Deal: Save 32% on the EcoQube C Aquarium

Do you love the idea of having an aquarium, but don’t want to deal with constant cleaning? This nifty desktop aquarium takes advantage of an aquaponic filter to help keep the environment clean, and your fish happy and healthy.

The EcoQube C Aquarium uses plants like basil or mint to act as natural filters for your underwater ecosystem, rather than pumps or mechanical filtration systems. This makes it not only more environmentally friendly, but easier to maintain.

The compact aquarium has an LED light which provides illumination, as well as necessary light to keep your plant alive. Fish waste products are used to create fertilizer for the plant, keeping the cycle running, just like it does in nature.

So if you’re ready to nurture two new lifeforms on your desktop, drop by the Technabob Shop and grab the EcoQube C Aquarium for just $114.99 – a savings of 32% off the MSRP.

Airbnb Shark Room: We’re Gonna Need a Bigger Bed & Breakfast…

Not too long ago I talked up Jaws to my daughter and told her how scary it was. We watched it and she called me a wuss because the movie wasn’t scary at all. I got my revenge the next weekend after we watched The Strangers. I busted into her room with a pillowcase on my head later that night. Payback. Regardless of what my daughter thinks, I’m not sure I could watch Jaws in this Airbnb room with real sharks swimming behind me.

Airbnb isn’t all normal rooms that you can rent, some of them are very weird. For instance there’s that Netflix themed room and the Batcave. Neither of those are as weird, scary, and cool as this Airbnb room, which is actually in the dead center of a shark tank.

As you sleep, sharks and fish swim all around you. Don’t get me wrong, the room is dry. I’m not entirely sure how you get into the round room though and I wonder if it gets cold surrounded by all that water. The room is at the Aquarium de Paris and you have to win a contest at the Airbnb UK site if you want to sleep here. The contest is open worldwide so anyone can win.

Aquarium Backpack Takes Your Fish to School

This is a backpack that you don’t take to school. Unless it is a school of fish of course. What you are looking at is a self cleaning see-through clear aquarium backpack that includes goldfish, rocks, snails and plants. That’s gonna throw your back out for sure!

This $500(USD) aquarium backpack comes from Etsy shop uvproductionhouse. They don’t say much about it on the product page, but this is one hell of a backpack. I mean, you can’t carry your laptop in it, or books, or anything else but fish, but it’s still pretty awesome.

This is the backpack you take to the local fair for when you win those goldfish.

Aquarium or Terrarium?!

duo_aquarium_1

Duo works on a very nifty principle. Symbiosis. That’s when two organisms or types of organisms live off one other, supporting each other. The Duo is an aquarium/planter that keeps fish healthy, while also using the waste eliminated by the fish to feed the plants. The oxygen eliminated by the plant then goes on to oxygenate the water the fish lives in. This beautiful cycle keeps both fish and plant healthy. What a beautiful design for a co-existence habitat!

The Legend of Zelda Aquarium Doesn’t Come with Fish or Octoroks

Last year, we featured Kelsey Kronmiller’s Super Mario Bros. aquarium. She followed that one with another aquarium based on The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, which can now be your fish’s Water Temple.

The 10gal. aquarium is decorated with a LEGO Master Sword and pedestal, decals and a background based on A Link to the Past as well as fake plants and gravel. It also comes with an LED-equipped hood, a 50w heater and a water filter.

Kelsey is selling the aquarium because she doesn’t have room for it in her house. More importantly she needs every cent she can get to pay her student loan. You can purchase it on her Etsy shop for $999 (USD).

Front-load Washer Aquarium Is Home to the World’s Cleanest Fish

Redittor lava_lump wanted something different for a home aquarium, so with the help of a friend, he turned this front load washer into an awesome fish haven. I just hope he doesn’t start the spin cycle by accident.

As he says, the project went “swimmingly”. Not counting the aquarium equipment, the hardware costs were for high tension cabling and silicone and LED lighting, which cost him $125. The cost for the aquarium equipment was $220. Not bad at all, and the broken washing machine was only worth about 50 bucks. And since you can’t just have regular old fish in a cool aquarium like this, he bought some “glo fish” to go with that LED lighting.

It looks like friggin’ Avatar in there. If you happen to be near Henrietta, New York, you can check the aquarium out in person at Rochester Appliance.

Rapture BioShock Aquarium: Under the Sea

Super Fan Builds is at it again. This new episode is sure to please BioShock fans and fish lovers alike. Previously, the folks at Tim Baker Creations built a Groot Swing and a Hobbit Hole litter box. Now they’ve made the undersea city of Rapture inside an aquarium.

These fish are going to love living it up in Rapture. It looks super classy and is full of great detail, including detailed sculpts of protagonist Jack, a Little Sister and a Big Daddy, complete with a bubble-powered spinning drill for an arm.

The build looks pretty awesome and this is a fun episode. What game fan wouldn’t love this as their aquarium?  These guys do great work. I wonder what their next project will be.
