Jurassic Park Power Wheels Jeep: Dinosaur Wrangler

This Barbie Power Wheels Jeep was converted into a Jurassic Park jeep, and it looks so much cooler now. If you were a kid, would you rather pretend to be Barbie riding around in a pink jeep or would you rather pretend that you are driving around a park filled with Dinosaurs? Dinosaurs win. Obviously.

If you want to see a really awesome build, check out Fromanizzle’s gallery below. Pay attention moms and dads. This is how you make a kid’s car much cooler. They got all of the details just right.

If the company behind Barbie Power Wheels was really smart, they would make a version like this to sell in stores. But for now, it is up to cool parents to do it.

Guy Builds Mini Jurassic Park For His Tortoise: Turtlesaurus Rex

This guy really treats his pets right. He recreated Jurassic Park just for his turtle. Check out the main entrance, the visitor center and a damaged fence, all built around a Leopard tortoise named Louie. This fun turtle habitat was lovingly made by his owner, Oliver Turpin.

He did a great job. I would have just bought three more turtles and built a replica of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ sewer home. Maybe throw in a rat so they can have a mentor and learn martial arts. But this is a much better idea.

The tortoise here doesn’t really care. He’s just interested in feeding time. I can’t wait until that turtle starts terrorizing the park visitors.

Mondo Clones Jurassic Park’s Icons and Revives Them as Pins

Pop culture purveryor Mondo dusted off a handful of icons and drawings from the film Jurassic Park and will be releasing them today as limited edition enamel pins. There are four designs: the movie’s logo, Mr. DNA, InGen’s logo and an insect preserved in amber.

Screw InGen, I’d rather have a Nedry pin. The pins cost $10 (USD) each. They should be available from Mondo’s store any time now.

12 Disney Princesses as Raptors From Jurassic World

Snow White

Disney princesses are always hot, as in trendy. Velociraptors and Jurassic Park? Nothing’s hotter right now. Combine the two together? Why the hell not?!

Artist Laura Cooper decided that after watching Jurassic World (which is the first movie with two weekends of more than $100 million at the box office) came up with the idea, thinking how cool the dinosaurs were which led her to thinking that Ariel, Mulan and Tiana need some sort of reptilian makeover.

Aurora (Sleeping Beauty)

Merida (Brave)

Rapunzel (Tangled)

Tiana (Princess & the Frog)

Belle (Beauty and the Beast)

Jasmin (Aladdin)

Mulan

Pocahontas

Ariel (The Little Mermaid)

Anna & Elsa (Frozen)

Snow White

Cinderella

Hat tip:

This isn’t the first great idea about giving Disney Princesses an alternative look. There’s this one, giving them a more accurate look considering the period in which the characters first appeared, and there’s also this fantastic idea of giving them an Indian wedding remodeling.

8 Bit Cinema Jurassic Park: Game on, Dinosaurs!

It’s been a long time since Jurassic Park came out so maybe you need a refresher. Especially since the new movie Jurassic World is coming out this week. 8-bit Cinema has you covered.

This short version is perfect for those who don’t have a couple of hours to sit through the original movie. It’s Jurassic Park done in the style of a retro video game, with all of your favorite scenes and as much dinosaur havoc as you can stand.

This actually looks like a fun video game. Too bad I can’t play it.

Fridge Full of Jurassic Park Games Hits eBay

Geeks can be a strange lot. Take this eBay auction. It’s for a plethora of old SNES game cartridges. The vast majority of them are all for one game. I’m not sure why you would want multiple copies of a single game, but whatevs.

jurassic_park_fridge_1zoom in

In the eBay listing, the game cartridges are all displayed inside a fridge (with a half-used bottle of Bacardi). The auction doesn’t actually get you the fridge or the rum – that would just be silly. What it gets you is more than 300 copies of the Jurassic Park game for the Super Nintendo.

There are copies for Genesis, Saturn, SEGA CD, and Game Boy thrown in there as well. The Buy-It-Now price for the auction was set for $1,500, and someone actually bought it yesterday. Who knows why.

Fan Made LEGO Jurassic Park Stop Motion Short Film: Clever Girls and Boys

Digital Wizards Studios makes LEGO stop motion films. To prove to his 8-year old daughter Hailee that they could do anything with LEGO, Digital Wizards’ Paul Hollingsworth, Hailee and his friends recreated some of the key moments in Jurassic Park. They used about $100,000 worth of LEGO, not to mention a variety of audio and video recording equipment and three months of their time to create the fun short film.

Haley’s main contribution is in animating Tim in the scene where he refuses to let go of an electric fence. Check out the finished short:

Here’s a peek at the hard work – and play! – that went into making the short:

Take a trip to Digital Wizards’ YouTube page to see more of their short films. If you want to learn more about making LEGO films, Paul recommends reading Sarah Herman’s book Bricks Flicks: A Comprehensive Guide to Making Your Own Stop-motion LEGO Movies.
