Partnering with Trezor over the technology, luxury brand GRAY has recently unveiled the CORAZON, a hardware crypto wallet made from robust materials while boasting of an incredibly secure internal software that lets you store your cryptocoins offline in a practically impervious digital vault.

Named after the Spanish word for the heart, CORAZON comes almost in an abstract heart-shaped design machined from aerospace-grade 6Al4V titanium. The strategic partnership between GRAY and Trezor has allowed the product to rely on the expertise and experience of both companies. The wallet’s secure software is based on the Trezor Core Firmware of the Trezor Model T, while its components sit perfectly within a tamper-resistant outer-casing manufactured by GRAY.

The CORAZON puts the digital equivalent of Fort Knox in the palm of your hand. The CORAZON is your wallet, your security keychain, and your digital safe, with support for over a 1000 cryptocurrencies. Moreover, it also serves as a password manager for your digital accounts, and a U2F hardware token to aid in authentication requests, fulfilling the role of a hardware wallet as well as a hardware key for your digital accounts. A USB-C port on the wallet’s base allows you to connect it to a computer to have it serve as a hardware authenticator. The same USB-C port even lets you charge your CORAZON.

While being secure, Trezor’s technology is open-source and gets frequently audited by security researchers. According to CORAZON’s website, “Anybody can verify its integrity, look for vulnerabilities and suggest improvements.”

The hardware comes hermetically sealed within two robust CNC-machined titanium halves. The two halves of the wallet are first closed with a screw, before a resin is used to seal the joint. The resin is hardened with UV light, creating a device that can no longer be opened without compromising its physical integrity. The high-end materials and secure backend mean CORAZON comes with a pretty heavy price tag. The Titanium variant retails for $999, while a slightly cheaper Aluminum version of the same device costs $599. The CORAZON definitely isn’t for everyone. Although if you’re Elon Musk or one of those recent Dogecoin millionaires, you could easily grab yourself one of these without breaking a sweat.

The form and function of a wallet have evolved over time. Back when coins were the only form of currency, a pouch served the purpose of a wallet, letting you carry change and probably a few nuggets of gold on you. Banknotes forced the bifold wallet into existence, and payment cards helped it evolve and slim down. It’s 2021 and one could argue that the wallet needs to do and carry much more than it did a couple of decades ago. One could also say with all these functions, it wouldn’t be too bad if you could track your wallet too, right?

Meet Fantom R, a metal wallet that reinterprets how wallets should look and behave in the year 2021. It comes with a machined aluminum chassis that packs a world of function into an incredibly slim form. In its 9mm thick avatar, the Fantom R can hold 7 cards, banknotes, coins, or even 3 keys. It comes with built-in RFID blocking to protect you from digital theft, and an optional tracking device that prevents physical theft, and it makes your leather bifold look like it should belong in the museum.

Yes, I’m sad about Daft Punk splitting up… how did you know? Okay, maybe that reference in the title sounded a little forced, but it does make a point… because Apple’s original MagSafe card-holder is frankly garbage. I’m talking about that flimsy piece of leather that holds roughly 2-3 cards and costs a shameful $59. It isn’t even RFID-proof, for crying out loud. In Apple’s defense, it doesn’t do accessories well. The charging cables barely last a year before breaking, its AirPower mat was a disaster, and let’s not forget the $700 Mac Pro wheels from 2019. Apple does, however, create the perfect opportunity for third-party companies to make some of the best accessories for their products… so when I saw the original leather MagSafe wallet on Apple’s website, I knew it was just a matter of time till an independent company made something harder, better, stronger, and well, more affordable too!

Close your eyes and think of a wallet. It’s extremely likely that what you’re thinking of is made of leather, folds down through the middle, comes with flaps, compartments, pockets, and is stitched or glued together. Open your eyes. What if a walled didn’t have to have any of those things?

The GO Wallet distills the very idea of a wallet down to its basics. What do you need from your wallet? For it to carry money and for it to not get stolen or lost… right? It’s a good thing the GO Wallet was designed to do those two things VERY well. Machined out of lightweight and RFID-blocking Aluminum, the GO Wallet comes perfectly sized to be exactly the same dimensions as your cards, and comes in a variety of anodized colors and finishes. Two metal halves sandwich your cards in between, with a durable elastic band holding it all together.
