This table is seriously bad-ass. It’s a handmade Ouija Board Coffee Table. Have a séance in your living room while you watch The Walking Dead or even something really scary like say Judge Judy. Ooooh. This DIY’er built this table almost completely from scratch. Here’s what it looked like starting out with just some pieces of wood.
Ok, now imagine that put together, sanded, and stained (cause we’re not showing a photo of those boring steps!) Next he drew the design, scanned it in and resized. Obviously it’s a huge deal to actually draw something like that, so props to you buddy because we have no artistic talent here. Then he printed it out mirror imaged on a laser printer onto enough sheets of paper to completely fill up the table.
Next he applied some sort of acrylic gel on top of the table and then laid the sheets with the laser-printed design on top of that. Overnight the gel absorbed most of the toner ink (and this is why he laser printed instead of inkjet printed) while the wet paper messily peeled off, leaving the design imprinted on the table.
Some sealant was applied to clean up the look and protect the image. Then 5 coats of poly to clear coat the top of the table and it was done. Awesome.
Even if you’re not into the occult or board games or anything like that, this would still make a cool as hell coffee table for your living room or den. Assuming you’re not freaked out by the Ouija Board because it knows…..everything. Just ask.

Sliding Door Power Outlet Covers
Here’s a cool little project one Japanese man created to tastefully hide the power outlets in his home. It’s a little sliding door made out of wood. Good idea for those rarely used outlets. He made a few different style like the center-opening Shoji screen style above and the single sliding solid door version below:
While they may be completely unnecessary, and definitely not a good way to childproof your outlets (unless you add a little tiny lock on them), they do add a nice Japanese style decorative touch to your home decor. If you want your own, find a handy friend or learn some woodworking. (via rocketnews)
Wood iPad Retro Television Dock
Check out this fantastic iPad dock from Valliswood. Designed to look like an old TV complete with dials and rabbit ears (remember dials?! you actually had to get up to change the channel) but with a slot to hold your iPad. A hole in the fold-down rear panel lets you run the charging cord through it. Handmade by a craftsman named Mario in Croatia from local trees- old stumps, broken or parted logs- none are from living trees. Beautiful.
Sawdust Cologne
Smell like a real man- smell like fresh cut wood. Introducing Sawdust Cologne Spray, the manliest cologne on this great Earth. Cause there’s nothing the ladies like better than a guy who just used some tools to split wood. Part of the Demeter fragrance library which has a variety of other interesting scents too. But nothing as manly man as sawdust.
DIY Wooden Bandaged Rubik’s Cube
Wow, what an improvement on the standard brightly colored Rubik’s Cube. This wooden bandaged Rubik’s Cube is a DIY Instructable that involves basically cutting and gluing strips of different types of wood on top of a regular Rubik’s Cube. A bandaged cube has several double-sized pieces (does that make it harder or easier to solve?). It looks really sharp and more classic than the very 80′s colors of a regular cube.
Stormtrooper Wood Deck Chair
Looking for a companion chair for your Adirondack Skull Chair? Well then look no further than this sweet Stormtrooper deck chair. Who wouldn’t want one of these sitting in their backyard or living room?
The chair was created by Got Wood Workshop and even has appropriate Imperial insignia on the arms.
Unfortunately you can’t buy this chair due to copyright and legal reasons but if you happen to know a local woodworker in your area, why not ask them to make one for you (and me)? Thanks.
Kikori CNC gantry router eyes-on (video)
Judah Sher's cubicle wasn't originally on our slate of scheduled stops during yesterday's trip to the Artisan's Asylum hacker space in Somerville, Massachusetts, but the man behind the Kikori CNC gantry router lured us in with a rather large piece of plywood leaned up against a wall, reading "Sindrian Arts Welcomes Engadget," our familiar logo carved out in big letters. The wood was cut in Sher's sawdust-covered space, using the Kikori, one of the more unwieldy devices in the space's 118 cubes.

Check out this badass skull chair by Bokusenshi. I’m no chair expert but I’m pretty sure this is the world’s most awesome Adirondack chair. Love the detailing on the arm rests, double skull action. It actually looks pretty comfortable too. We’re going to have to classify this in the WANT for my backyard section here. Heck, here’s a shot of it in the artist’s (Mathieu Naud) backyard in Winter:
The artist says he made it from “wood fences”, not sure if he’s referring to just the back or the whole thing or something got lost in translation there but either way great job.
