Surf’s up! Even without the waves!

Surfing and wakeboarding are two incredible sports that take a huge amount of skill to execute – but the downfall is you can’t just practice every day… if there are no waves, you’re quite simply out of luck, and you’ll just have to come back the next day. Radinn’s electric motored G2X Jetboard is the answer to all that and more. Hitting speeds of up to 34 miles per hour, this all-electric, environmentally friendly Jetboard is like a surfboard on steroids.

Taking a total of 2 hours to charge fully, this board is perfect for throwing into the back of the car and getting down to the lake. Unfortunately, that quick charge is directly relatable to the ride time – producing only 35 minutes of power at full speed. But don’t let that detract you, weighing in at just 88 pounds, this Jetboard is insane! In my opinion, I think it’s a great way to beat the traffic – simply Jetboard down the river to work.

A Dirt Bike You Could See Dieter Rams On

Minimalism is slowly making its way across to the automotive industry one bike and car at a time. And the Kalk Electric Dirt Bike is no exception. It’s quite simply delicious. Designed for light off-roading, this eco-friendly bike is somewhat of an art project if you happen to catch it from the side. The bike’s overall minimalism may be what makes it so desirable. The pastel grey/blue body frame is a minimalistic masterpiece which is used to shield the 15 kW mid motor, powered by a 51.8 Volt, 50Ah battery for torque and range – conducted by specifically developed and tuned software, for the controller and dynamic performance.

The light and snappy ride, with its focus on off-road and trail riding in the outback, means that its main character is about torque and acceleration while providing a quiet gliding and surf experience. Thanks to its digital presetting it ́ll let anyone fly at their own level. Available for preorder soon, the limited pre-batch has a number of unique features, where a majority of its alloy parts are CNC machined, together with the plastic parts being made of carbon fiber and then painted.

McLaren’s mean looking MSO X

mclaren_mso_x_01

Spotted, dotted and covered with pure exhilarating design, the McLaren Special Operations X (MSO X) is a bespoke collection of ten road-legal race cars, built for speed. Aesthetically edgy, and mean to look at, the MSO X is McLaren’s division, dedicated to helping push McLaren owner’s precise tastes and dreams to the edge. Having launched in 2011, the MSO program is somewhat of a most elite group of individuals – and you would have to be in order to purchase one of these bespoke road demons.

MSO offers five tiers, and the MSO X is easily the most exciting. Focused primarily on track racing, the road-legal race car has all the trims and details of something that should be covered in sponsorship. The large swoop along either side of the car breaks up this otherwise flawless body. While the drips of red that are carefully placed around the car help to highlight and accentuate features like the rear fins and the front hood lock. Quite a low body, and well evened out, the MSO X models look mean, and I’m sure they’re ready to do business.

A Biodegradable Breakthrough for Beer Rings

We’ve been promised biodegradable six-pack rings for years now and yet, no such adoption has been set in place. Fortunately for us, SaltWater Brewery have put their best foot forward and are the first brewery to adopt these rings, and for that, I applaud them for it. The Eco Six-Pack Ring is comprised of wheat and barley, being fully compostable. Safe to digest, these nifty compostable six-pack rings are not harmful to aquatic life or wildlife.

A though the rings aren’t harmful it’s advised that they are not eaten by humans. The company hopes to produce the six-pack rings with by-products of the brewing process – not only is this a nice touch, this is incredibly cool. The only concerns from E6PR is can they produce enough six-pack rings to keep up with demand, and with mass adoption only around the corner, it’s only a matter of time before we begin seeing them holding our miller lights together.

The Power to Charge it All

nomad_wireless_charging_hub_03

If you’re one of those lucky individuals who owns more than one high tech device that you carry around all day – iPhone, GoPro, Airpods, iPad and many more – then Nomad have heard your prayers and answered them gracefully. Conveniently charge five devices at once with the Nomad Wireless Charging Hub. The Nomad Wireless Charging Hub has a wireless top that charges your phone as well as four extra ports underneath.

Looking somewhat like a router, this wireless charger is the most efficient of its kind. I never thought I would see a wireless charger and think it looks perfect with more wires coming out of it, but here I am. Thankfully, due to the LED network on the top of the device, one can check if their device is charging and/or fully charger (the LEDs are orange when charging and white once it is fully charged). But of course, these lights can be a pain during the night, so Nomad has taken that on board and in-built an ambient light sensor that dims the lights in a dark room – how considerate.

A Minuscule Drone that Packs a Punch

If you’ve had your head in the clouds for the last few years, then you’re probably unaware that last year, when the DJI released the Spark Drone, it blew all of our minds. At a staggering .6 pounds in weight which was just nuts! Albeit the quality was never anywhere close to the Mavic Pro, sure, but it was hardly a burden to carry an extra .6 pounds around with you right? Well the good guys at DJI have gone another step into the future and provided us with the most dynamic three-axis gimbal assisted drone, the Mavic Air, weighing around 1 pound and has the ability to shoot videos in a stunning 4K.

The pictures of this are insane, its minuscule, how on earth can these be jam-packed full of goodness, capture insanely high-quality images and yet be about the same size as a pea. Not to mention it’s brilliantly smart – there are seven additional cameras on the Mavic Air that sense objects during flight, to the front and the rear of the drone, and work it’s own mapping around this to prevent a collision. Having trouble walking through the house without bumping into a door, it’s a shame I don’t have seven cameras. This little guy has a range of up to 2.5 miles and a 21 minute fly time, with a nifty remote to fit into the back pocket when it’s not being occupied by the Mavic Air.

Android Wear Has Never Looked so Good

The award-winning team behind the Ticwatch Android Wear Smartwatches have really outdone themselves with the latest Good Design Award Winner the ‘Express’ and the IF Design Award Winner the ‘Sport.’

Ticwatch E’s interchangeable watch bands make this addition to the Android Wear a perfect choice for those who want to adapt their watch to their forever moving lifestyle. The GPS is built into the watch case, which is made of top-grade polycarbonate, making Ticwatch E durable, lightweight and perfect for daily wear!

While the Ticwatch E is very versatile regarding lifestyles, the S is perfect for very active lifestyles. The GPS Antenna is integrated into the watch band, giving you greater accuracy for tracking. With a sporty bezel display and breathable watch band, the watch is both stylish and comfortable for anyone on-the-go.

As far as design goes with these two, there is a lot to be desired – especially if we put emphasis on the Ticwatch S and its sporty bezel. The seamless integration of watch body to strap is very slick and is light on the eyes. While the Ticwatch E has a funky new watch design in the form of transparent plastic. Although the internals are still hidden, it makes for a fun material choice.

Infinitely incredible!

Infiniti is always surprising us with features we can’t even see! And let me tell you this, the Infiniti Q Inspiration is doing exactly that – hiding the world’s first ever production ready four-cylinder variable compression ratio engine under the hood of what can easily be seen as a futuristic concept. It may look like a futuristic concept, and it should because they have just entered the future with the Q Inspiration.

Coming complete with an AI/semi-autonomous feature, the Infiniti Q Inspiration has a ProPilot assistant who helps with menial tasks like sitting in traffic or parking. So it’s super smart and super-efficient, it’s also super attractive. The Q Inspiration is inspirational – the rear of this vehicle just oozes a type of class rarely seen with futuristic cars, it’s keeping the mix of curvaceous and organic shape while the lights bring a more futuristic dynamic to tie it all together. This is a gorgeous car, and one can only hope it gets the recognition it most certainly deserves.

LG’s new ‘tablet’ has surround sound

lg_thinq_01

It appears as though the days of just walking into Best Buy and buying a simple speaker might just be up. Smart speakers are popping up all over the place, and this is no surprise with how advanced Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa are becoming. So what happens when the market for smart speakers becomes densely populated? Stick a screen on it.

This may or may not be the design thought behind the LG ThinQ Google Assistant Touch Screen Speaker, but I kind of like it. The ThinQ boasts a high sound quality from Meridian Audio’s advanced technologies on either side of its 8-inch touch display (with built-in Chromecast) and accompanying front-facing camera. Ideal for video calls through Google Duo, this smart speaker’s functionality is really determined by the room/activity you need it for. For example, if you’re cooking and want to see the recipe step by step, the ThinQ would be perfect – it would be even more perfect if you needed to hear it at full blast in ultra high-quality sound… With pricing and a release date yet to be announced, it should be interesting to see where this will fall in regards to the competition.
