Say No to Drips

wiwi_01

That little bit of oil overspill can make or break your favorite recipe. That’s where the Wi-Wi bottle comes in. It’s been designed to prevent drips and spills, giving cooks complete control while cooking. With its specialized nozzle, it also ensures oil drips back into the bottle and not on your hand, kitchen counter or the surface of the bottle.

The Science of Breaking a Bottle With Your Bare Hands

Breaking a bottle with your bare hands isn’t a remotely good idea. Even if you have experience breaking bottles with a punch, you could seriously hurt yourself, and even permanently damage your hand. However, it turns out there’s a way you can pretty safely break a bottle with your bare hands, by hitting it a certain way. The reason it happens is because of science, not because you have magical powers.

Mark Rober teamed up once again with Kevin, The Backyard Scientist demonstrate the phenomenon in this video, and try to figure out why it works by looking at theories people have.

As it turns out, it just takes the right amount of liquid in the bottle and just the right palm strike to the bottle’s lip. It’s a pretty cool trick.

CKIE Product of the week – Mobot Bottle

mobot_bottle_1

The Mobot may sound like some type of robotic product, but it isn’t. The bot comes from the word bottle, rather than robot. At the end of the day, the Mobot is a bottle with much more to it than you’d think. Its design may look outwardly unusual, but it’s your miniature gym. The water inside the bottle keeps you hydrated, but the bottle’s exterior can be used as an exercising apparatus. Its rugged shape gives it purpose, while also making it look eye-catchingly buff, much like you’d want to look after a good day’s workout!

This Milk Packaging Is All about Alien Cow Abduction

The only thing that aliens like more than capturing and probing humans is capturing and mutilating cows. Sick space scum! To celebrate cow abduction, I-Media, a creative agency in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, has created a clever concept campaign for Molocow milk. This could be the official milk of The X-Files.

The campaign brilliantly captures the famous alien cow abduction phenomenon in a sleek, fun and modern design. Sadly it is just a concept. I would totally buy milk that was packaged like this. Plus, you get a free UFO toy with every bottle!

It’s designed to appeal to kids, but the idea of aliens abducting Earth-based life forms is pretty scary. This is some udder-ly awesome packaging if you ask me.

The Full-auto Coke Bottle Gatling Gun

I can’t think of a better weapon for the zombie apocalypse than this full auto Coke Bottle Gatling Gun. Also, I definitely want the guy who built this, Joerg Sprave, with me as I fight off the horde. This gun packs a punch!

Joerg demonstrates his fully-automatic arrow-shooting gatling gun in this video. He made it using pressurized Coke bottles to provide the force behind the arrows. It is impressive to see it in action. You can unload the whole barrel or shoot them one at a time. Check out the video to hear about how he made it too.

I’m convinced that this guy can make a weapon out of anything. Another awesome job Joerg! I’ll take two as I hunker down in my anti-zombie lair.

The sleek and slick oil bottle

Barring the choice of name, the Proton olive oil bottle looks rather dapper, doesn’t it? With its wooden cap and minimal graphic work on a solid colored ceramic bottle, I would blindly buy this for the bottle design rather than the oil inside! Does that make this great design, or great marketing?? Hmmm…

Is this the end of single-use water bottles?

BU-Water-0

The BU Water bottle aims to bring users an alternative to single-use water bottles which are thrown away at an alarming number of 50 million each year. The innovative design encourages people to conserve resources with a reusable bottle that filters water on-the-go. Using traditional Japanese methods, the activated charcoal filter is made by simply cutting a piece of bamboo to size and placing it in a kiln. The lid is also crafted from bamboo, further eliminating the use of plastic. Don’t be deceived by its elegant glass-like appearance – it’s made to be rigid, lightweight and safe to quench your thirst from anywhere!

A Fabricated Forest

tetra_01

Today’s cities have way too many discarded bottles and not enough clean air! Why not use one to counter the other? The Tetraforest concept does just that. The design aims to enhance the amount of green areas in cities, by simply using recycled materials. A wall structure is created by connecting waste pet bottles with connection parts made from recycled plastic. Then, vining plants can be attached and thrive on the ever-growing wall!
