There’s something different about this KTM

“What’s a transportation designer if he doesn’t mess with and personalize his bikes and cars!” – spoken like a true designer, Don Cammorata made some adjustments to the KTM 950 that can only be described as beautiful. Everything Cammorata has done here is outstanding – from the oversized dual exhausts and satin body finish to the cut-off nose, and orange accents dotted all over the KTM 950.

This bike shows us a little bit more of what’s going on under the seat, drawing our attention to that powerful rear suspension in the form of the electric orange coil. The adjustments to the overall body size itself are what turn this already sporty design language of the KTM 950 into a fierce, edgy, force of a bike to be reckoned with. The nose has been cut short, while the rear looks as though it has been squeezed in, bowing the seat a little further – appearing more compact and ready to go! With the removal of the front mud-guard, the vent is a lot more visible behind that mesmerizing headlight. A job well done Don Cammorata, let’s hope we get to see more.

LEGO Mechanical Keyboard: Clicking Things Is Awesome!

There are so many thing you can do with LEGO; the possibilities are nearly infinite. One of my favorite LEGO builds ever was a keyboard that Jason Allemann built which had LEGO keycaps. Now Jason is back with an updated version of his awesome LEGO keyboard, and it’s better than ever.

This time out, he’s updated the design to use clicky mechanical key switches, and then 3D printed special adapters which connect Cherry MX switch tops to LEGO studs. The result is pretty damned awesome:

Thanks to those adapters, you can make your own LEGO keyboard too. You can download the 3D file for the key cap adapters over on Shapeways here, and check out more about the build over on JK Brickworks’ web site.

These Suitcase Covers Ensure Nobody Will Take Your Luggage by Mistake

We’ve all seen the “Many Bags Look Alike” signs at the airport luggage carousel. You could tie a colorful ribbon around your nondescript suitcase, but chances are somebody else on your flight had the same idea. What you need is a way to make sure that NOBODY could mistake your luggage for theirs. These bag covers should do the trick just fine.

UK gift shop Firebox is selling these awesome Head Case wraps, which can be printed with a big image of your ugly mug, ensuring nobody messes with your bags. Simply upload a photo of your face, and they’ll screenprint your face onto these stretchy polyester Spandex covers, which you can slip over your roller bags.

They come in three sizes to fit a wide variety of luggage, with prices ranging from $26 to $39(USD). While they’re designed to be printed with your face, I see no reason why you couldn’t upload an image of just about any image you wanted – I’m thinking about ordering a bag with the face of Curly Howard from the Three Stooges on it.
