Save your Microwave!
I don’t know if I’m just bad at making tea in the microwave, or if it’s a problem for everyone, but the walls of the inside of the microwave oven look like a Jackson Pollock painting in sepia. It isn’t just tea, pretty much any liquid dish you heat/cook in the microwave has a tendency to splash all over the place, and let me tell you those inner walls of the oven are NOT easy to clean, no matter what those life-hack Facebook videos tell you.
The Hover Cover is here to change that. Acting as a lid for all your spill/splash worthy items that go into the microwave, the Hover Cover sits on top of them, allowing the microwaves to work their wonders on the food inside, without having it splatter outside. The best part is the Hover Cover’s magnetic lid, which allows you to stick the cover to the top of the microwave’s insides when not in use (hence the hover). It almost makes me wonder, why don’t all microwaves come with their own protective Hover Covers?!

What Happens When You Microwave an Airbag?
Inspired by a classic YouTube video, The Slow Mo Guys decided to deploy a couple of airbags in microwave ovens so that they could capture the destruction at 2,000 frames per second. It is an awesome idea, because who doesn’t love to watch things getting demolished in slow motion?
The results? Well, the first microwave is merely demolished, while second microwave’s door shoots off like a missile. These guys got really lucky, because at one point, they parked the microwave near the house windows and fortunately parts didn’t go flying through when the airbag deployed.
So that is your fun destruction for the day. You’re welcome.
Also, if you were thinking about installing an airbag in your microwave to protect your meals, something tells me that it isn’t going to work.

Colin Furze Makes Microwave That Plays Video Games While You Wait
There’s nothing more boring than waiting around for your meal to cook. Well, Colin Furze has a solution. The Play-A-Wave, a game console for bored chefs (no, not board chefs.)
Furze built an LCD screen is built into the door, which had to be modified with added shielding to prevent the screen from going all wonky when the microwave is on. Rather than building a console into the oven, he simply included audio and video ports on the front, and connected one of those cheap plug-and-play retro game systems.
The quality of the games leave something to be desired, but at least you won’t have to be bored and play with one of those stupid fidget spinners while you are waiting. This is a much better use of your time.
Just heat up that Hot Pocket or Hungry Man and play a game to pass the time.
Microwave cooks dinner in minutes!
Microwave cooking has seen a sad stereotyping. The thing is Microwave is a technology, not an appliance. However we’ve limited it to that one boxy, oven-ish appliance that we use to heat food. We’ve seldom exploited its true cooking abilities because of the oven avatar of the product.
That the Mu WaveRange does is takes everything oven-like away from Microwave technology. The conceptual WaveRange gives it a completely new avatar, promoting cooking of food, rather than simply reheating things. Made out of Metal, ABS, and Pyrex Glass, the appliance comes with a hub, and a rotating vessel in which you cook your food. The vessel is double layered, with metal on the outside, and glass on the inside, making it safe for use. The Mu WaveRanger even comes with accessories like a colander/strainer, steamer, and a microwave-safe metal pan for double boiling. Plus, with microwave cooking times, your food can be cooked completely in minutes!

Micro On The Wall
Innovative, creative and rethinking the spatial limitations of the current boxy microwave, we have here the Wall-Mountable Microwave Oven. If you ask me, I think this is a brilliant design, especially if the wall-mount is strong enough to take the weight of heavy dishes. When not in use, the microwave is compact and flushed to the wall. When you need to heat a dish, you simply pull down the tray, slide up the door and place your dish in the oven. After you’re done using the microwave, the unit retracts back into the wall.
The detailing in design is impeccable, for example, careful consideration is given to the corners a traditional oven, which is rectangular and since the rotating tray is circular, the outer frame has unusable, extra space. This has been eliminated in the redesign, and hence the new semi-circular design. Some of the parts are detachable and thus can be removed to be cleaned properly.
