LEGO Boba Fett Cosplay: He’s No Good to Me Full Size

The coolest dad ever created this LEGO Boba Fett costume for his 6-year-old son. It is based on the Boba Fett minifig from LEGO set 9496 – Desert Skiff for all of you non-LEGO nerds. It looks amazing and you know that kid is loving every minute of being in that bounty hunter armor.

The jetpack is removable just like the LEGO minifig and the entire costume is built from scratch using photo references and scans, and the details look to be perfectly accurate. The dad is even saying that there might soon be a Han Solo frozen in carbonite for little Boba to lug around.

I only hope this kid doesn’t step on a giant LEGO baseplate and get stuck.

LEGO is Coming: Game-of-Thrones Inspired Minifigs

Game of Thrones LEGO

Citizen Brick is calling this the “Dragon Sword Fighter Force” minifig set, but we all know what it really is: a Game of Thrones-inspired set of minifigs that features most of the characters you know (or at least, used to know) from the hit HBO series. LEGO isn’t keen on creating an adult line for their sets and minifigs so Citizen Brick has stepped in for the time being to satisfy adult toy collectors and builders for the meantime.

The minifigs are being sold in sets of three, so there are a total of four packs to collect. As a special treat, you’ll get a figure that looks like Mr. Martin if you buy all 12 figures at once.

Game of Thrones LEGO2

The Dragon Sword Fighter Force set of three minifigs are priced at $55, while the 12-piece complete set retails for $220.

D’Oh: LEGO Unveils Simpsons Minifigs

LEGO Simpsons Minifigs

LEGO announced that they were finally making a Simpsons set, with the promise of more minifigs somewhere down the line. Well, that time is here, as they’ve finally unveiled their line of Simpsons minifigs that includes all the characters we’ve grown to love over the years from Matt Groening’s hit show.

The entire Simpsons family will have their own minifigs (of course!), plus Milhouse, Ned, Itchy and Scratchy, Krusty, Apu, and Grandpa, among others. There’s also one of Ralph Wiggum with an “I-Choo-Choo-Choose You” Valentine’s card. Hit the break to get a closer look at the minifigs.

The Simpsons LEGO minifigs will come blind-bagged, so you won’t know which one you’re getting when you’re buying them. Each one retails for $4.

These Are Not Game of Thrones LEGO Minifigs: Dragon Sword Fighter Force

If you want to play LEGO Game of Thrones, you wish or you die. Nah, you go to Citizen Brick. The company that’s harvesting the fruits of LEGO’s refusal to create an adult line of toys has a series of minifigs with the awesomely bad title Dragon Sword Fighter Force. The familiarity is strong with this Force.

Heavily inspired by the characters from George R. R. Martin’s  A Song of Ice and Fire novels and HBO’s adaptation of said literature, the minifigs come in four separate packs with three toys each or as one big bundle of 12 toys. That’s not all – if you buy all 12 minifigs at once, you get a bonus minifig that looks like Mr. Martin himself. Though to be fair there are millions of men who look like Sir Typesalot.

Iconic Characters from the 1980s Reimagined as LEGO Minifigs

A lot of people grew up with LEGO. From putting sports cars together to building entire cities, minifigs and big imaginations took center stage during play time.

Tapping into this, artist Dan Shearn has created this fun gallery featuring some of the most iconic characters and movie personalities from the eighties, done up in LEGO minifig style.

Dan describes the project as follows:

This is a personal project based on one of my favourite childhood toys, and now my sons favourite as well, Lego. I love the iconic nature of the mini figure it has endured decades and is now a design icon in its own right. I grew up in the 80′s and played with lego mostly in the 80′s so i decided it would be fun to produce 80 mini figures based on my favourite 80′s icons.

From Rocky to Judge Dredd to the Blues Brothers, it looks like Dan made sure to include some of the most notable characters from that decade. Check out the gallery below for more.

3D Printed Jumbo LEGO Minifigs: Children of the Corn Starch

LEGO opened Cuusoo to let fans pitch ideas for play sets. But if you have a 3D printer, you don’t have to wait and beg for a minifig of your favorite character. Just do what Michael “Skimbal” Curry did and make the minifigs yourself. Skimbal even made his minifigs four times larger than the official LEGO citizens.

Skimbal started with a blank jumbo minifig and went wild from there. Although he hasn’t shared new models for about a month now, he already has several popular characters ready for you to download.

See that headcrab zombie minifig? Half-life 3 is a better bet than an official LEGO version of that. Or maybe not. I may be underestimating Valve Time. Print a browser then head to Thingiverse to download Skimbal’s minifig 3D models.

Lego Minifig Mittens Are Also Good for Robots

LEGO Minifig Hand Syndrome, or LMHS. It’s a common problem that afflicts many of us. It comes from playing with LEGO for too many hours straight. Your hand begins to cramp and before you know it, you have a LEGO minifig hand. But don’t worry. Despite your ability to grasp things like a robot, and your limited ability to do anything involving fingers, there is a glove for you.

lego minifig mittens 620x674magnify

These LEGO minifig mittens are perfect. They were made by Carissa, a crafter in Dallas. They are obviously inspired by the hands of LEGO minifigs. They will keep you warm and are also perfect for LEGO cosplay.

Don’t let LMHS slow you down. Wear these mittens. You can find the complete pattern here.

What Do Ron Burgundy, Sheriff Rick and Dexter Have in Common? They’re all Minifigs!

Looking to upgrade your LEGO minifig collection with some new characters? Look no further than miniBIGS for their latest custom minifigs made in the likeness of various pop culture icons. For starters, we have this awesome minifig of the mustachioed Ron Burgundy from Anchorman.

I only wish they made tiny versions of Brian, Champ, Veronica Corningstone and of course they need a LEGO Brick. Get it? Oh well, while we wait for those, how about a minifig Dexter Morgan? miniBIGS has got you covered.

The little serial killer sells for $18 and comes complete with a knife, syringe, and even an interchangeable blood slide accessory. With this tiny Dexter in hand, you can act out your own version of the final season that doesn’t suck. And speaking of shows that don’t suck, these Walking Dead minifigs are awesome.

walking dead minifigs 620x344magnify

The set includes The Governor, Glenn, Sheriff Rick, and a Riot Gear Zombie. You can buy them individually for $17.50 each, or grab the set of four for $60. While she’s not available from MiniBigs, I’ll let you in on a little secret. I have a Michonne minifig that I picked up at Chicago Comic Con this year, so I need to get The Governor just so I can reenact the scene where she turns him into a Cyclops.

As usual, each miniBIGS figure is made using the same quality printing technique used by LEGO, so they’re designed not to fade or scratch off. Awesome job guys! Can’t wait to see what you come up with next!
