This 6-in-1 modular tent made from recycled plastic transforms into a hammock, or awning whenever you want

Camping is all about location and weather, and those two factors can heavily influence how you camp. Sometimes it’s sunny out, sometimes it suddenly begins pouring. Your campsite could be grassy, muddy, gravel-filled, or even have a rivulet or stream flowing underneath. A myriad of factors determine your camping experience, and it only makes sense that your camping equipment/shelter adjusts itself based on those factors. Meet the Beluga tent, a shapeshifting, modular tent that can be laid out in not 2 or 3, but rather 6 different formats. You could use the Beluga (or parts of it) as a tent, a tent with an awning, a tarp, a roof-like shelter, a cocoon-hammock, or two separate open hammocks. Depending on the weather, the location, the number of people you’re camping with, and whether you’ve got a trailer/RV with you, the Beluga adjusts, modifies to give you the experience you need.

Designed to be portable, adjustable, and modular too, the Beluga easily transforms based on your needs. The tent accommodates two people, although its modular nature allows you to attach multiple tents to each other to create a large camping community. The tent comes with an inner enclosure, held in place using aluminum rods, and covered with an outer cover that helps properly shield you from elements like the rain or even the sun. To help extend the tent’s footprint, the Beluga even comes with an awning that attaches to the entrance, giving you a nice shaded ‘patio’ of sorts right outside your tent. The magic, however, lies in the fact that all these components, the enclosure, clad, and awning, can be used in a variety of ways. The awning and outer clad easily double up as two individual hammocks when you want, or a hammock with its own cover when you’re looking for some shade. You could even set them up as a roofed shelter away from your tent, or even use them as awnings outside your RV or caravan. No matter your camping setup, the Beluga adjusts to give you just the shelter you need… and even if you’re faced with inclement weather, or a damp/muddy campsite, the tent itself comes with an elevated entrance, so water or mud never seeps into your enclosure.

The Beluga tent is named after the beluga, a large white whale found in parts of the Arctic, owing to the tent’s white color. Some would say it’s sort of impractical to have a tent that’s white in color because of all the mud, dirt, grass, etc., but the Beluga tent wears its color as a badge of honor because it comes made entirely from recycled plastic water bottles… and to prevent the use of environment-harming chemical dyes, the tent just opts to stay white instead. Each Beluga tent is made using an average of 125 plastic bottles, helping cut environmental waste, and the tent even comes with a 2-year warranty, with every part being serviceable/repairable to increase its product life. Designed to be waterproof, the tent does manage to repel dirt and mud with ease, and that all-white canopy actually helps keep the inside of the tent cooler during the day too. In fact, the aluminum poles used in the Beluga are created with a lower carbon footprint too, so your entire camping experience is great for you, as well as for mother nature!

Beluga – 6-in-1 Modular Tent by Qaou

Made from recycled plastic, the Beluga is a multifunctional tent that can be used as a tent, tent plus awning, hammock, covered hammock, tarp, shelter and even more, depending on your needs and your imagination.

An Eco-friendly Tent

No Dyes

Textile dyes release large amounts of toxic waste substances into the environment, accounting for 20% of water pollution worldwide. This is why the Qaou Beluga is white and not dyed.

Even the Aluminum is Eco-Friendly

Anodization is a very important step: it gives materials better resistance to wear, corrosion and heat. To minimize these negative environmental effects while keeping a good level of reliability in the product, the team has chosen suppliers who practice an ecological type of anodization using an alkaline solution instead of dangerous chemical products. This treatment does not generate yellow fumes because alkaline solutions are neutralized quicker than the usual acid solutions.

This avocado-shaped tent was made for the camping life of millennials!

Even though they are technically avocado shaped, if you can bear with me and call them teardrop-shaped tents then your camping trip will be very ‘on brand’ for 2020! No, not because we are sad, but because it encourages sustainable traveling and keeps the gatherings small! Also, if you are a millennial then here is an avocado that is worth its price and will not interfere with your budget for avocado toasts or buying houses (if you know, you know).

You can find these unique tents in the Borgloon forest in Belgium if you are looking for a safer alternative to the usual touristy destinations post the pandemic. In fact, it has gained attention only now when people are looking to camp outdoors because it is safer, won’t require you to fly, budget-friendly and avoids the crowds. Designed by the Dutch artist Dre Wapenaar, these ‘Tranendreef’ tree tents blend architecture and sculpture into one functional structure. The tent is suspended above the ground and basically hangs on the tree like fruit. The guests use a ladder to get inside/outside. It can host two adults and two small children. Originally installed as part of a public art project called ‘Pit’ (hence the avocado shape we assume) organized by Z33, it brought art into the public space of Borgloon. The designer also created ‘field furniture’ – seating, washing, toilet, and BBQ units to complete the camping site with the tents.

They are low-impact and promote sustainable tourism as the pathway they are on also leads to the Castle of Hex. It makes camping a little more quirky and fun, since we are going to be flying for a while this is the only way we can ‘hang in the air’. A reader in our Instagram comment section also called it a Hershey’s Kiss for bears, but I think the bears in Belgian would be rather repulsed by green chocolate but if this was Los Angeles…maybe!

The AERIAL hammock tent lets you take your comfortable camping experience to a ‘higher level’!

The AERIAL A1 is a fusion of the best aspects of three separate products. It combines the safety and sheltering of a tent, with the comfort and carefree nature of a hammock and the tautness/springy-ness of slacklines. Designed by industrial designers with a true passion for the outdoors, the AERIAL A1 quite literally elevates the idea of camping. Rather than pitching tents in the ground, this one straps itself to trees (or even cars), taking your camping experience up a notch. Climb into the AERIAL A1 and you literally feel like you’re sleeping on clouds. The tent’s slackline structure requires you to stretch the base out so it’s virtually flat (unlike a hammock, which naturally takes a curve)… this effectively gives the AERIAL A1’s tent-bed its ‘spring’, making it feel like a cross between a hammock and a waterbed. The AERIAL A1 can easily be mounted over rocks, roots, or even a river. If the ground isn’t suited for tent-pitching, or if you just want to ‘upgrade’ your camping experience, the AERIAL A1 can quite easily be suspended above the ground. Conversely, if you’re in an open meadow with nothing to tie your shelter to, you can just pitch it onto land like any other tent.

The tent comes with enough space for one person to fit in comfortably. Its taut design allows it to have a long base, so you can stretch out without worrying about feeling cramped for space. The tent comes with a simple design that’s incredibly easy to set up, thanks to a single pole that helps define its shape, and a secondary smaller pole that gives it its width. Suspending the tent between trees is arguably as easy as mounting it on dry land, thanks to the suspension system that uses climbing-grade components and webbing straps that can easily be set up by a single person, can take as much as 440lbs of weight once suspended, and uses a 2-point connection on either side, keeping your tent from ever rotating or flipping over. The tent comes with two access points on opposite sides, that can be unzipped completely to give you an exhilarating view and complete ventilation. If the weather gets undesirable, the tent comes with a weatherproof fly-sheet that covers it completely, giving you and your belongings enhanced protection from wind and water. The AERIAL A1 comes with pockets on the inside to store your stash, and a gear hammock that hangs beneath the tent, acting as a shelf of sorts you can store your bags, bottles, and bulk in.

All these details culminate to make what designers Andrew Gardner and Jacob Campbell believe is the most versatile outdoor tent ever made. When packed up, the tent fits into a cylindrical casing that’s no larger than a tripod bag, and when opened, it provides you with just the right experiences, from its ease-of-assembly to its comfortable design and ability to store all your belongings, all while braving any sort of weather you may experience. The tent’s hammock-inspired format is a refreshing take on camping, giving you the benefit of a comfortable base/bed to sleep on, along with a view that’s most certainly going to ruin floor-camping for you!

AERIAL A1 – It’s a Tent, It’s a Hammock

The AERIAL captures all the features you find in a traditional tent along with the off ground benefits you get from a hammock. It is a lightweight portable shelter with a stable, horizontal sleeping surface that can be suspended between two trees.

Exceptional Comfort & Stability

The main feature that allows the AERIAL to achieve its exceptional comfort and stability is their unique, slackline inspired, suspension system. By wrapping high tensile webbing straps around the tree and pulling them back from both sides of the trunk the AERIAL is able to achieve a four point connection system.

Using this four point system, along with tension and two spreader bars they were able to create a sturdy, flat platform that feels most similar to a high quality cot. The webbing also provides spring like a mattress that helps absorb movement without being tippy. This flat sleeping surface allows you the ability to sleep in any position, back, side or even on your front.

The sensation you get sleeping in an AERIAL is like nothing else, the fresh air paired with its comfort is a new experience that you are going to want to repeat at every opportunity.

Comfort is More Than Just Sleeping

With AERIAL, no need for a chair, the stable platform works like a floating bench. The doors open wide, giving more than enough room for two people to chill out together.

Everything becomes more comfortable with the AERIAL. Even simple tasks like making your bed or packing your gear can now all be done at a pleasant working height. No more crawling around and backing out of a low cramped tent. The convenience of everything being up and off the ground is an underrated convenience that will save your back and knees and provide you a simple satisfaction you wouldn’t expect.

Most Versatile Shelter Ever

The AERIAL A1 is capable of adapting to any environment and can be used over any terrain. No level ground no worries, pitch your tent between the trees and sleep. You can now camp over rocks, roots and even rivers. The benefits of being off the ground are endless.

When trees aren’t available, the AERIAL can also be set up on the ground like a traditional tent. When on the ground this free standing tent features a 5” high tub floor design that is fully seam sealed along with two 17” vestibules that can be accessed from either side.

How Stable Is It Really?

Stable enough that a little kid can easily climb in!  Why is it so stable? Basically this setup is like a suspension bridge between two trees. The AERIAL’s stability is gained by connecting to either side of the trees as opposed to a single point like you would find in a standard hammock.

The AERIAL’s connection makes two trees into a four-point connection setup, once one applies tension the AERIAL becomes steady and unflippable even while using trees as small as 5” in diameter. The AERIAL has no set rotation points like you would see in a standard hammock and this creates a stable platform.

Traditional/Standard hammock tents elevated the game by getting campers off the ground but hammocks are not always great for a proper night’s sleep. They provide a cramped interior space that puts pressure onto your shoulders and elbows. Even the flattest laying hammocks force you to sleep on your back and then often curve your spine in unnatural ways. Spreader bar hammocks can help open things up, but become increasingly less stable and prone to tipping. The AERIAL A1 has been designed to tackle these issues while keeping the main benefit of the hammock: being off the ground.

AERIAL Features and Accessories

3x Internal Pockets – Inside the tent there are three well placed pockets to hold all your essentials. Two medium size pockets on either end and one “SKY” pocket that is the perfect place for putting your head lamp to light up your tent at night.

Removable Fly – This premium 40 denier nylon fly is lightweight, durable and has a 1500mm hydrostatic head waterproof rating. It is completely separated from the internal mesh body which allows for great airflow and prevents condensation build up.

Single pole setup – The AERIAL tent uses a single aluminum pole to support the canopy. This main pole, paired with a small ridge pole creates vertical walls that maximize internal space.

AustriAlpine® – These Austrian made buckles have a minimum break strength of 15kn / 3370lbs and are made from ultra lightweight alloy.

Rollercam® – This is not your standard cam buckle. Using a brass roller this cam eliminates friction allowing for much higher force to be applied.

Gear hammock – Keep your gear out of the elements, off the ground and easily accessible from inside or outside. It can be adjusted to fit small or large packs. The Gear Hammock also doubles as a groundsheet for ground setup, adding a waterproof footprint to the vestibule.

Underquilt – This underquilt provides significant warmth and wind protection from below. Having a cool breeze beneath you is a nice sensation in hot weather but not ideal when it cools down.

Compatible with Sleeping Pad – It is not by coincidence that a large Therm-a-Rest® fits perfectly into the bottom of the AERIAL A1. Though the elevated sleeping surface is very comfortable on its own, a sleeping pad will improve warmth from below.

Tent? Hammock? The Sunda 2.0 is outdoor shelter you can pitch on the ground or hang from trees!

Is it masochistic that I’m already dreaming of the outdoors and looking at products like the Kammock Sunda 2.0, planning my treks and camping trips in my head?

The Sunda 2.0 is an outdoor tent that can be used on land or in the skies. Perfect for any sort of weather, you can pitch the Sunda 2.0 up either on dry ground, or suspend it between trees during the rain or snowfall. I’d personally prefer the latter just for the view! Designed to house up to 2 people, the Sunda 2.0 uses a simplified architecture that allows it to compress into a duffle bag when folded. Assembling it is a breeze too, thanks to its three spines that use tensile integrity to prop the tent up. The tent’s longitudinal design easily fits people over 6-ft tall into it, while its robust construction and reinforced floor makes it practically impervious to damage from the elements. Crafted from Kammock’s specialized Lumos™ fabric, the Sunda 2.0 filters sunlight into the tent during the day, illuminating its interiors with a diffused light, while the fabric’s infrared and UV blocking properties keep you protected from sun damage. Designated intakes keep the tent ventilated at all times, while filtering out rain and critters.

The Sunda 2.0 comes equipped with pockets and slots on the inside to store your EDC and personal belongings. When on land, the Sunda 2.0 comes with an inflatable floor to make things comfortable. Take the Sunda 2.0 to the skies and you can simply ditch the inflatable floor to use its durable 40D ripstop nylon fabric base as your hammock-home, suspending it over the ground, or even above a lake or river, using the durable Python hammock straps that come along with each tent, for a room with a lake-facing view!

Each Sunda 2.0 comes with an adventure-proof lifetime guarantee on its construction, and ships in November this year, which coincides perfectly with the holiday season, and should honestly be long enough for this pandemic to blow over so we can all travel outdoors again!

Sunda 2.0 – The First 2-person Ground-to-air Tent

The Sunda 2.0 is both a tent and a hammock. Versatile, lightweight, and easy to use, it adapts to your needs in any terrain. With it, you’re equipped to camp on the ground or in air.

Advanced weatherproof construction, unique ground-to-air convertible design, and effortless, quick setup allows first-time campers and experienced backpackers alike to hike farther with ease and confidence into unfamiliar territory.

One Product, Two Shelters

A freestanding 2-person tent and 1-person all-in-one hammock tent.

The Sundra has an overall user experience to create an easy to use, incredibly adaptable and durable 3-season tent.

Lightning-fast setup and transition: Transition from a ground tent to a hammock in less than 60 seconds.

Simplified pole architecture: Exterior poles and sleeves boost wind stability during inclement weather and bolster a seamless transition off the ground.

Integrated rainfly: Eliminates excess weight and allows for set-up in a fraction of the time.

Bathtub floor: The bathtub floor is enhanced for strength and provides a waterproof barrier to protect against the elements.

Cavernous Interior Space

Sunda 2.0 is a spacious 2-person tent that offers the most liveable space of any tent in its category. With 34.75 sq ft of vast interior living space, Sunda 2.0 has room for two adults plus all your gear, kids, or dogs. Sunda’s peak height at 40 inches provides ample headroom and extends the full 100 inch (8 ft 4 in) length of the tent.

Eight feet of length means that there’s enough room for even the tallest camper. Most tents boast about sit-up height, but their high point is usually isolated within a few square inches before the tent wall starts to slope down. Sunda’s pole architecture creates a cavernous interior space without adding extra weight.

Weatherproof Protection

The rainfly is integrated with the tent body to eliminate excess weight. The rainfly is seam-sealed with high-quality Bemis seam tape for an extra layer of waterproof protection against heavy downpours. As a core structural component of the tent, the rainfly remains attached when converted from tent to hammock. This new design streamlines and simplifies the transition process for set up in a fraction of the time. In hammock mode, it’s an airy canopy and protection from the elements.

Convenient Two-door Entry & Large Vestibules

Two large tent doors offer easy in-and-out access while in tent mode or hammock mode. No need to crawl over your friend or partner in the middle of the night again.

The vestibules are 11% larger and provide more dry storage options without adding extra weight. For two ground campers, each person has their own designated space to stash gear or muddy shoes.

Amplified Airflow

Sunda 2.0 features two fly and tent body windows that are accessible from inside and outside the tent. On the rainfly, two additional tie back points at each entry allow for unobstructed peripheral visibility out of the tent and amplified airflow.

The tent walls are made from lightweight and durable Nannoet™ mesh to increase breathability, while still keeping the insects out. The tent walls double as a built-in bug net for 360º protection in hammock mode.

Sunda 2.0 also has katabatic venting, ensuring maximum cross-ventilation opportunities for cooler breezes to pass through the tent, or warm, humid air to dissipate prior to turning to condensation.

Color-coordinated Tent Poles

The tent pole architecture boosts wind stability and bolsters a seamless transition off the ground. Four color-coordinated DAC tent poles match pole sleeves on the integrated rainfly for a quick and intuitive setup.

Sunda’s pole structure maximizes interior volume for increased living space without extra weight.

Built-in Side Pockets & Gear Loops

On the interior, four built-in side pockets provide organization to store maps, journals, or late-night snacks. Mesh pockets are within arms reach in both tent and hammock mode for quick access to your essentials.

Across the tent, thoughtfully placed gear loops provide plenty of options to hang lanterns and additional organization accessories. Their Media Kit Organizer (available as an add-on) is designed to perfectly utilize these gear loops to maximize your interior storage capacity.

Lumos™ Light-enhancing Fabric Reflects UV Light

The integrated rainfly is built with our specialized Lumos fabric to provide versatility beyond waterproof protection. From the interior, Lumos acts as a light enhancing fabric to amplify the performance of a single light source for a brilliant glow at night.

While in the daylight, Lumos reflects and blocks infrared and visible light rays from the sun for a cooler tent interior.

Waterproof Bathtub Floors

Sunda 2.0 features a waterproof bathtub floor where the floor fabric extends up the sides of the tent walls, creating a raised wall similar to a bathtub. Sunda 2.0’s bathtub floor provides a base height of 4″ and extends even taller up to 15″ at the head and foot of the tent to provide additional waterproof protection against inclement weather.

It also includes a YKK snaps that secure the hammock line in place while you’re in tent mode. No more hunting for the line, so transitioning to hammock mode has never been easier!

The 40D ripstop nylon bathtub floor is abrasion-resistant, tear-resistant, and incredibly durable. The bathtub floor doubles as the hammock body equipped to support up to 400 lb for a safe and reliable hang off the ground. PU and DWR coating provides superior waterproof protection on the interior and exterior of the tent.

Footprint

Sunda 2.0 comes with a separate footprint to extend the life of your tent floor when in ground mode. Durable, 70D nylon taffeta footprint provides extra protection from gravel, roots, twigs, and dry rugged terrain.

Going Aerial is Quick & Easy

Sunda 2.0 transitions from ground tent to hammock in less than 60 seconds.

No tying knots, no second-guessing. A few easy steps let you take camp off the ground for your best night of sleep.

A hammock provides soft support off the ground and curves to the natural arch of your back. Python 10 straps and attached Kanga Claw carabiners are included with Sunda 2.0.

Materials Built for the Outdoors

The team has put a great deal of attention into the materials, components, and trims. They opted for the strongest, most durable, industry-leading materials for backcountry camping. Sunda 2.0 strikes a balance between innovative design, lightweight and durable construction.

The GerTent’s design bases itself on one of the oldest alternative nomadic homes from Asia… the Yurt

The Mongolian Ger (also known by its Russian name, the yurt) is one of those designs that’s stood the test of time pretty well. Developed as not a recreational outdoor shelter, but a traveling house, this circular gazebo-style tent allowed travelers and settlers to migrate from one place to another while literally carrying their house with them.

The reason the Ger has stuck around for so long is because of its ability to provide low-cost housing for all four seasons, while being incredibly easy to set up and move around with. Unlike most tents that style themselves on teepees, the Ger actually has vertical walls, giving you a habitat that’s easy to live in. Its design and construction makes it incredibly stable, while the ability to just add or remove layers of fabric around the Ger’s framework lets you use it throughout the year… even in the Mongolian and Russian winters. The Ger, or Yurt’s been around, practically unchanged in its format, for over 3000 years… Oovo Camping’s GerTent just makes it better.

Building on a format that’s been tried and tested for three millennia, the GerTent brings the traditional Ger into the contemporary age. It takes a mere 15 minutes to set up, but lasts all year round, providing a shelter that withstands all four seasons. The GerTent uses poles and fixtures made from extruded 6061 Aluminum alloy, along with 540gsm ripstop PVC flooring and waterproof + mildew-resistant Poly cotton canvassing around the sides and the top. The tent’s even been tested on-site in Mongolia, so if it can withstand Mongolian summers that go up to 104°F and winters that dip down to -40°F, it should work in most countries just fine! The GerTent is even tested for high-pressure rainstorms and high-speed winds. Its cylindrical shape helps optimally ventilate the space, while also evenly distributing heat in a way that makes it warmer in winters, and allows heat to dissipate faster in summers.

The GerTent folds down to two duffle bags that are small enough to fit into the boot of any car, but opens out to a tent with a 530 sq.ft. floor plan that can hold up to 8 people comfortably. The GerTent comes with four zippered doors, two windows, and two mesh-lined vents on the top. Tents can even be interconnected to each other to create modular housing units that can be used either for outdoor getaways, glamping, or while organizing events. The GerTent’s sturdy and stable design allows it to be used on river-banks, plains, deserts, mountains, or even inside forests. Its ability to be used around the year gives you the venture into the outdoors at any time of the year, and a 12-month warranty helps you ensure that you’ve got a product that can truly provide you with shelter all year round!

– Total Weight 35kg (77lbs)
– Water, Mold & Damp Resistant
– Sleeps 8 People
– Interior Fire Compatible

Sturdy architecture. Trusted for 3,000 years.

The Mongolian ger has a unique architectural structure with a sturdy round shape that was introduced over 3,000 years ago due to its hardiness and ease of transportation required by a nomadic lifestyle. Using this same trusted architecture, with improvements from modern innovations and materials, GerTent has successfully tested against the strong winds of the Great Plains of Mongolia and withstands the harshest elements of all four seasons.

Setup in 15. Takedown in 10.

GerTent can be assembled in 10-15 minutes by two people and can be broken down and packed away in as little as 10 minutes. Not only is this ideal for the nomadic wonderer, but it’s perfect for natural disasters and emergency response teams to set up base and aid camps quickly.

Can’t transport a yurt? You can with Ger.

Separated into 2 bags of equal weight, GerTent is easy to carry and can go pretty much anywhere weighing in total only 35-40 kg (77-88 lb). Let’s see a yurt do that!

Don’t be a square. Round is here.

GerTent’s round design invites a welcoming atmosphere that is convenient and communal. It also allows for optimal air ventilation and even distribution of heat.

Space to stand, meet, breath, and expand.

Sprawl out, stretch, hold a party, host a gathering, or even add on additional tents. With GerTent, there’s always room to live the way you want to.

Not 1, not 2, but 4 doors.

A distinctive feature of GerTent is the 4-way door that emphasizes an open design and increases accessibility. The porch has a height of 1.8 meters (5.9 feet), so you can knocking your head as you go in and out. The other three doors are 1.6 meters (5.3 feet) high and can become very large windows during the daytime, as well as divide each room into separate bedrooms and connect additional sleeping tents.

Complete with Sky Window.

Highlighting a key Mongolian ger feature, the roof is designed like the crown wheel of yurts which provides access to light and air. And don’t worry, it has a fly and mosquito repellent mesh protection to keep out those pesky pests.

Your campfire—INSIDE your tent.

GerTent is a 4-seasonal tent, therefore it is possible to make a fire in the stove during the cold weather to keep the tent cozy. You can also cook right from the comfort of your tent. A chimney made from non-combustible material will not burn in +200 degrees.

Attachable Front Porch

The porch can be connected to the front-facing door. In addition to using it for storage, it can also be used to sleep 2-3 people.

Room Divider

Since GerTent has 4 doors, 2-3 households can make their own sleeping area and use it as a room.

Tesla workers say they used electrical tape in Model 3 production

Let’s take a second to appreciate this saucepan’s detachable handle

jiu_frying_pan_1

If it wasn’t my job to talk about the Jiu Cast Iron Pan, I’d be looking at that GIF all day. The Jiu Cast Iron Pan comes with a detachable wooden handle, allowing you to use it with small ovens or on stovetops without the handle, and letting you directly snap the handle on whenever you want to lift or swirl the pan. With the handle, the Jiu looks like an elegant cast iron pan fit for the finest kitchens, and without the handle, the Jiu takes on a much more classy plate-esque avatar. All in all, the detachable handle becomes much more than just a gimmick, because the plate looks classy with it and without it too… and the handle’s working mechanism is a thing of sheer beauty.

The handle itself is a two-piece sliding unit made from walnut wood that grabs onto the rim of the pan. The pan comes built with a pretty large rim, allowing the handle to grab onto the metal without ever coming in contact with the food. The rim is also shaped in a way that allows the handle to grip on pretty tightly, so the pan doesn’t come sliding off by accident, sending hot food flying everywhere.

Both the handle and the pan have a minimal, useful, Japanese sensibility which truly makes the Jiu look as wonderful as it does. Its use of simple lines and contrasting materials creates a utensil that I’d sure love to have in my kitchen… and that’s not just the bachelor in me appreciating the fact I can now directly eat food out of the pan!

The Vuz Moto Tent shelters the rider and the ride

vuz_moto_tent_1

Imagine heading out for a weekend in the wilderness. You’ve packed your bag, strapped your helmet on and mounted on your ride. GoPro docked on the side of your helmet, you’re capturing the journey there, and you notice something. Gray clouds above you, the sky’s overcast, and it’s getting a little windy.

Soon it begins to rain and you’re at the campsite. You’ve set the tent up for yourself, but your motorbike’s out there in the rain, getting completely drenched and possibly even covered in mud and grime. Now that’s what I call an undesirable experience… which can be easily avoided by the Waterproof Motorcycle Shelter by Vuz Moto. Designed to be 12 feet long, the tent has a dedicated shelter for up to 3 humans, as well as one for your motorcycle, allowing you (and anyone accompanying you) and your ride to escape the elements. With a completely waterproof construction, the shelter keeps both rider and ride dry, even giving you a dry floor to sleep on. Four access points allow you to enter and exit from any direction, as well as park your bike in any way you see fit, given the circumstance. When the weather’s good enough to hit the road again, the entire shelter folds up neatly into a carryable package that weighs no more than 14 pounds. And that’s what I call a desirable experience!

The KarTent wants to make festivals like Coachella eco-friendly

A major problem faced by festivals is usually experienced after the festival is over. Cleaning up a lot and restoring it to its past glory can often be an incredible challenge as people leave behind things they don’t want to carry back, from litter to disposable items like cheap tents.

So imagine the amount of garbage a festival like Coachella or Tomorrowland or Burning Man generate with the kind of footfall they experience. To cut that non-biodegradable waste, two Dutch entrepreneurs designed the KarTent, a cardboard tent that was designed for the 3-day festival lifestyle.

The KarTent comes made from cardboard and is spacious as regular tents. The thick cardboard helps to provide structural strength, while being able to provide waterproofing that’s enough for a festival’s temporary timeline. Additionally, they don’t have any coating to ensure they are fully recyclable. “It will also stay dry during your event since the water will never penetrate and the structure won’t collapse.” says co-founder Jan Portheine. The cardboard pieces are easy to assemble and even customize, providing you with a uniquely personal experience at festivals. KarTent partners with these festivals, ensuring tents are delivered in bulk and set up before the festival begins, and disassembled, removed, and recycled after the festival is over. KarTent even plans on expanding its range to cardboard seats and litter-bins, all made from the recycled tents!

Do you need a special place to escape from the world? Maybe you just want to get away from the Internet for a while. That’s cool. Everyone needs a break now and then. Colonel Sanders feels your pain and has designed a very special bunker for you. Whether it’s the holidays and you’re sick of the whole family staring at their phones, or the apocalypse, you will find solace in this KFC Internet Escape Pod.

Just pack everyone in this tent, which acts like a magical dome to disrupt your gadgets. Once inside, you will actually be forced to talk with one another and look at each other. Do you even recognize each other anymore? Don’t worry, it will be shocking at first, but I’m sure you will realize that you do actually know these people outside of Facebook.

Make sure you have a large bucket of fried chicken to help you pass the time and ensure that the entire inside surface of this tent gets as greasy as possible. The Colonel is sprawled all over the roof and looking down on you after all. Good times. No, that’s not creepy at all.
