The Bruno works as a toaster, a barbecue grill, and also a table oven!

bruno_toaster_oven_1

Arguably an iPhone moment for toasters, the Bruno isn’t three separate appliances, but rather a 3-in-1. Looking nothing like a toaster, or an oven, and probably a little like a grill, the Bruno replaces three appliances with one, and adds a splash of vibrancy and color while doing so.

The Bruno comes as a clamshell appliance with a lid that hinges back when you open it. With heating coils on the base as well as the lid, you can use the Bruno just like an oven (except this opens differently) by even choosing which heating plate you want to activate. A grill plate sits at the middle, holding your meats or vegetables on it as you grill them just like you would on a barbecue grill. Open the lid, fire the lower coil, and you’ve got yourself an impromptu grill that works well with all sorts of food. Close the lid and activate both heating coils and you’ve got a toaster that toasts breads kept horizontally! The Bruno also comes with a removable crumb-tray that makes it easy to keep your 3-in-1 appliance in tip top shape. Choose between a classic white or a snazzy red to spice up your kitchen!

Happy Little Breakfasts? More Like Scary Little Breakfasts

Holy… what is this image that has appeared on my toast? Is that Jesus with a perm? No man, it’s just Bob Ross. I made it with my new toaster, which burns an image of the iconic artist’s face onto the toast. Though, to be honest that is a bit less impressive after you think that your savior has just magically appeared on your toast wearing an afro.

Yes, this is the official Bob Ross toaster from Uncanny Brands. Forget happy little trees. make happy little toast. If you’ve ever wanted to partake of Bob Ross, now is your chance. You can eat his bearded face and head.

Unfortunately, the image doesn’t really look that much like him on everyday bread. It actually looks kind of evil. Whoa. Wait a minute! Is it just me or does that look like Charles Manson with a fro? Yeah, I don’t want this toaster in my kitchen. In real life, it looks like a ghost from the 70s has somehow possessed my bread. If you must have one though, you can grab it over on Amazon for about $40.

Smeg’s toaster is 100% retro glory!

smeg_retro_toaster_1

It’s strange that the vintage Italian-styled design you’d associate with automobiles also finds itself being seen in kitchen appliances too. Following the lines of the Volkswagen refrigerator we saw and loved last year is Smeg’s retro-style toaster. With its curvilinear body, beautiful automotive hues, and generous use of chrome details (there’s a full chrome variant too that has my heart!), Smeg’s retro toaster embodies the classic Italian vintage aesthetic that we still see today with the likes of the Vespa and Lambretta.

Inspired by the design styles of the 1950s, the retro style toaster comes with a stainless steel ball lever knob that allows you to lower the bread into its toasting chamber, and a backlit chrome knob to choose between toasting, reheating, defrosting, and bagel-toasting. Pretty advanced for a product that embodies such a beautiful retro vibe!

Quite Simply, Tea and Toast

teatoast_01

As you might guess from the name, Tea & Toast is a kitchenware product line consisting of a water kettle and toaster designed as aesthetic compliments to one another. For many people, these are the only two appliances one needs for a favorite breakfast. These two are married by a clean, modern design language that merges seamlessly with your kitchen interior. The set also takes inspiration from traditional tableware – for instance, the water kettle’s base is akin to a teacup saucer. The base charging stations are also unattached, making the units easy to clean and clean around. Free of any frill, they’re a subtle addition to your appliance collection that you won’t mind making space for on your countertop.

Meet the Toast Master

sproaster_toaster_oven_layout

I don’t know whether the Sproaster is just plain silly or pure genius. A one-stop shop for all your toasting needs, this toaster has got a built-in knife warmer so when it comes times to put butter on your bread, it’s easier to slice and spread… and there’s nothing worse than cold butter crumpling on your toast creation.

Not only for warming up your bread and butter, it’s also a great space-saving solution for storing your cooking knife set. By combining the functionality of a toaster and knife block, it frees up valuable counter space. It’s definitely one of those designs that makes you wonder “why you didn’t I think of that!?”

One Rad Toaster

radiotoaster_1

I love a design that combines two unlikely functionalities but this one takes the cake… errr… toast, rather! It’s called the RADIOOO TOASTER and it adds a different kinda jam to your toast!

This hybrid concept is the perfect appliance to kick off your morning. Drop in your favorite bread slices for super-fresh toast AND flip on the radio for equally fresh morning music. In contrast to its modern ability to play Bluetooth music from your device, its cool, classic retro style harkens back to yesteryear!

Multifunctionality for the Morning Minimalist

grundig_01

As modern living spaces shrink, so grows the need for more compact and dual-functioning appliances! That’s the idea behind the Grundig Exclusive line by Sıla Tülay Zeytin. These common kitchen products aim to free up counter and storage space so you have more room to live!

The two parts in the series each serve distinct purposes. The central unit marries the functionality of a kettle and a coffee maker – a simple and natural combination. The same water that’s boiled for tea can be used in the coffee filtration process, eliminating the need for a stovetop kettle. As an added bonus, the other appliance in the series is a barely-there toaster that’s so slim you might miss it! Clad in black temperature-resistant material, they’re a sleek and handsome addition to kitchens large and small.

Finally: A Toaster For Bacon

Anyone that’s been reading OhGizmo! for any significant amount of time will know we have a healthy obsession with bacon. It’s not like we’re unique in this regard, but still worth mentioning our undying love of the smoked cured meat, because you’ll then understand our excitement at learning about the Bacon Express Bacon Grill. It’s like a toaster for bacon. It accommodates up to six slices of meaty heaven, and cooks them to perfection while simultaneously draining excess fat away, since it does it’s thing vertically. A slide-out drip tray and insulated door liners makes cleanup a breeze. It’s $40.
