Explore the Himalayas as a Yeti in Google’s New Maps App

As Pokémon GO has proven, it’s a great time to get out of the house and explore the world around you. But if you want a bigger adventure than just walking around your town, you’ll find Google’s new app interesting. Kids will especially love it.

Verne: The Himalayas, is similar to Pokémon GO only in the sense that it gives you the ability to explore the world in a new way. Using Google Maps 3D imagery, the app puts you in the shoes of a 500 foot tall Yeti named Verne. You control Verne, and can do things like run up Mt. Everest in seconds, skate across icy lakes, chase yaks, discover interesting facts, use a jetpack, and more. It looks pretty fun to be honest. At least it should be entertaining for a short time anyway.

The interactive app looks fun, and if nothing else, should give you something to do while you are taking a break from catching Pokémon at any rate.
