The stereo uses a single DIN form-factor with a detachable face plate. The companion controlFREQ application turns your smartphone into a wireless remote control via Bluetooth. Using the app, you can stream audio directly from your smartphone to the car audio system, change radio stations, and control EQ settings for the stereo system. It also works for hands-free calling. The stereo system also has an integrated CD player that supports burned discs with MP3s and more. Specs for the stereo include 4x40W amplifiers, with both direct and pre-amp outputs.

Scosche Chargers Let You Leave Your iPhone Lightning Cable at Home

If you’re like me and tend to leave things in the car as you’re going about your day’s busy agenda, you probably hate carrying your only charging cable for your iPhone with you on the road. It’s nice to be able to keep the smartphone charged, but inevitably I end up having to run out to the car, in the cold at two o’clock in the morning when I realize I need to charge my phone. This is particularly bad now that I use an iPhone 5 since I only have a single Lightning-compatible charging cable.

Sure, I could buy an extra charging cable from Apple, but I would have to keep a USB to 12V adapter for the car as well. Scosche has unveiled a new line of products designed specifically for charging Apple Lightning devices in the car or at home.

The chargers are available in 12W or 5W versions with the higher power versions aimed at people using tablets. The strikeDRIVE car chargers have integrated DC adapters, while the strikeBASE home versions have flat folding prongs and are designed to not block outlets around them..

All four charging cables are available right now, and are priced between $24.99 and $34.99(USD).

Scosche RH1060 Bluetooth Headphones: Reference Grade & Wireless

There are plenty of Bluetooth-headphones on the market, but many of them don’t have the greatest audio quality. Scosche is going to try and change the game with their new RH1060 Reference Grade Bluetooth headphones.

The Scosche RH1060 Reference Grade Bluetooth headphones are an over-ear model that come with 40mm drivers, made from neodymium magnets and precision wound copper voice coiling. The ported sound chamber is supposed to provide the headphones with the precise air space required for optimal performance. They will work up to 33 feet away from your gadgets, and come with media controls to change tracks, adjust the volume, and play/pause your music. The buttons are conveniently located right on the right ear cup.

Their battery will give you nine hours of playback, and you can recharge via the USB port. They can also operate in a wired mode using the included cable. The RH1060 will cost $250(USD), and is expected to ship in about 1 to 2 weeks.

Scosche intros BoomBottle, thinks you’ll prefer sound over water during bike rides

DNP

Looks like Braven's BRV-1 ruggedized Bluetooth speaker just got some competition out of CES. Scosche has unveiled its BoomBottle speaker, which is indeed similar in form to your average water bottle -- perfect if you don't actually use that H2O holder on your bike or bag. This IPX4-rated "splash-proof" system lasts about 10 hours per charge, pumping out sound through two 40mm drivers and a passive bass unit. The BoomBottle is covered in rubber and TPU to handle light impacts, and houses a 3.5mm input if you don't want to stream over Bluetooth. No word on pricing or availability just yet, but you can also read it about it and the also announced RH1060 "reference-grade" Bluetooth headphones in the press release after the break.

Scosche is next up with Lightning accessories, brings chargers for iPads and iPhones alike

Scosche is next up with Lightningcompatible accessories, brings 5W and 12W chargers

If you've snagged one of Apple's new iThings complete with 30-pin dock connector-replacing Lightning ports, Scosche is the next manufacturer (after Belkin) to offer up a compatible line of accessories. The variety of car and wall chargers come in several 12W and 5W variants, with the more powerful ones pushing enough juice to quick charge those fourth generation iPads and iPad minis. Of course, while they can provide design alternatives like multiple ports that Apple's official hardware doesn't cover, there's not a price break coming with the cheapest strikeDRIVE car charger starting at $29.99, while the most expensive item listed is the strikeBase pro dual USB wall charger (pictured above) and lightning cable setup for $49.99. There's more details at the source link if you're interested in purchasing. Apple users let us know what your plan is -- making do with just the one new charger, slapping on a $29 adapter, or sticking with old hardware for now / switching to a new platform to avoid the new connector altogether?

Scosche’s Rhythm pulse monitor for iOS tracks your run, lets you change the beat (video)

Scosche's Rhythm pulse monitor for iOS tracks your run, lets you change the beat video

"Appcessories" is probably one of the more abrasive, yet devilishly descriptive, portmanteaus we've heard in recent years. But, if you're still not sure what it means, consider the Rhythm pulse monitor from Scosche a perfect example. The forearm-mounted device is a pulse / heart rate monitor with an iOS companion app. Working with some of your phone's inner smarts (like GPS), along with a dedicated accelerometer, the hardware / software combo logs vital data from your work out, which you can then share with the world, or enjoy broken down into detailed statistical analysis. If you've ever gone jogging with your iPhone, you'll know how fiddly it can be to change music tracks on the hop, so you'll be pleased to know the Rhythm covers that too. If this sounds like what your workout is missing, you can strap-up right away from any Apple or AT&T store (real or online) for $99, with other outlets, including Best-Buy stocking in time for Christmas.

Scosche boomSTREAM Bluetooth Speaker: Wireless Tunes with a Little Extra Boom

Bluetooth speakers are pretty convenient, since they allow you to share your tunes wirelessly and you can use many different kinds of devices, like smartphones and tablets, as audio sources. Scosche’s boomSTREAM wireless speaker is yet another option for streaming your music over Bluetooth.

The boomSTREAM speaker has dual 40mm drivers and a passive subwoofer to give your music a little extra low end. The speaker is the kind that goes anywhere, thanks to the 8 hours of continuous playback you get from the built-in rechargeable lithium polymer battery. Or you can give your smartphone an extra quick juice-up thanks to the USB charging port.

Scosche is selling this speaker for $99.99(USD). To put that price in perspective, that’s half the cost of the Jawbone JAMBOX. Only time will tell if the sound quality is as good as Jawbone’s offering.
