Awamoko Pen Uses Soap Bubbles to Make Art

When my kids were really small, I found it highly entertaining to use gobs of bath bubbles to create little wizard hats and beards on their little chubby faces. The trick was to see how tall you could get the hat before one of them crushed it or ate a big mouthful of beard bubbles. A new device has launched that reminds me of that bath time fun and it’s called the Awamoko 3D Foam Pen.

The gizmo lets you paint animals and other objects out of soap bubbles, with more precision than you can get with your hands. The media needed to make the foamy art is the same hand soap you have in the bathroom already. There are also 3D forms available that you can use to give your creations a skeleton of sorts.

The pen makes the soapy bubbles automatically and extrudes the foam from its nozzle. While it was designed for Japan, the guys at EZShopEX have them available here in the states for $24.99(USD), with the skeleton forms selling for $7.99 per set.

Archaeology Soap Should Be Renamed “Primordial Soap”

Growing up, I wanted to be an archaeologist right up until I found out you don’t get to raid tombs and carry a whip. I still like finding lost treasure, these days that just means digging my phone out from under the seat of my car. For now, the deepest I’ll probably get to dig is through the layers of this bar of soap.

It’s called Archaeology Soap and it has three layers of different colors. Somewhere in the soap are a pair of plastic dinosaurs you need to unearth. The bottom layer has pumice, the second layer has bentonite clay, and the top layer is green. It almost looks like a brownie and I sort of want to bite it.

ThinkGeek is the exclusive purveyor of this dinosaur infused soap. Get your own for $16.99 per 3-inch block. I just hope it doesn’t smell like crude oil.

The Legend of Zudsa Ocarina of Grime Soap: Take This.

Growing up, my grandmother had all these heavily scented soaps sitting on her counter in the bathroom. I have memories of her losing her shit when I used those pink, rose shaped soaps to wash my hands. When I get old enough to feel the need to put fancy soaps in my bathroom, I’m totally going with this.

The Legend of Zudsa: Ocarina of Grime soap looks like a Nintendo 64 game cartridge. It has some sort of woods scent, which I can assume smells like mold and spices.

A bar of the fancy soap will set you back $14.99(USD) at ThinkGeek. It’s gluten free if you get hungry and want to gnash.

Poké Ball Bath Bomb Already Caught a Toy Pokémon

Last year we featured Digital Soaps’ Poke Ball soaps, which has toy Pokémon embedded inside. Etsy store Fizzy Fairy Apothecary has the same gimmick but with bath bombs, for trainers who choose fizzies.

The bath bombs are available in six variants: the regular Poké Ball, Ultra Ball, Net Ball, Great Ball, Premiere Ball and Master Ball. Each variant is tied to a particular scent by default, but the shop does take custom orders.

Pokéball Soap Has Pokémon Figurine Inside: Gotta Bathe and Bathe and Bathe…

Geeky soap specialist Digital Soaps borrowed a video game mechanic to boost its soap sales: random loot drops. The shop makes 2″ Pokéball soaps with a random Pokémon figurine hidden inside.

Just like video game loot, these figurines have tiers. In true Pokémon fashion, the rarest are literally shiny Pokémon. These figurines are coated in or even made entirely of silver or gold. Such figurines are worth between $77 to $170 (USD)!

That crystal, geode, whatever–that one!
Oh, that’s just my soap, dude.

Go for the topaz and crystal soaps if you want to hold something fancy-looking each time you wash your hands. You can opt for the geode-inspired soaps instead if you want something plainer.

Want, Need, Now: Water Draining Soap Holder

Water Draining Soap Holder

Looking for a way to increase the useful life of that bar of soap? Not that it’s a big deal or anything, but goopy soap is a huge pet peeve. Aside from, well, wasting good soap, it also makes washing your hands a difficult process. Unfortunately, it doesn’t make sense to dry the bar after every use (can you even imagine doing that?)

But here’s a bit of good news: a soap holder which does just that for you exists. The Water Draining Soap Holder basically drains away the excess water from the soap so it doesn’t slowly melt away in the holder.

One first world problem, solved. It’s available online for $5.25.
