Coolbox Is The World’s Most Advanced Toolbox

coolbox-1

Last summer we told you about the Coolest Cooler, a smart cooler that integrated so many extra features that it went on to become the most successful crowd funded project of all time ($13.2M pledged!). Its existence seems to have inspired the Coolbox, a toolbox with a suite of features you might be interested in. They include: “a 12v rechargeable battery, two USB ports, 270-degree LED lighting, a 10-foot extension cord with three built-in plugs and an iPad stand. The box also has a Bluetooth speaker.” The lid is magnetic, there’s a powerbar, and even a whiteboard on the inside of the lid. And of course, there’s enough room to accommodate your power tools. The entire thing will set you back $179, with expected delivery in June 2015.

Storage Box Mario Mural: Super Storage Bros.

Storage boxes come in pretty handy for organizing our stuff, but who knew that you could create amazing art with them? At the 25th annual International stationery and office products fair in Tokyo, a British company called Really Useful Products decided to have some fun.

The idea was to draw attention to their Really Useful Box transparent storage cases of course, and what better way than to make a colorful Super Mario Bros. mural? It took a lot of colorful storage cases and a lot of time and patience, but the end result looks just like a Mario screenshot.

It would probably cost you a fortune if you tried this at home, but it would be worth it. Hit ITMedia for more images of this cool build.

Guy Builds Motorized Tank from Amazon Boxes

Upuaza Touryou likes to have fun with Amazon boxes. He previously built a model temple out of them. So it only makes sense that now he has built a tank. An amazing, remote controlled tank of a Type 97 Chi-Ha, which was used by the Imperial Japanese Army in the late 1930s and early 1940s.

Despite only costing him 1,500 yen (~$15 USD), it took two months to complete. It has tons of nice detail and is quality made all the way. The man is a wizard with an X-Acto knife. A paper model of this quality is impressive enough, but this thing is actually remote controlled and moves around.

This is the best way ever to recycle those Amazon boxes.

GNOME 3.6 arrives with new notifications and improved accessibility support

GNOME 36 launchesThe third update to the third version of Gnome may send numerologists to their calendars, but we're not that way inclined. Instead, the latest bump to the software adds a new Boxes application, a new notification system and an activities overview. It's also chucking in improved accessibility support in addition to the usual raft of tweaks and bug fixes you'd expect from an update like this. It'll be available from your own vendor (or distribution) soon, or you can pick up a live image from the official site straight away.
