Sushi Socks: No Right Way to Eat These

As with many other aspects of their life, the Japanese have rules and traditions regarding gift wrapping. With that in mind, Sushi Socks serve as a fun peek into Japanese culture, beyond just their resemblance to the iconic food. As you can see, Sushi Socks are woven and then folded by hand to resemble sushi when packaged.

Here’s the interesting – and slightly disappointing – bit about these socks. Once you unfold them you’ll never be able to tuck them back to their food-like form. Unless you’re Japanese, in which case you’ll have to train with your master at the end of the first season, and then obliterate your enemies with your sock-rolling skills at the start of season 2. Then it’s time to test your skills against your rival, who is also your best friend, though you’re willing to kill each other in order to become the best sock roller in the world. But not before a trip to the hot springs so you can hang out with your other sock roller friends, who are also talented, but not as good as you are.

Sushi Socks: Looks Yummy Rolled Up and On Your Feet

Sushi Socks

These delicious pieces of sushi might just knock your socks off–literally, because you’re supposed to pull them over your feet and wear them, not eat them. Each one features a sushi pattern that doesn’t look too out there when they’re on your feet, so you shouldn’t be afraid to wear them, even if you’re not big on colorful clothing or socks with loud patterns.

It’s a completely different story when the Sushi Socks are all rolled up and folded in your sock drawer, though, because they look just like delicious sushi!

The sushi detail is knitted into the sock with colored thread instead of being printed. Seven versions are available: Masuzushi (trout sushi), Shrimp, Octopus, Red Caviar, Tuna, Salmon, and Egg.

The Sushi Socks are available for $5.39 a pair.

Dear Spicy Tuna Roll Corn Dog, Get In My Mouth
This is the Spicy Tuna Roll Corn Dog brought to us by Josh of Culinary Bro-Down. It’s an uncut store-bought spicy tuna roll stuck on a skewer, coated in a Sriracha and cornmeal batter, then deep fried. Basically 50% sushi, 50% corn dog, and 110% delicious. Amidoinitrite? Math has never been my strong suit. But […]

OMISE PARCO, a shop found in Tokyo’s Narita Airport, is selling these Sushi Baggage Covers. They’ve got Tamago, Salmon and Ebi. What, no spicy tuna? Sushi Luggage Covers

Many bags on the luggage carousel may look alike but not if you turn yours into a giant piece of sushi. These sushi luggage covers slip over your suitcase and give your luggage a distinctive look- like a delicious piece of sushi, right down to the rice. They come in a variety of sushi styles:

Just be aware if there are any nearly blind giants or hungry bears hovering near the luggage carousel- you wouldn’t want your baggage mistaken for tasty Japanese meal. In general it’s probably good advice to avoid any bears in the airport no matter what type of luggage you have. Blind giants too, I guess. Now all you need is some ginger, soy sauce, and wasabi. Wooden Sushi Set Offers Plenty of Fiber

While sushi is most definitely a finger food, you’re still not supposed to play with it before popping it in your mouth. If you’ve been known to play with your food, then you might want to check out this wooden sushi set instead.
