Phone Case Looks and Feels Like a Realistic Human Ear: Lend Me Your Ear

If for some reason you need a phone case with a realistic human ear on it, here ya go. This iPhone case is made by Los Angeles-based creepy body parts artist Sarah Sitkin. Seriously, check out her page. She’s into body parts. She made this case for an embroidery artist from Melbourne, Australia. You might say that she is lending her an ear.

The ear is supposed to look and feel like a real human ear. It sure looks real to me. At least this one won’t grow more hair as it ages and you don’t have to get the wax out with a Q-tip, so it’s already better than mine.

Power to the Pouch

pp_01

Currently available in the UK and Hong Kong, the Philips PowerPouch DLP7003 is a slim and elegant 7,000 mAh power bank for the Apple iPhone. The design is specifically conceived for recharging while holding the phone. The rubber-coated and corrugated surface gently rests against the back of the iPhone while the loop-shaped lightning cable connects the device. A USB-cable for recharging the power bank is discretely integrated into the housing and the same applies to a USB port for charging other devices with an external cable. The end of the wide and robust Lightning cable stands out as the visual focal point: a metal cap with an eye-catching, polished copper finish that gives it elegance and masculine style.

Minimalist iPhone Mount with the Mostest

db_01

Functionality, that is! Alt is so minimal that if there were any less it wouldn’t be a phone case at all! However reduced it may be, it still manages to protect your device from drops and scratches. Better yet, it’s also a mounting system so you can work and play hands-free as well as view notifications whether it’s in the car, mounted on the wall, or in your workspace.

Deal: Save 16% on the TurtleCell Headphone Case for iPhone 6

Carry around your earphones with your smartphone can be a pain. They get all tangled up, or fall to the bottom of your bag and you have to fumble around to dig them out.  The TurtleCell Headphone Case smartly combines protection for your iPhone 6 with handy earbud storage.

The TurtleCell includes a built-in set of in-ear headphones which can easily retract back into the case when not in use. This capability adds surprisingly little bulk to the case, which sports a stylish and modern hexagonal texture on back. The case also has a built-in kickstand for watching video content hands-free.

Deal: Save 49% on the HUSKK Quickdraw Phone Case & Wallet

While I’d love to say that I could stop carrying actual credit cards and cash and just live with Apple Pay, we’re still pretty far from that all-digital reality. At least you can slim down you pocket by combining your phone case with your wallet.

That’s exactly what the HUSKK Quickdraw does for iPhone 6 and 6 Plus users. Made from hand-stitched Italian leather, the case snaps onto the back of your phone, and adds two compartments for storing credit cards and cash. It can hold up to seven cards, and still keeps the bulk down in your pocket. The case also has a protective lip on front which lets you safely set your phone face down.

The HUSKK Quickdraw normally sells for $49 to $59(USD), but we’ve got it on sale for $25 for the iPhone 6 version, and $29.99 for the iPhone 6 Plus version over in the Technabob Shop, with guaranteed Father’s Day shipping.

Lights, Camera, iPhone!

I regret to say that the DSLR is probably dead. Smartphone photography, or “phonography” has become completely viral and convenient. Apple now plasters billboards with massive size prints of photographs clicked on the iPhone…and they’re good. However, they can be better. How, you ask? With Klyp, from Manfrotto, one of the largest makers of premium photographing accessories for the iPhone.

The Klyp is a shutterbug’s paradise. It’s a case that makes use of the iPhone’s advanced camera sensor, further pushing its abilities with attachments like add-on lenses and LEDs. Fancier people can even opt for the iPhone tripod.

No need to say cheese anymore. Your photos are going to look fabulous anyhow!

Impulse iPhone Case Packs Speakers

It’s really difficult to stand out from the vast sea of phone cases on the market. The guys behind the Impulse phone case have done just that. What makes the Impulse truly different is that it doubles as a portable speaker.

The funky bug-eyed iPhone 6 case adds four tiny bass-reflex speakers, along with an amplifier and audio circuits so you can crank the volume of your phone up to 11. The case adds a bit of bulk to your phone, but the tradeoff is a truly portable sound system.

The case has its own rechargeable battery and connects to your iPhone via the headphone jack – reducing the power drain and interference that can happen with Bluetooth speakers. It also has playback controls for your phone, and a built-in microphone so you can use it as a speakerphone. The button cover doubles as a hinged kickstand as well.

It’s really hard to tell from the prototype in video clip above how good the speakers will sound, but I’m betting the video recording process adds quite a bit of distortion based on past experience.

If you’d like to get an Impulse case, head on over to Indiegogo, where a pledge of at least $80 CAD (~$66 USD) will get you one of the first cases.

Smart Boy: a gadget that turns your iPhone into a Game Boy

Smart Boy 1

What started out as a series of silly jokes for April Fool’s is now a reality: you can quite literally turn your iPhone into a Game Boy now, cartridge slot and all.

The company Hyperkins and CEO Chris Gallizzi introduced this case that turns iPhones into Game Boys with physical controls and slots for cartridges, very much like the real thing. It is called the Smart Boy.

This is not a joke gadget, nor a trick, nor a mod: this is an accessory that has the purpose of playing Game Boy cartridges on iPhone screens just like the actual console, without having to run emulators or anything of the sort.

The company has also reported to be working on an Android version of the case, so a Nexus turned into a Game Boy might not be that far off into the future. Who knew that the more technology advances, the more we would miss the old one?

3D Printed Guardians of the Galaxy Walkman iPhone 6 Plus Case: Awesome Build Vol.1

iPhone cases that look like the Sony Walkman are nothing new. Thanks to Guardians of the Galaxy, Walkman cases that look like Star-Lord’s specific Walkman model, the TPS-L2, have become quite popular. But John R. Hazzard went the extra mile for and designed one for his iPhone 6 Plus.

3d_printed_iphone_6_walkman_case_by_john_hazzard_1zoom in

John used Autodesk Maya 2015 to design the case, sent the files to Shapeways for printing. After receiving the parts, he sanded and cut out a few of the parts to get the fit right and finally painted it to match the Walkman.

Despite the errors and John’s inexperience with painting, I think the case turned out quite well. Besides, he can always make a better version, and that’s exactly what he’s planning to do. Head to 3D Print to learn more about John’s case.

The iPhone Case Reinvented

A prime example of biomimicry, the exoskeleton-inspired design protects vulnerable areas of your phone and absorbs impact while leaving it virtually bare. It also makes the slippery phone much easier to grip and handle with confidence. Not only that, but it’s just plain nice to look at. Some might argue that the eXo iPhone case might be the first to actually enhance the phone’s existing beauty! DO WANT! Vid after the jump —>
