Apple MagSafe Accessories that are the best investments of 2021 for tech lovers!

The arrival of the iPhone 12 and 12 Pro models was accompanied by the reinvention and return of MagSafe, and it became an instant hit! There is a great sense of satisfaction, in my opinion, to have things just stick to your phone. Be it a pair of earphones (maybe that’ll be the next generation of AirPods) or have your phone just conveniently stick to a charging pad – it’s almost like magic! The reintroduction of the MagSafe led to a whole new world of accessories being unleashed! Designers and creatives were racing to create a whole range of products for the repurposed MagSafe. And we’ve been loving every bit of it! From a MagSafe-compatible accessory that turns your iPhone into a nifty DSLR camera to a pair of TWS earbuds – there’s a MagSafe accessory out there for your every need. And, we’ve curated a bunch of products that we truly believe are worth buying and investing in. This army of accessories will truly amp up your Apple experience!

The Fjorden turns your iPhone into a hybrid DSLR. It physically snaps onto the back of your iPhone, giving you analog camera controls including a two-stage shutter button, a jog dial, a zoom slider, and even an extra multi-function button you can use to do stuff like trigger the flash. The overall form is comfortably tactile and grippy (and comes with the same texture found on cameras) and orients the buttons in a way that’s intuitive and easy to use (so you don’t have to sprain your thumb to reach the shutter button while holding your phone with the same hand). Moreover, the actual physical buttons allow you to use the camera with gloves on, an understated-yet-impressive upgrade to the iPhone camera experience).

The Snapods by Scendo are a pair of TWS Earbuds that come with a flat case that snaps right to the back of your phone. Building wonderfully on the capabilities of the MagSafe feature introduced in the latest iPhones, the Snapods make carrying earphones convenient. Just snap them to the back of your phone and you’ve got yourself a pair of earphones that are easy to store, quick to access, and hard to lose. The case’s design is inspired directly by where it’s located. Made to sit against the back of your phone, the Snapods case comes with a flat, wedge-shaped profile, making it easy to slip your phone into your pocket. The slim case doesn’t just dock the earphones, it charges them too, giving you an impressive 45 hours of playtime.

The NUMBER ZERO’s design comes with a clever bit of consideration that’s often overlooked by other companies. The mount’s design was created to look good even there’s NO phone mounted on it. Rather than just use that opportunity to slap a massive piece of branding onto the mount’s design, the NUMBER ZERO comes with a neat little kinetic animation that’s powered by the wind from the AC. The mount comes with a variety of animations to choose from, all of which feature a rotating element that’s powered by the wind coming off the AC vent at the back. The air from the vent pushes a series of gears that then cause the kinetic animation to gently rotate, allowing the NUMBER ZERO to look eye-catching even when the phone isn’t mounted in place.

Chau is a wireless charger that can be either mobile or stationary. Much like wireless chargers already on the market, Chau comes in two parts: a wireless charger and its charging dock. The charging dock can be plugged into any outlet and features two charging stations for Apple products. The raised charging station holds the auxiliary charger in place so users can either leave their phone to charge on the dock or dislodge the auxiliary charger from its magnetic port and charge on the go. Working from home, we don’t have all of the supplemental charging accessories that fill up the office and our appliances with juice. Chau is designed especially for new WFH circumstances, where we move from one room to the next with our iPhones in tow and our chargers left behind. With Chau, our iPhones can always have access to some extra battery juice.

Designer Abdelrahman Shaapan has an idea – Magsafe Storage. Designed to resemble Apple’s newly launched MagSafe Battery Pack (although Abdel came up with this design all the way back in May), the iStorage is a nifty wireless drive that lets you add extra storage to your phone in literally a snap. To most people, it would seem quite unlike Apple to release a product that competes with one of its other services, but then again, the iPad is constantly pitched against the MacBook by being referred to as the laptop reinvented. For a while, the AirPods and the Beats by Dre constantly competed with each other too. Similarly, the iStorage is ‘somewhat’ a competitor to Apple’s iCloud service… although it’s purpose-built to work as more of an offline-only storage system. Snap it on, and the iPhone’s internal memory instantly gets a boost. You can back your phone up to the iStorage, or just transfer heavy files to it, like a wireless pen-drive.

Apple MagSafe Battery Pack

Apple MagSafe Battery Pack

The MagSafe Battery pack comes in white with a subtle gray Apple logo on it (since it blocks the logo on your iPhone when it snaps on). It comes with a 1460 mAh battery on the inside (that can juice your iPhone up to 50%) and supplies power to your iPhone at a less-than-impressive 5W. The battery pack itself charges via a lightning port at its base and supports pass-through charging too, so you can simultaneously charge the wireless battery pack as well as your iPhone. Apple’s software cleverly manages the power delivery to both the devices, and when plugged in, bumps up the power supply to 15W-20W (depending on your charger), resulting in a faster charge. Given that it’s ultimately an Apple accessory, you can see your MagSafe Battery Pack’s overall battery level on your iPhone too (just like with other Apple products like the AirPods and Watch).

Dubbed a ‘wireless charging sandwich’ by The Verge, the Magnetic Dual Powerbank from Zens is quite literally the ‘meat’ in this equation, i.e., it brings all the flavor! The wireless power bank comes with not one, but TWO charging coils, located on either side of the device, letting you simultaneously charge two devices at a time. Zens’ Magnetic Dual Powerbank comes with an internal 4,000 mAh battery that’s good for 1.5 full smartphone charges. The power bank is MagSafe compatible on one side too, allowing you to easily snap your iPhone to it without worrying about alignment. The other non-magnetic side is good for your AirPods, or potentially even a second smartphone (if you’re that kind of person).

The Bellroy Mod Case gives your iPhone an aesthetic and functional makeover, cladding it in a grippy, non-slip leather robe that feels great to the touch, along with a snap-on card wallet that holds as many as 3 cards at a time. Designed to work with the MagSafe feature built into the iPhone 12 and 12 Pro, the case + wallet comes in 4 leather-tanned colors, with a flex polymer bumper around the edge of the case, and a microfiber-lined inner to protect your phone and cards from getting scratched or damaged. The Mod Case goes beyond Apple’s leather cases with its eco-tanned, full-grain design. It highlights the leather’s wonderful grain, elevating the iPhone with its premium choice of material. The case supports Apple’s other MagSafe accessories including its wireless charger and is purpose-built to snap on Bellroy’s Mod Wallet.

Meet the Fantom C, a MagSafe wallet designed to complement the Apple iPhone in durability and function. It comes machined from a Cerakoted billet of aluminum. The ceramic coating on the Aluminum makes it tougher and more abrasion-resistant, while a neat carbon-fiber finish on the surface of the wallet gives it a much more reliable and rugged appeal. Designed as a piece of EDC that pairs beautifully with your iPhone 12, the Fantom C gives you a dedicated space to store your cards right on the back of your phone. Magnets on its rear-side allow it to snap to the iPhone with a satisfying click, and at 0.31 inches (8 mm) thick, it’s marginally thicker than Apple’s own MagSafe wallet, but then again, the Fantom C is also capable of much more.

With an output of 15W, the charger matches the power delivery of Apple’s own MagSafe Charger, albeit with a sustainable twist. The Gomi Wireless Mag Charger works with all wireless-charging enabled devices, allowing you to charge your phone, AirPods, and any other devices you may have. Its MagSafe compatibility works with iPhones 12 and future MagSafe models, allowing you to snap your phone right in place, aligning the wireless charging coils perfectly for uninterrupted charging.

The NASA Apollo 15 watch is out of this world… no seriously. It comes with a dial made from meteorite rock

Commemorating the 50th anniversary of NASA’s first lunar road trip, the Apollo 15 watch by Xeric literally feels like you’re wearing the cosmos on your wrist. The watch features an absolutely stellar design, along with Super-LumiNova coated planetary hands and details on the watch face that glow in the dark like constellations in the night sky, sitting underneath a curved sapphire crystal glass that mimics the curved visor on an astronaut’s helmet. Oh, and on the off chance I forget to mention, it even has a variant with a watch dial made from a real meteorite.

Designers: Mitch Greenblatt of Xeric

No matter where you look, every single detail on the NASA Apollo 15 watch celebrates space and humankind’s obsession with exploring it. The watch face itself is littered with planetary elements that ‘revolve’ around the watch’s axis. The Apollo 15 watch sports an oddly branched seconds hand that looks like a constellation of stars rotating in the night sky, while the hour and minute hands look like two moons in orbit.

A grill on top of the dial mimics the window grille found on the top of the conical-shaped command module, and even the watch’s crown comes with a pattern mimicking the Lunar Rover’s tire-treads (after all the Apollo 15 was the first Apollo mission to carry a lunar roving vehicle to the surface of the moon) and the mission patch emblem on the top of the crown. Flip the watch over and its back features a meticulous coin-engraved representation of the lunar rover, celebrating its 50th anniversary.

As far as the watch itself goes, the Apollo 15 comes in two broad variants – an Automatic, and a Moonphase – both movements, notably, are assembled entirely in the USA (as a hat tip to the homegrown nature of NASA’s space program). Both of them are fairly identical in their cosmic-inspired design, except for the Moonphase which uses the central circular element of the grille to show off a rotating moon phase subdial.

The Moonphase is powered by the US-made FTS AmeriQuartz Caliber 7129 movement, while the Automatic is powered by the Xeric AmeriChron Caliber X3.1 Automatic, which entirely draws energy from the constant motion of your wrist throughout the day. True to its American-made spirit, the watches even sport authentic U.S. Horween-leather straps which pair beautifully with the watch’s 316L stainless steel body, and brilliantly enough, come with ridges on the straps, inspired by the ridged gloves worn by the astronauts on the lunar mission.

While choosing your watch, you get to pick between Automatic or Moonphase movements, as well as the watch’s overall color-theme. The Apollo 15 timepiece sports a variety of cosmic-inspired color combinations with rather interesting names like Interstellar (silver), Cosmic Nebula (green), Blue Supernova (blue), Moon Dust (gray), and the classic Black Hole (black). For purists and space enthusiasts, there’s even an all-white variant of the watch made from Cerakote, although the starry-eyed connoisseur will appreciate the Apollo 15’s ‘Meteorite’ sub-variant, featuring a watch-face made from actual meteorite rock cut into circular discs. As is common with meteorite rock, the dial features the unique criss-cross ‘Widmanstätten pattern’, caused by the iron-nickel crystals forming a long structure that reveals itself when etched in acid.

In celebration of the Apollo 15’s journey, carried out in 1971, Xeric is limiting their watches to 1971 units per variant (and just 999 for the meteorite ones because I’m guessing it isn’t really easy to source and work with what’s literally an alien rock). The watches are even individually numbered on the back, right near the relief artwork of the rover. The Apollo 15 watch follows the wild success of Xeric’s Apollo 11 watch, which managed to set a record as Kickstarter’s highest funded watch with $5 million in funding from nearly 18 thousand backers. Funding for the Apollo 15 watches is currently underway, starting at a Kickstarter-exclusive price of $269, or $599 if you also want your otherworldly watch to also sport an otherworldly meteorite dial. The watches begin delivering in March 2022.

Expand your iMac 24” connectivity with a front-facing USB hub that matches your Apple device color!

If the iMac 24-inch model has one disadvantage, it has to be the USB ports on the back. the HyperDrive accessory with color correct front-facing module for sure gets over that problem for good.

The sleek, colorful and stylish-looking M1-powered iMac 24-inch model is for the most part great – that is until you are left groping around the back for the USB port to attach an external hard drive, security key or memory card. That paucity of the Apple machine is now fixed with a third-party accessory by Hyper that’s mindfully designed – to say the least. If you happen to own the cheapest model of the iMac 24-inch that has only two Thunderbolt/USB 4 ports, then this makes even more sense.

Even though the more expensive configuration models add a pair of USB 3 ports, they still lack an SD card slot for times when you need to use it. HyperDrive 6-in-1 USB-C Hub for iMac 24” is the savior with five front-facing ports for the easiest access to memory cards, USB storage, and charging of gadgets. It even has a 4K monitor compatible HDMI port on the back to keep away the thick cords from view. Mindful design indeed, I must say again!

Keeping up with the modern data transfer requirements the accessory has 3 USB (two USB-C and one USB-A) ports capable of 10Gbps transfer speed. For added advantage, the hub has a universally compatible microSD UHS-I reader and SD UHS-I card slot. Charging your gadgets is also going to be a breeze with 7.5W speed compatibility from the USB-A port.

The USP of HyperDrive hub is the way it clamps onto the iMac, seamlessly blending with the footprint of the machine and bringing the practical front-facing usage. The best part I like is the seven faceplates with each hub to match the different colored Apple iMac 24” models. Not only do they look good, but make your digital life smooth without any frustrations of coming short on available ports every now and then. Certainly, the accessory priced at $79.99 is better than any other available on the market.

Apple Watch Accessories for smartwatch lovers to perfectly complement the upcoming Apple Watch Series 7!

A recent leak speculated that the new Apple Watch Series 7 may come in a 41mm and 45mm case size! This is just one of the many little tidbits about the upcoming Apple Watch that have been circulating around. Other rumors also include that the Apple Watch Series 7 may be revealed at Apple’s September 2021 event! And the potential redesigns for it have been getting us super excited. As we sit with our fingers crossed, with excitement lingering in the air, waiting for Apple’s latest smartwatch to make its debut, we may as well prepare for it. I, for one, am already looking for some pretty cool accessories to perfectly complement and jazz up the upcoming smartwatch. It’s already anticipated to be quite powerful, so why not give it an even bigger power-packed punch with an assortment of innovative accessories. From a watch case that looks like an iPod to an accessory that lets you wear your Apple Watch as an armband for an improved workout experience – these accessories are the sidekicks the Apple Watch Series 7 may just need!

Is that a new iPod?! Nope! It’s the Apple Watch in its coolest, old-schoolest external case yet! Joyce Kang and C.O Design Lab’s Pod Case gives the Apple Watch a much-needed history lesson, introducing it to the ancestor that started the Apple craze. The watch’s screen roughly matches the screen size found in classic iPod Nanos, while its body is only a slight bit thicker. The Pod Case, made in silicone, slides right over the Apple Watch body, giving it a funky throwback, while also letting you use the watch as-is. On the other hand, it’s a very comfortable feeling to use the latest tech with a product we have loved for a while. Obviously, the jog-wheel on the front is a dummy one (although it could work if it connected via Bluetooth), but the watch can easily be navigated using the touch-screen. Besides, this one comes with heavy-duty speakers of its own too!

Bellroy Leather Strap for Apple Watch

The smartwatch straps from Bellroy come with a durable elastomer base for comfort and to prevent slipping, but are then finished off with a wonderfully eye-catching eco-tanned leather top. The leather-elastomer blend gives the watch the best of both worlds. The leather brings back the watch’s most trusted strap material, giving the watch an authentically classic appeal, while the elastomer base on the strap prevents it from slipping on your wrist. Since the Apple Watch’s main hardware is fairly heavier than most regular watches, it succumbs to the effects of gravity, which is why having a rubbery base to the strap helps. A texture on the underside also promotes breathability, so the strap never makes your skin feel sweaty.

The NightWatch is an Apple Watch dock that comes with a massive curved glass element on the front that magnifies its screen. Dock your watch behind the massive lens and it makes your watch-screen larger, enhancing its visibility manifold. Designed to turn your charging smartwatch into a much more efficient bedside clock, the NightWatch does more than just increase visibility… it enhances your watch’s audio too, amplifying it to make your alarm much more audible. The NightWatch is a pretty simple accessory that enhances your Apple Watch’s abilities. It doesn’t come with its own charger but will let you hook your watch’s charger into it. Once assembled, you can easily slide your Apple Watch into its unique design, and that calibrated glass lens on the front enlarges the screen like a magnifying glass would, making numbers much more visible when your watch is in Nightstand mode.

Apple accessory designer Twelve South has released the ActionSleeve 2. The ActionSleeve 2’s unique design ensures the Apple Watch Series 4 (and later) always remains in constant contact with the body, so there is no discrepancy in tracking parameters on the Fitness app. Most of us would prefer wearing the Apple Watch in its default position and deem the band worthless. In fact, that would be the case until you want to put on a pair of boxing gloves! The ActionSleeve 2 armband is meticulously designed to give people more flexibility to keep using the Apple Watch when an activity or sporting gear may restrict wearing it on the wrist or lead to discomfort. “If you’ve ever changed your Apple Watch band, you already know how ActionSleeve 2 works: 1. remove your current Apple Watch band, 2. push the Apple Watch “body” into the back of ActionSleeve 2 and 3. strap ActionSleeve 2 on, tighten and go. Your screen, crown, and button remain fully accessible and functional.” Twelve South explains.

Inspired by the daily sunrise, industrial designer Taesung Yoon has thought of the 2 in 1 Apple Devices Charging Stand (yes, that’s the name of this accessory) that does what it says. Designed after feedback from the data-driven research and realizing what people actually want in their unified Apple charging stand, this accessory has been cleverly designed for form and function. The charging stand’s vertical stance with a slightly arched top means that the iPhone sits comfortably without the fear of accidentally toppling it over with an accidental shove. Likewise, the possibility of using it for watching multimedia content is also there. The same port is used for charging the AirPods Pro when needed. Right behind this port is the space for setting up the Apple Watch for refueling in style. So, you can charge your iPhone and Apple Watch at the same time.

The Grovemade Cork Apple Watch Dock is a refreshing take on the usual Apple Watch charging docks we come across. The dock has been created from premium materials, including the ever-sustainable cork! The Apple Watch dock is quite compact and flat, so it can easily fit into any space, including your bedside table or your work desk. The base was made using stainless steel, which features a sturdy anchor, that prevents your watch from sliding or falling off. The upper section was crafted from cork and has been equipped with a little divot in the center to cradle and support your watch. Not to mention, this dock design is quite stylish, sleek, and sustainable!

Designed as a pretty nifty throwback to Apple’s golden era of the iPod, Elago’s W6 stand is a perfect tribute to one of Apple’s most ground-breaking products ever! The W6 takes on a more recent ancestor of the Watch, the iPod Classic, which made its debut in 2001, nearly twenty years ago! A modern reinterpretation of the old plastic-and-metal device, the W6 stand is tiny and comes made from silicon, allowing it to flex as you slide your Watch in, and preventing it from accidental bumps or scratches with its shock-absorbing exterior.

The OMNIA Q5 is a nifty docking and charging station that replaces your drawer of cables. Designed as a slick, compact dock that can fit on even the smallest night-stand, or the corner of your work-desk, the OMNIA Q5 lets you organize and charge all your Apple gadgets at once, supplying the right amount of power to each one of them to charge them rapidly and simultaneously. Designed to be an integral part of your ecosystem of Apple products, the OMNIA Q5 acts as an organizer for your gadgets. It docks them in individually assigned areas (so they’re always neatly arranged) and charges them too – wirelessly for the most part, except the iPad which needs a cable with USB-C input.

With all the possible goodness – health and fitness tracking and everything – Apple Watch cannot click pictures standalone, it remotely triggers the iPhone to pull off the trick. This is where the Wristcam steps in, giving Apple Watch the ability to click pictures by itself. The front-mounted 8MP camera can shoot images in 4K resolution while recording videos in Full HD. The selfie camera can be used for video calling – or either camera for live-streaming. The Wristcam comes with its own 8GB of storage and a battery good enough for a day’s fun. According to the company, the Wristcam is water-resistant up to 1-metre, it connects to the Apple Watch over Bluetooth Low Energy, and with the iPhone via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi.

Like all of Satechi’s products, the USB-C Magnetic Charging Dock comes with Apple-certified MFI charging and works across all generations of the Apple Watch. The dock plugs right into the side of the iPad Pro or the MacBook Pro, although you could just as easily use it with any power bank too. The sleek aluminum design does a pretty good job of blending in with Apple’s design language, while inbuilt magnets securely hold onto your watch as it charges, allowing you to dock your iPad on a stand without worrying about the watch slipping or falling off. Neat, eh? Maybe you could even use it as a small extended display too, running a timer, your clock, or the weather app right beside your screen as you work or browse the web!

The Top 10 men’s lifestyle products of 2021 that are must-have essentials for all gentleman!

A gentleman is defined by the products he carries on himself and uses, which are an extension of his own personal style. These little belongings add to his aura, charisma, and of course, incorporate value and functionality into his daily life. Hence striking a unique balance between functionality and style is extremely important – especially when it comes to men’s lifestyle designs. And we do believe we may have found a collection of product designs that harmoniously capture this balance! From a portable shaver with ceramic blades to give you the perfect clean shave to a luxury timepiece made almost entirely from sapphire crystal – this collection of designs are essential must-haves for all the gentlemen out there. They promise to up your style quotient while helping you take better care of yourself and carry out your daily tasks with much more ease.

Deemed the Erazor, this portable shaver promises to do everything its name signifies! It was designed to erase the stubble right off your face. It’s supposed to be the first shaver amped with ceramic blades! This portable grooming device comes in a nifty and compact form, making it extremely easy to carry around with you, but also super comfortable to use. The unique ceramic blades neatly and swiftly trim down your pesky stubble, leaving you with a completely clean shave, without hurting you or causing any razor burns! These ceramic blades are a wonderful addition to the shaver, as traditional shavers are usually equipped with metal blades, which are coated with DLC for sharpness. But over time the coating wears off, leaving the blades dull and prone to nicking you. Erazor’s innovative blades are created from Zirconium Oxide, a material whose durability is second to only diamonds. Pretty cool, no?

A Parisian watchmaker called Abraham-Louis Breguet invented the Tourbillon almost 200 years ago, little did he know it would become one of the most luxurious and premium additions that could be made to a watch in the 21st century. However Japan-based watchmakers ZEROOTIME are creating their own economical and affordable Skeleton Tourbillon Watches. Their 2021 series is called ‘The Archer’, and it comes in two styles – the T1 Archer which has been equipped with a circular body, and the T2 Square which features a square body. Both watches boast of an elegantly bare skeleton design that lets you see the artistry underneath the dial. The watches showcase the tourbillons at the 9 o’clock position (which is rather rare, given most watches prefer to put it at the 6 o’clock position) and have double-springs located at 1 o’clock and 5 o’clock positions, giving the watch a power reserve of 72 hours.

The Seeon 180° backpack is easily the most advanced bag I’ve ever seen. The fact that it carries your luggage from point A to point B is an incredibly small part of what the Seeon 180° backpack does, but an incredibly important one too. You could be a businessman carrying important documents, a woman with her valuables, or just someone unluckily venturing through a shady neighborhood. Seeon 180° has its own surveillance system to keep an eye on people approaching you from behind, a motion sensor that can detect objects or people moving towards you, an alarm system that activates in emergency situations during altercations, assaults, or muggings, and a GPS tracking device that can send your location (or your bag’s location) to an emergency contact list in case of an emergency. The bag even has solar panels and a built-in power bank to allow these features to operate, as well as to charge your gadgets

The Bellroy Mod Case features a stunning non-slip eco-tanned leather exterior that perfectly clads and protects your iPhone, while also making it look aesthetically pleasing. The case is accompanied by a snap-on card wallet that can hold 3 cards in one go. The Mod Case has been designed to work with the MagSafe feature found on the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro. A flex polymer bumper and a microfiber-lined inner pair up together to completely protect your phone and cards from scratches. Unlike Apple’s MagSafe accessories which tend to slide around, once snapped into place, the Mod Wallet does not move around at all. This is due to two anti-slide grooves that ensure your cards are always safe and secure, no matter where you place your phone!

The Spotify x Reebok Zig Kinetica Ultrasounds Collection features three super cool sneakers (each inspired by the city of Atlanta, Houston, and New York), each one printed with a Spotify barcode that can be scanned using a smartphone, allowing you to access a playlist inspired by one of the aforementioned cities! You can listen to each cities’ unique style of music on the Spotify app. The three styles of the collection include New York Minute – a black upper with the colorful midsole, the lemony Atlanta Lemon Pepper, and the grape punch-style Houston Candy Paint. These stunning sneakers not only celebrate the beauty and culture of these cities but also transports you to them, allowing you to immerse into them, without even entering them!

Playing on the concept of a skeleton watch (where the watch’s inner mechanisms are exposed instead of being concealed behind opaque materials), the BR 01 Cyber Skull Sapphire comes with a proper skeleton motif on its watch face. Staying true, however, to the idea of a skeletal watch, the skeleton motif is made from sapphire (with a tinted orange back), as is the rest of the watch’s body. In fact, probably the only things that aren’t made from sapphire are the hands, mechanism, screws, and watch straps. Every element that’s either decorative or is a part of the watch’s casing, is made from sapphire crystal, making the BR 01 Cyber Skull Sapphire look like a jewel on your wrist.

The Tool Ring is a nifty EDC that you slip onto your fingers, and instantly gain all sorts of superpowers – from opening bottles to tightening screws, and even signing documents! Built from Titanium, you can fit a whole set of hex-bits into the Tool Ring (they come along with it). These hex-bits include a Philips-head screwdriver, a ballpoint pen, a box-cutter, and a flashlight. Three hexagonal slots in the ring allow you to slide the various hex-bits into it, enabling you to use the instrument of your choice! The top slot offers the most functionality, allowing you to do things like twist screws, point the flashlight, or even cut open boxes with a fair deal of dexterity. The Tool Ring is an amazing piece of EDC, incorporated into the form of jewelry, allowing you to utilize a variety of tools, without having to handle the actual instruments. How cool is that?

If you have a pair of pants that you completely adore, but can never wear because they almost always slip off your waist, then worry not, Bucqle is here to the rescue! It’s a metal buckle that clips around the waist-rim of your pants and tightens it by as much as 2 inches. The Bucqle’s radical redesign isn’t just different, it’s exceptionally better. The Bucqle slips right into your pant and clamps shut, showing up as just a minimal-looking silver bar right above your pants. It works equally well with formal pants as it does with shorts, skirts, and even pajamas if you’re determined.

It’s safe to say that the DUPLEX bags bring a rather new definition to the term ‘expansion packs’! With their unique shape-shifting design, DUPLEX’s bags can go from compact to spacious in roughly 5 seconds, covering a wide variety of use-cases. Maybe on some days you need a tiny shoulder-sling, on other days you need a backpack, and on some special days, you could use a duffle bag. Well, DUPLEX’s design was made to cover just that, with the way it’s built. The bags are designed in a way that they tuck into themselves, transforming into a new type of bag altogether. This essentially means you’ve got two types of bags in one single design, and that no matter what your needs are, the DUPLEX’s versatile build has you covered.

The Copper Clean Wallet comes with a slick, highly polished exterior, and a spacious interior that holds over 10 cards and 10+ notes without expanding in thickness like a leather wallet. It’s about as thick as an AirPods case, making it perfectly pocket-friendly, and aside from being able to self-disinfect, it blocks RFID too, keeping you safe from digital theft. A simple metal clasp keeps the wallet compact and shut, allowing you to pop it open when you need it, and the inside of the wallet is equipped with a bellow-shaped pocket system that fans open when you pop open the wallet, letting you easily access your cards and cash when you need them. The wallet lasts longer than traditional flexible bi-folds, and never really needs any maintaining, because it automatically cleans itself!

Overstuffed pockets are a problem. Say hello to bolstr Elements – crossbody alternatives for your everyday carry

The series is available in three sizes that you can wear crossbody, carry in-hand, clip-on via carabiner, or store in-bag for organization. bolstr Elements gives you a dedicated space for all your personal effects, from your phone and wallet, to your keys, AirPods, sunglasses, and other small items with which you would otherwise stuff your pockets.

Why make a bag with more than seven (7) pockets? bolstr’s design philosophy, BA7ANCE™, is based on half a century of cognitive research, which proved ‘chunks’ of information longer than 7 become significantly harder to remember. All bolstr bags have no more than 7 pockets, making them the perfect ‘in between’ carry with just the right amount of space.

The bolstr Elements Kickstarter offers four colorways: Stealth (ballistic), Grey Matter (ballistic), Lunar Blue (Cordura®), and B-DYM (Dyneema). All bolstr Elements are available as add-ons, in addition to facemasks, Niteize stainless steel slim carabiners, and their Universal Strap. Clean your carry!

Innovative Smartwatch Designs that we hope inspire the Apple Watch Series 7!

Rumors have been milling in the air that the Apple Watch Series 7 may be revealed at Apple’s September 2021 event! The much-awaited smartwatch could be going through some interesting redesigns. From a larger screen to an even larger battery life – these could be some of the potential changes we may witness in the upcoming Series 7! A faster processor and a better OLED screen could also be the cherry on the icing to the additions being made to the Watch Series 7. As we sit with our fingers crossed, with excitement lingering in the air, waiting for Apple’s latest smartwatch to make its debut, let’s take a moment to appreciate these innovative smartwatch designs that we believe Apple could take a couple of cues from! From a budget-friendly circular Apple Watch concept to a self-charging smartwatch that turns your wrist’s motions into an endless supply of power – these exciting wearables could be a major source of inspiration for the Apple Watch Series 7. We hope these designs inspire the next generation of Apple Watches. We would love to see their design language and innovation in other upcoming Apple products as well. Here’s to hoping!

Titled the Apple Watch Loop, this concept by Felipe Duarte does two things – it brings variety to Apple’s smartwatch offering and adds a beautifully basic ‘Air’ variant in Apple’s watch lineup, just like with their other products like the iPhone Mini, iPad Air, and MacBook Air. The Apple Watch Loop’s three drastic changes include A. its circular body, and B. the concave screen, and C. the watch strap, which forms a bumper around the smartwatch’s main hardware. Designed to provide a compact-yet-robust experience, Duarte outfitted the watch with a concave screen that’s extremely user-friendly, yet is impossible to damage when you accidentally bump your hand on a surface. Similarly, the large rubber bumper around the watch’s hardware component provides similar shock-absorbing features (although it does result in an unavoidably large physical bezel around the display).

This watch conceptualized by Michael Szczególski of 2sympleks Design draws inspiration from the OnePlus Concept One phone that has an electrochromic glass (based on electronic CMF technology) for the camera module glass covering. While on first look it might seem like any other smartwatch, there’s one thing that makes it stand out from the crowd. When the camera app is activated, the glass magically turns transparent to reveal the sensors otherwise hidden from plain sight. The Concept One Watch employs this technology to blur the lines between a classic analog watch with kinetic movement and modern-day smartwatch functionality. The Android WearOS watch is a perfect hybrid capable of satisfying proponents of classic watches and ones who like the more modern approach of the connected ecosystem of smartwatches.

The Sequent Titanium Elektron offers the best of both worlds – the activity/fitness tracking features of a smartwatch or fitness band, and the accurate time-telling and everlasting power supply of a Swiss-made mechanical watch. The Titanium Elektron eliminates the one major compromise with most smartwatches – the fact that you have to routinely charge them. It does so by refining and upgrading a technology that has existed in mechanical watches for years but hasn’t really seen mass adoption by tech companies, that have wholly embraced the lithium-ion battery movement.

The Nubia is to smart-watches what the plus-sized displays are to smartphones. The watch comes with an impressive 4-inch display that wraps around the upper half of your wrist, giving the Nubia the largest display on a smart wearable BY FAR. Designed to help lay the information out in a way that’s easy to see no matter the angle, Nubia’s vertical display is instantly eye-catching and is conveniently long enough so that you don’t need to scroll away on a tiny screen. It comes with a real-time heart-rate tracker, 4 dedicated sports/fitness tracking modes, the ability to accept and reject calls, find your phone if it gets lost, and summon your phone’s native voice assistant.

Introducing their own interpretation of Samsung’s Galaxy smartwatch, a California-based group of designers completely redesigned the electronic company’s smartwatch with a new display screen and watch bands. Opting for a tank case shape for their smartwatch reinterpretation, the team of California-based designers equipped Samsung’s Galaxy smartwatch with a curved, vertical display panel. Curved monitors are quickly taking over flat screens with a deeper immersive viewing experience and fuller screens with more vibrant colors and graphics. The team then conceptualized nine different ideations for their smartwatch straps, since the functionality of a smartwatch relies on customizing its watch bands.

The Muse is a hybrid smartwatch with practically no learning curve. Just as intuitive as a touchscreen display, the Muse comes with the added advantage of looking like a stylish timepiece, rather than a gizmo on your wrist. With two hands on the main dial, one subdial, and one window that doesn’t show you the date, but rather displays the functions of the watch, allowing you to know exactly which function you’re running, the Muse manages to find a great middle-ground between being analog and being essentially a smart wearable. Couple that with two control buttons on the side, and you have a watch that doesn’t need a display at all. Slick and stylish, the Muse is every bit a great analog timepiece.

Suunto’s collection of Spartan smartwatches highlights its robust package of smart sports-optimized features with an elevated user interface designed by Kallan & Co. Most impressive is that no part of the design’s face is spared from use. From sport-specific data tracking to real-time sleep analysis, there is a massive amount of data to be presented to the wearer, so each section of micro real estate serves a purpose. Organized in an intelligent and easy-to-navigate way, its large state-of-the-art touchscreen makes it easy to review your stats and check live vitals whether you’re swimming or competing in a triathlon.

You’d never guess that the Superbe was a hybrid smartwatch. With its incredibly fashion-forward aesthetic, the Superbe is a gorgeous looking wristwatch with a unique dial and a simple yet classy design that’s fitting of its Parisian roots… but the Superbe is more than just a gorgeous looking wristwatch. It’s a hybrid smartwatch too, with a world clock, activity tracker, sleep tracker, Bluetooth controls, and probably its biggest feature, its ability to work without needing to be charged. This eclectic combination of a great aesthetic, along with remarkable tech features is what makes the Nowa Superbe the best of both worlds.

The Neo watch has similar features to our smart-watches (snapping pictures, sending text messages, calling family members, etc.), but in a product that is easy for children to use. The watch’s display is a 1.2-inch touch screen, which is large enough for their not-quite-nimble fingers. Most functions can be controlled with the push of one button (located in the top corner), making it even easier for your child to use. The watch is also angled at 45-degrees, which provides a more comfortable viewing angle and reduces wrist strain. “The smartwatch’s durable and ergonomic design is coupled with an angled watch face that improves the viewing angle for the user, reducing strain on the wrist. The angle also provides a comfortable and natural way to use the front-facing camera. By tilting the screen at a 20-degree angle, we remove the need for problematic over-articulation of the arm, offering a more comfortable movement for viewing and interacting.”

From the inspired minds of the interns at Germany-based design studio PEARL CREATIVE, the Karlsson is the latest in wearable tech that aims to go beyond simple fitness tracking to make life better! This minimalistic mobile companion features a wrist strap that serves as a landing platform for a minuscule drone. In addition to the traditional capabilities of a smartwatch (like music playing and physical monitoring), the Karlsson drone can help you perform a number of other activities like scouting your keys, finding your lost car in a large parking lot, assisting in navigation, and doubling as a light source in the dark. For the selfie-obsessed, it can even capture moments from any angle you can imagine. When you’re finished, simply call it back to your wrist!

Performance jackets that are strong enough for your hikes, and stylish enough for your city

The world of fashion has always made a distinct separation between performance, aesthetics, and comfort. Clothing can embody a maximum of two of those attributes, but never all of them. Your fashion puffer isn’t high-performance enough to wear hiking, and your trekking jacket isn’t really stylish enough to wear in the city on a coffee run, or comfortable enough to wear to a friend’s place. Obviously, this isn’t something that’s done on purpose – but rather, one could argue that no company’s really ever thought of building clothes that are high-performance, stylish, AND comfortable… up until the guys at St. Terre decided to take on the challenge.

Designer: St. Terre

St. Terre’s series of jackets are described as performance outdoor apparel that’s voguish enough to wear in the city too. The jackets are durable enough to weather a storm as you trek on rough terrain, or the pitter-patter of a gentle drizzle as you rush out to get some shopping done at the local 7/11. The jackets, designed by apparel industry experts at St. Terre, come in a variety of styles, from The Hurson (the brand’s flagship puffer which they absolutely swear by) to windbreakers, parkas, and even a sleeveless jacket for a bit of variety and also a perfect piece for layering. All the jackets are weatherproof, warm, and feature an abundance of features. They’re durable, are styled with either muted or vibrant colors (depending on your aesthetic needs), and come with embroidered details, brass fixtures, YKK zips, and St. Terre’s logo – a white stork known for embarking on rough journeys to migrate to more comfortable climates (sound similar?)

Gatier – Well-insulated, hard-wearing but also lightweight and effortlessly packable.

Hurson – The lines of its dynamic baffling set it apart from all other Puffers, and features like funnel neck and the shoulder panels help to fend off the elements.

Foresta – Designed to be worn in the downtime between journeys.

Aron – Features all-over baffling to provide stabilized insulation.

Ayes – A true all-rounder. It moves stealthily from being a trusty statement piece to a cold-weather layering hero.

The series comprises a total of 5 purpose-built jackets – all with intriguing names, the Ayes, Aron, Foresta, Gatier, and of course the aforementioned Hurson. Depending on the jacket, it’s water or shower-resistant, and comes with well-considered internal as well as external pockets to stow all of your gear, while select styles sport detachable hoodies and throat-guards, so you can snap them on in inclement weather, and pop them off when the rain/snow has subsided. To add to the jackets’ appeal, they use a feather-free insulation material from Sonora Aura which ticks all the boxes for animal welfare, and the guys say they will never use fur in any of their garments. Designed for just the right fit, the jackets come in 5 different sizes to choose from and a variety of colors to suit your outdoor style. The St. Terre folks even have a beanie and a scarf that you can get your hands on, to make the perfect outfit, and the jackets begin shipping around the new year, just in the peak of winter!

These Japanese watchmakers are challenging the luxury watch industry with affordable full Skeleton Tourbillon watches

A good skeleton tourbillon watch can cost as much as a small yacht… ZEROOTIME’s watches, on the other hand, look just as luxurious, but at 1/100th the price.

The Tourbillon has a pretty interesting history. Invented more than 200 years ago by Abraham-Louis Breguet, a Parisian watchmaker, the tourbillon’s purpose was to fight off the pesky effects of gravity on a pocket watch’s intricate movement. Given that pocket watches were often in one of two positions (vertical in a pocket or horizontal on a surface), their delicate inner mechanisms would suffer from unilateral drag caused by the earth’s pull. To circumvent this, Breguet devised a small cage in which to mount the most important components – the escapement and balance wheel – and had it constantly rotate so as to negate positional errors. He called it a “tourbillon”, meaning “whirlwind” in French, and earned a patent for it in 1801.

Today, however, the term Tourbillon is relegated to the most luxurious of brands. Given its incredibly ornamental nature (and its immensely intricate construction), luxury brands often charge a ‘premium’ for adding tourbillons to their timepieces; often hundreds of times more than what the timepiece should actually cost. The watchmakers at Japan-based ZEROOTIME are challenging that notion with their affordable Skeleton Tourbillon Watches. By relying on crowdfunding (where you circumvent barriers like retail costs, brand markups, showroom fees, expensive exhibitions) and delivering to-order watches directly to passionate consumers, ZEROOTIME’s been able to make and sell watches at their ‘true cost’. Their 2021 series, titled The Archer, comes in two styles, the T1 Alpha with its circular body, and the T2 Square, sporting a square body. Both watches boast of an elegantly bare skeleton-design that lets you see the artistry underneath the dial. The watches showcase the tourbillons at the 9 o’clock position (which is rather rare, given most watches prefer to put it at the 6 o’clock position) and have double-springs located at 1 o’clock and 5 o’clock positions, giving the watch a power reserve of 72 hours.

ZEROOTIME T1 Alpha Archer Watch

ZEROOTIME T2 Square Archer Watch

In the pursuit of creating a watch that’s as skeletal as possible, the Archer series boasts a transparent rim around the watches too. The case, with its sparingly minimal design, comes made from 316L Stainless Steel, and is capped on the top and bottom with Sapphire Crystal displays that let you observe the tourbillon’s choreographed dance. The rim of the watch sports a crystal glass ring too, letting you see the movement from the side too, giving you an unusual view of the tourbillon that’s rare to come by in watches. Each watch comes with a Nightglow Lumionva coating on the hand as well as the markings around the incredibly slim rim, and when the hand reaches the 3 o’clock position, the skeletal frame and hand look almost like a bow and arrow… leading to the series being fittingly named ‘Archer’.

The two watches within the Archer series are limited to just 250 units each. This helps the watchmakers at Zerootime plan their supply chain like clockwork (for the lack of a better term!) and allows them to narrow the cost of each watch down to the exact dollar needed to keep the company in the green while allowing patrons to receive high-quality Japanese-built timepieces. The circular and square-shaped watches come in two styles – a silver skeleton-body matched with a blue handmade leather strap, and a golden skeleton body complemented by a black handmade leather strap. With a $1,500 price tag, the Archer series are probably the most reasonably (or rather, fairly) priced Skeleton Tourbillon watches. Each watch even comes with a 2-year warranty and sits upon a leather cushion inside its premium wooden case (with beautiful Rolls-Royce-inspired doors) that also doubles as the warranty certificate.

How often do you clean/disinfect your wallet and belongings? This self-sanitizing copper wallet keeps itself clean of germs

When was the last time you cleaned your wallet? I’ll answer for myself – never. My wallet’s made of denim, which sort of makes it easier to clean than a leather wallet… but in the 10 years I’ve used this wallet, I’ve never cleaned it. It just isn’t something that occurs to oneself, right? Leather shoes get polished, leather jackets get buffed/waxed, leather wallets? Not as much. In the years that you use the wallet, its leather ages and patinas over time, but it also gets dirty. It touches your hands multiple times a day, rests in your pocket, sits on foreign surfaces, and just is exposed to all the elements… which raises two questions. How do you even clean a leather wallet? Or more appropriately, is leather even the right material for wallets anymore?

The Copper Clean Wallet is a self-sanitizing, antimicrobial copper wallet. Recent studies have shown that copper surfaces kill more than 99.9% of germs and microbes within minutes.

Can carry over 10 cards and 10+ notes without being a thick wallet.

Metal wallets have been around for a bit now. They’re sturdy, sleek, and just last longer than any other flexible wallet made from leather, denim, fabric, Tyvek, or any other synthetic material. They’re usually made out of aluminum, which is cheap and easy to machine, or titanium, which lasts centuries, although it’s slightly on the more expensive side… but I’m here to make the case for a copper wallet. You see, copper as a material is abundantly available and is pretty easy to work with. It has a lovely golden hue to it and perhaps its standout feature – it’s naturally biocidal. Often termed as the ‘oligodynamic effect’, copper has an inherent ability to just dismantle any microorganism, making it naturally anti-microbial. Andrew Becker, the designer of the Copper Clean Wallet, believes that a wallet made out of copper never really needs cleaning because it automatically sanitizes itself on its own… even after years of use.

Weighs in at a mere 3 oz making it both incredibly lightweight and durable.

A simple metal clasp keeps the wallet compact and shut, allowing you to pop it open when you need, and the inside of the wallet is equipped with a bellow-shaped pocket system that fans open when you pop open the wallet, letting you easily access your cards and cash when you need them. The wallet lasts longer than traditional flexible bifolds, and never really needs any maintaining, because it automatically cleans itself!
