Rib Eye Steak Grilled with 2,000-degree Molten Lava

“Cooking With Lava” is the name of this video by Bompas & Parr studio. And that is just what they do. This video features professor Robert Wysocki of Syracuse University in New York State using the 2,000-degree heat of molten lava to cook a 10-ounce rib eye. Put your charcoal away with your dress, son. This is how a real man grills!

The lava flow begins its slow descent down a trough of dry ice, then the meat is placed on the grill and begins sizzling right away. It’s friggin’ lava. Did you think it would take a half hour?

I’ll have mine medium burnt to ash, please and instead of eating it, I’ll just burn my face off now and save some time. Crazy. Thanksgiving dinner would be done in like two minutes instead of six hours.

We need to harness the power of our volcanoes at once!

Phantom Drone Carries GoPro into Active Volcano and Survives

There are all sorts of things you can do with a flying drone aircraft or quadcopter carrying a camera. You could do the obvious and chase your dog or cat around the house. You could have it follow your significant other around to make sure they’re not causing trouble.

One thing I would not have thought of doing with a camera-packing drone is send it into the caldera of an active volcano. I would expect the hot gas and flying molten lava to destroy the drone in short order. I would be wrong, at least in this instance. Recently, Shaun O’Callaghan’s DJI Phantom quadcopter drone carried a GoPro into an active volcano on Tanna Island in Vanuatu.

You can see in the video that lava and gas are flying everywhere and going all around the camera and drone. I can’t believe the thing survived, but Shaun says the drone says no harm came to it or the camera during filming.

Xolo Q600 hits India with 4.5-inch screen, quad-core CPU for $150

Xolo unveils 45inch Q600 with dualsim, quadcore CPU, Android 42

Lava has an eclectic mix of smartphones on the market under its Xolo brand, including the Intel Atom-based X1000 and dual-core X800 ARM model with an 8-megapixel camera. A common thread is that all are, shall we say, cheap, and the Q600 unveiled today is no exception at 8,999 rupees (about $150). For that sum, you'll get a quad-core Mediatek 6589M processor, 4.5-inch 854 x 480 screen, 5-megapixel rear camera, 0.3-megapixel front cam, 512MB RAM, 4GB internal memory (expandable via microSD) dual 3G sims and Android 4.2. Residents of India can grab it as of today, though we can't see this particular model ever making occidental travel plans.
