TARDIS Themed Bathroom: Stinkier on the Inside

The web series Golden Thrones is all about finding the best public restrooms in the world. In the latest episode, host Jon DelCollo stopped in at The Way Station in Brooklyn to explore this TARDIS-themed loo.

The inside walls are decorated with all kinds of Doctor Who themes, like Tom Baker’s scarf, which would have made the perfect toilet paper pattern in this bathroom actually. There’s a weeping angel and a cyberman in there too.

They should have gone all out and made the toilet look like the main console. That way, when you flush it, it can go up and down. That’s what I would have done. But I don’t design Doctor Who toilets for a living, so what do I know?

This Giant LEGO TARDIS Is Brickier on the Inside

Check out this life-size LEGO TARDIS. Sadly, you can’t buy, but at least you can get a glimpse at what a life-size TARDIS looks like. It looks like the TARDIS only…brickier.

This impressive life-size TARDIS turned up on Sydney famed Bondi Beach, and is on display in advance of Australia’s inaugural Doctor Who Festival.

All it needs is a LEGO Doctor and it would be complete. There’s probably little chance that we will see it in the States anytime soon, but I would love to have a closer look.

LEGO Doctor Who Set Goes on Sale in December

Whovians have waited a long time for a new Doctor Who set, and LEGO has finally decided to make their dreams come true. With the official launch set for December, it seems that the Doctor Who LEGO set will be available just in time for Christmas.

First spotted in a French Shop At Home catalog and then officially confirmed by the Danish toy maker, the Doctor Who set has made some hearts (though no double ones) skip a beat. Even though it doesn’t feature all of Doctors, there’s only one companion, and it could generally be considered a minimalistic set, it still brought a lot of joy to Whovians from all around the world.

Only Matt Smith and Peter Capaldi’s versions of the Doctor have been included, and the back of the box even depicts the regeneration of the LEGO Time Lord. While I loved Matt Smith’s Doctor and story line quite a lot, I found the 8th series to be quite dull, and I still can’t tell if it was the new Doctor or his companion’s fault. Even the story seemed unimpressive, but everything seems to be back to normal in the new series.

Speaking of the sole companion found in this LEGO set, it is none other than Clara Oswin Oswald, the soufflé girl (or the Impossible Girl, if you prefer). In terms of villains, we have two Daleks and a weeping angel. I don’t even want to know what would happen if these two monstrosities worked together to bring the Doctor down.

As mentioned before, the set could leave the impression that it’s rather simplistic, but in fact it includes more than 600 pieces, besides the six characters. Submitted to LEGO Ideas by Andrew Clark, the Doctor Who set with model number 21304 is nothing short of stunning. Besides the figurines, it features the TARDIS, which is bigger on the inside, obviously, and several accessories specific to each version of the Doctor. The exterior of the TARDIS detaches from the interior, and can be closed up to look like the traditional Police Box. Some Whovians hope that the Weeping Angel will have a demonic face, while others weep the absence of David Tennant’s Doctor, especially since the 10th incarnation is the most popular one.

The set is expected to go on sale on December 1st, a few weeks before the Doctor Who Christmas Special, where we’ll get the chance to see River Song again. The price of €59.99 in Europe and $59.99 in North America seems decent, for a set of this size. There are no details regarding the availability, and some think that it will sell out in minutes, which really wouldn’t be surprising. If you want to surprise a young Whovian with an incredibly Doctor Who gift this Christmas, the LEGO Ideas set could fit the bill perfectly, as long as the recipient is 10+ y/o.

Official LEGO Doctor Who TARDIS Set Coming Soon

Doctor Who fans will want to check out this awesome LEGO announcement. The LEGO Facebook page has made it clear than an official TARDIS building set is coming soon.

We have seen DIY TARDIS sets over the years, and many of them are much more complex than the official set we see in this image. Take the 1:3 size TARDIS we saw several years back, which had a whole lot of bricks in it. Granted, it was much larger than the official kit is going to be.

In addition, the Doctor Who YouTube channel has just dropped this amusing video which shows off more of the 623-piece set, which includes both a blue police box, and a complete TARDIS console room, which is naturally much bigger. The set also includes minifigures of the 11th Doctor, the 12th Doctor, Clara Oswald, and a Weeping Angel. It also includes the pieces required to build two Daleks.

Expect the set to drop in time for the holidays for about $50.

The TARDIS Trunk: More Storage on the Inside

All good vehicles have a trunk. I mean you need a place to keep spare tires, emergency and first aid kits and more. What if I told you that the TARDIS has a trunk too? Well, the actual TARDIS is too big to need one, but this TARDIS is a trunk.

Addled Adventures recently made an old storage trunk into the TARDIS. She found a beat up trunk at a garage sale for $5, brought it home and then went full Time Lord on it and created a mini time machine. She spraypainted it blue and laser cut the door panels. She also added the windows and door signs, and just like that, she had a TARDIS.

Just like the real thing, the chameleon circuit won’t work and sadly she can’t figure out how to make it endless inside, but it is a great storage trunk for all of her Doctor Who collectibles now.
