pop culture-themed Halloween costumes is nothing short of awesome. Most of the princesses stick to one persona. Some are damsels in distress, a couple are rebellious and angst-filled, while most are just too kind and have their toes stepped on by others most of the time.

So it’s definitely interesting to see another side of them, even though it wasn’t done by Disney. This gallery was created by Isaiah Stephens, who gave each princess a Halloween makeover by dressing them up in costumes that somehow reflect their character a bit. There’s Aurora as Daenerys Targaryen, Pocahontas as Katniss Everdeen, Snow White as Wonder Woman (she looks super!), Jasmine as Chun-Li, and more.

Check out more from the series in the gallery after the break.

Grumpy Cat is Every Disney Princess

Prepare to have all your favorite memories from childhood invaded by none other than Grumpy Cat. She’s a huge sensation on the interwebs and people young and old recognize her as the cat from “that meme.”

Grumpy Cat is often the subject of artwork, and she’s the inspiration once again in artist Eric Proctor aka TsaoShi’s latest gallery on deviantArt.

Eric’s work puts Grumpy Cat at the center of iconic Disney movie moments, from the Little Mermaid on her rock with the water splashing all about or that scene from Lion King where Rafiki is raising little Simba. (On a side note, I can’t believe that I still remember the baboon’s name after all these years!)

You can check out the rest of the series in the gallery below.

Disney Princesses Dressed in the Fashion of Their Times

There seems to be a lot of Disney-themed art these days featuring everyone’s favorite subjects: the princesses. One that’s currently making the rounds is a gallery of them twerking, but I figured I’d skip that to avoid ruining everyone’s childhood.

Instead, we’ve got a gallery by Beatrice Lorén, in which the princesses keep their dignity and show off their sense of style at the same time.

What makes Beatrice’s artwork different is that the characters have been dressed up in what was considered fashionable when their respective movies were released.

I like Cinderella and Aurora’s outfits best, but maybe that’s because they’re sporting such classic looks. Ariel looks particularly hip in her eighties wear, and Mulan’s get-up looks like something she would really wear, if she stayed in character.

Looks like Beatrice (aka bealor on deviantArt) did a great job. What do you think?

Dad Hacks Donkey Kong So Daughter Can Play as the Damsel and Save Mario

What would you do if you introduced your daughter to Donkey Kong and she was disappointed that she couldn’t be the female and save Mario? Would you just say, oh well, that’s the way it is? Well, Mike Mika wanted his daughter to have the game her way. So he hacked the game.

donkey kong pauline edition

His daughter wanted to play as a princess in Donkey Kong, like she did in Super Mario Bros. 2. So, like Kirk with the Kobayashi Maru, Mike changed the program and put together a patch that let his daughter play as Pauline, the damsel who is no longer in distress. In fact, she has a mallet, and she knows how to use it.

Check out the video. Mike is one great dad.

Haute Couture, Disney Style

Whoever said Disney and high fashion doesn’t mix obviously doesn’t know what Harrods is capable of. London’s leading department store recently called on the crème de la crème of designers to create Disney-themed ensembles fit for real-life princesses, and it looks like they delivered.

The outfits look stunning, but that’s not the only thing that’ll have your jaw hitting the ground.

Disney High FashionDid you catch the price at the bottom of the image? Who knew it would cost that much to be Ariel from The Little Mermaid?

The outfits get better (and the prices keep soaring) with the rest of Disney’s most beloved princesses. Personally, I like Aurora’s ensemble the best.
