One of the coolest books we’ve ever covered here on the big gadget blog is Vader and Son, chronicling Darth Vader’s adventures in fatherhood. Now the author of the book has licensed a maquette (small statue) featuring a scene from the book. This one shows little Luke Skywalker giving his Dad an (in)appropriate gift of a tie. Just what a Sith Lord needs- no need to do a Force choke when you could just pull the tie super tight. There’s also a statuette from his other book- Vader’s Little Princess.

Ahh look at little Princess Leia- she’s cut hearts into Darth’s cape. Each 10″ tall figurine is made of cold-cast polystone and is available in a limited edition of just 1500. Each also comes with a special edition of the matching book featuring unreleased concept sketches from the author Jeffrey Brown. Really cool little collectable for the Star Wars Dad out there.

Darth Vader and Son & Vader’s Little Princess Figurines: The Children Strike Back

Jeffrey Brown’s Darth Vader and Son and Vader’s Little Princess might be the cutest Star Wars retcon ever. The books feature a caring Anakin looking after Luke and Leia. Gentle Giant Ltd. is going to release a limited edition bundle of the two books, which will include adorable figurines of the Skywalkers.

The Darth Vader and Son sculpture depicts Anakin getting a Rebel Alliance necktie from Luke. It’s not like the Sith would have merch anyway.

Both the Darth Vader and his Son bundle and the Vader’s Little Princess bundles cost $150 (USD) each, but you can also get both in one set for $280.

Pocky is the greatest Japanese snack food ever. And now, they’ve somehow managed to make it even more awesome. Not only are these Pocky giant-sized, they are also Star Wars themed. These 8″ long Pocky come in three flavor/characters. Yoda (not pictured) is green tea flavor, obviously. Luke Skywalker is grape?! and Darth Vader is strawberry. Yes the colors make no sense in relation to the movies but just go with it I guess. Besides, grape is delicious.

These definitely make a better fighting sword than pretzel sticks (probably not pretzel rods, though- those things are tough as nails as far as snack food battling goes). Now since they probably don’t sell Giant Pocky in your local supermarket, and less likely Star Wars Giant Pocky unless you live in Japan or Naboo, you can buy a box here on eBay Giant Lightsaber Pocky: Snack Like a Jedi. Whether you’re on the Light or Dark Side of the Force, there’s one thing we can all agree on: Candy is good. Now, thanks to the confectionery makers of Japan, you can have your lightsaber and eat it too.

These new Pocky stick candies from Glico measure 8 inches-long, so they’re more like breadsticks than candies. They’re available in a three flavors to satisfy your sweet tooth, including Yoda’s green tea, Sith strawberry and Goofy Skywalker grape.

While they’re not officially available here in the states, you can find packs available for sale up on eBay for around $8 a box.

Glico is also offering a variety of other Star Wars inspired foodstuffs including some sort of Yoda and Darth Vader rice dishes:

This super simple yet cleverly crafted switch plate was made by mmm crafts. All it took was a black Sharpie and an idea. Also The Force, a lot of it. I wouldn’t even attempt this DIY unless you have extensive Jedi training or at a minimum a straight edge and neat handwriting. You’ve got Luke on the light side and Vader on the dark side. Cool and geeky home project- we dig it.

Star Wars Collectors Watches: It’s Time to Use the Force

There have been numerous collectible Star Wars watches over the years, and the latest batch has just found its way across the universe from a galaxy far, far, away. Or at least from the UK.

These new analog watches are made by Zeon and officially-licensed by LucasFilm. The collection include five cool designs whether you’re rooting for the Light or Dark Side of the Force. The line includes a Luke Skywalker, R2-D2, Boba Fett, Stormtrooper, and of course, Darth Vader. As usual, R2-D2 is all alone, and C-3PO is nowhere to be found in the collection. Each watch has a leather band, is water-resistant to 5ATM and comes individually numbered with a velvet-lined box and numbered collector’s certificate.

Naturally, the Darth Vader one is the coolest, with its black case, red face crystal and red accents. It’s also neat that the Skywalker one has a compass built in. Though I’m not sure that would actually to navigate through the Death Star’s trenches.

You can currently find Zeon’s Star Wars watches over at UK shop Great Gear Store for £125 (~$187 USD) each, and they should be making their way to more retailers soon.
