Link Wants All the Money in “Race for Rupees”

How many hours have you spent smashing pots in the various Legend of Zelda games in your endless quest for rupees? Too many. Even though there have been many short films, comics and cartoons about Link, they always leave this activity out for some reason.

Smashing pots for rupees is what it’s all about. Everyone knows that. Animator Callegos Yavolitak created Race for Rupees, a fan film that celebrates this. It is nice to know that we’re not alone in our obsession to destroy and gain in-game virtual wealth.

This is a fun little film and very well done. It’s sure to bring a smile to the face of any Zelda fan.

Legend of Zelda Stained Glass Light: All Are Welcome in the Church of Nintendo

This cool Legend of Zelda stained glass light is the perfect way to light up your game room or any room in your house. Just fire up your Nintendo console, turn the other lights out, light a candle or two and play by the light of this simulated stained glass window inspired by The Wind Waker.

The USB-powered lamp is illuminated from the base and powered by USB cable or AA batteries. You will feel like you are in a holy place for gamers by the light of this lamp. Pray to the almighty Miyamoto while you play and pay honor to Link.

The cost of admission to the Church of Nintendo is just $29.99(USD) over at ThinkGeek.

The Legend of Zelda is Coming to iOS and Android: It’s Dangerous to Phone Alone

If you want to play The Legend of Zelda on something other than a Nintendo console, we have some good news. The Zelda series is headed to smartphones, according to The Wall Street Journal. We just don’t know yet whether this is a port or an entirely new game like Super Mario Run. A new game seems more likely. Either way, this is great news.

According to WSJ sources, Nintendo wants to expand its mobile lineup and this franchise is next. The Zelda smartphone app would likely follow Animal Crossing, which may be out in the second half of 2017. So this is a good lineup of mobile games.

Of course Nintendo and mobile company DeNA are keeping quiet on the subject right now. It’ll be great to get some more Nintendo games on our iOS and Android devices.

Somebody Turned Their Zelda: Breath of the Wild Snapshots into a Coffee Table Book

Taking snapshots in game is fun. Many games have this feature nowadays including The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Someone took their snapshots from the hit Nintendo Switch game, and created a fun little coffee table book from them.

You can check out some of the shots of the book right here from Twitter user @WPR_haru who can now enjoy his or her gaming moments in paper form. The game is so beautiful to look at, it’s no wonder the images make a beautiful book too.

If ever they stop playing the game, they’ll be able to look back at their memories in book form. It’s a pretty cool idea if you ask me.

The Legend of Zelda Clue Board Game: It’s Dangerous to Go into the Conservatory Alone…

…take this pipe wrench. To add to the ever growing number of Monopoly and Clue variants out there, it is now The Legend of Zelda’s turn. Truly a link to the past. I suppose it’s a good time to unleash a Zelda version of the classic murder mystery board game thanks to the success of Breath of the Wild on the Switch.

Though in this version, it’s all mystery, and no murder. Here’s the setup: Ganondorf has stolen the Triforce and is threatening Hyrule. So to fulfill the prophecy and defeat him, you have to find out who possesses the power to defeat the bad guy, what item is needed, and where his hidden lair is.

You can pre-order the game now for $44.99(USD), and it’s due to ship around June 30th, so it should give you something fun to do when you are finished with Breath of the Wild.

This Deku Tree Piescraper Belongs in Legend of Zelda: The Pie Baker

What’s with all of the piescrapers in the kitchen skyline lately? It seems like towering pies are a thing now. I don’t mind though. When pies go vertical, there is more room for pie on the table. Like this awesome Deku Tree pie from PiesAreAwesome.

Like Jessica Leigh Clark-Bojin’s previous design, this one is not only a piescraper, it also uses a wire and foil armature to support the branches of the Deku tree. She thinks that this is the first time one has been used in a pie. So they have made pie history. Legend of Zelda history too, since this is the first Deku Tree pie I’ve seen. Amazing. And obviously delicious.

It is a true work of art. That should be devoured until gone. By me. Except the metal bits.

Legend of Zelda Barrel Arcade Machine: If Donkey Kong and Link Had a Kid

This barrel-shaped Legend of Zelda themed arcade cabinet is not only fun to play, but a great piece of home decor too. It comes from Redditor LetsbuildsomeShit. He is living up to his name big time with this awesome build.

This Raspberry Pi 3 / RetroPie-powered arcade machine is completely custom. I love how the map is behind the controls and around the screen. This is a beautiful build. If you want to try something like this yourself, you can find an overview of the build in the gallery of images.

Legend of Zelda Themed Barrel Arcade Build

This would look so good in my house. If only I had the time to build one.

This Legend of Zelda Tri-Force Mirror

It’s dangerous to go unkempt. Take this. This cool Legend of Zelda Mirror is shaped like the Triforce and is perfect for your bedroom, bathroom or game room – not that you’ll look at it much if you are playing Breath of the Wild for hours on end.

It is hard to believe that this thing can be used as a functional mirror with all of that etching on it, but who cares? It is a pretty awesome bit of nerd decor whether you can see yourself in it or not.

Sadly, it isn’t available in the U.S. right now, but hopefully that will change sometime soon, because it is great.

Legend of Zelda Rainbow Pie: Nintendelicious

To celebrate the release of the Nintendo Switch and Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild this week, Pies are Awesome created this colorful Princess Zelda pie. It looks delicious. I’ll take 10 of them please!

This special edition pie was made with basic apple filling tinted with gel food coloring and some edible gold paint. It also has Princess Zelda on top. It really looks amazing. Nintendo needs to hire PiesAreAwesome right now and start mass-producing nerd pies like this, that I can eat everyday. Because I will.

Don’t believe me? You do your part Nintendo, and I’ll prove it to you. Your move!
