USS Enterprise Gingerbread Spaceship: Stomach, The Final Frontier

These are the voyages of the USS Gingerprise. It’s on a five year mission of deliciousness.Or at least it was, until it crash landed in the snow.

gingerbread_enterprise_1
This delicious starship was made by Redditor ejustice and modeled after the scene in Star Trek Generations. But even better than this gingerbread ship simply existing to make us hungry, another Redditor nicholmikey superimposed the picture of the ship into the actual movie scene, so we can see the part where it crash lands.

I hope it crashed on a planet where the inhabitants don’t just rush to the crash site and start eating the ship. In other words, this ship is lucky it didn’t crash at my house.

Have a Sweet Thanksgiving with this 25,000 Calorie Gummy Turkey

Thanksgiving is a great time to catch up with family and friends, but cooking all day long sucks if people are coming to your house. The folks at Vat19 have a way to make that cooking a little more fun, even though you might gross out some of your guests. Instead of cooking an actual bird, they made a 20-pound gummy turkey, with sides of dessert.

gummy_turkey_1
This entire feast is made of candy, cookies, marshmallows, and other sugary things. You thought turkey put you into a food coma. Wait until you finish this meal. Everyone will be bouncing off the walls acting like sugared up kids, especially after they bite into that 25,625 calorie turkey.

The video above shows you how they created the meal. I assume with the right recipe for gummy candy, you could serve up the same for your holiday party.

Watch These Drones Make a Cake

Have you ever seen a drone make a cake? No, I don’t mean the indentured servants working at your local grocery store’s bakery. I’m talking real drones making a cake. It is an awesome sight.

drones_cake_1
With all of the ingredients ready to go, these drones zoom into action, lift the cake in place, put icing on it, shoot candy on it and create a masterpiece.

Lucas Zanotto is the man behind these flying pastry chefs in this commercial for Internet and mobile company Telia. Check out the behind the scenes video too.

I know, they don’t actually blend the ingredients and whisk eggs and whatnot, but this is still mighty impressive, especially when you realize that all of the drones were manually piloted.

Cannoliception: Cannoli within a Cannoli

If you can believe it, I’ve never eaten a cannoli before. All I know about cannoli I learned watching The Godfather, which is to say leave the gun and take the sweets. From what I see here I am seriously missing out.

This is no normal cannoli though. It’s a giant cannoli shell stuffed with 50 smaller cannoli. Cannoliception. This creation is called the Bazooka and was created by Pasticceria Caruso in Australia, and it looks seriously yummy.

I want one of these for my birthday. I’m off to find something sweet to eat now and to cry because this cannoli goodness isn’t in my belly.

These Incredible Hulk Pudding Cups Are Smashing

The Incredible Hulk is worthy of an incredible snack and here it is. These awesome pudding cups showed up on a recent episode of Nerdy Nummies and they are packed with yummy gamma radiation. No, not really.

Watch Los Angeles baker and author Rosanna Pansino demonstrate how to make and decorate these Incredible Hulk pudding cups and soon you’ll be impressing your kids at dessert time.

Thankfully the Hulk is contained in the cups and won’t be hulking out on anything but your taste buds. However he will glare at you with those crazy angry eyebrows, so try not to be intimidated as you eat him up.

Me when there is only one pudding cup left 😠

Human Heart Cake is Great for Valentines Day or The Walking Dead Parties

So this weekend is Valentine’s Day, or more importantly the return of The Walking Dead. I’m still holding out hope Carl and that annoyingly whiny new kid Sam are eaten on the way out of the house. But I digress. This cake is perfect for both big events this weekend.

It’s sort of gross, sort of tasty looking, and you might be able to spin it that you are giving your heart to your significant other. Nah, it’s really gross and looks like something a zombie would eat. It also looks extremely difficult to make.

The anatomically correct cake is made from two carved deep red velvet cakes, soaked with simple syrup, with a burgundy chocolate ganache filling, and buttercream frosting. The shiny goo on the outside comes from a mix of red food color mixed with raspberry jam, layered over fondant icing. Check out the video and be simultaneously hungry and a bit grossed out.

These Cat Sweets Are Almost Too Cute To Eat (ALMOST)

These Cat Sweets Are Almost Too Cute To Eat (ALMOST)

Check out these cat sweets by Japanese web designer and kitty enthusiast Laura. She’s got éclairs, truffles, cakes, doughnuts, and more! Her bio says the treats are inspired by her own beloved feline, Apelila. That’s nice. The only thing my cats inspire me to do is change my name and leave the country. Those f***ers are evil, […]

DeLorean Time Machine Cake: Hover Converted Dessert

London-based Tattooed Bakers have wowed us before with their Maleficent and zombie horse cakes, but they went all out for Back to the Future day. The dessert masters made a DeLorean time machine cake that looks more like a toy than something edible.

Tattooed Bakers made the cake for software maker Bullhorn. It had lights everywhere, smoke coming out of its exhausts and as you can see it was in hover mode with its gull-wing doors fully open. It wasn’t a life-size model but was still huge.

Awesome Batman Cookie Cutter: DC Cookies

Cookies and Batman are two of my favorite things ever. Both are combined in this super neat Batman cookie cutter. The cool thing about this cookie cutter is that it comes with various pieces so you add a ton of detail and put all of the pieces together anyway you like.

batman_cookie_1zoom in

This is some advanced cookie cutter technology and I have to say it makes one good looking Dark Knight if you’ve got the patience to put all the bits together. He looks like he just stepped out of the cookie book, I mean comic book. The one shown here is about a 4-inch treat, so this isn’t a tiny Batman. Though he’s not technically a cookie – he’s an assemblage of fondant icing.

I think I might have to get this and make an army of edible Batmen.

Artist Tisha Cherry uses OREOs as her canvas and the creme filling as her medium. That’s right — OREO art. Just look at it! Powerful stuff. Really moving. It’s truly inspiring! …me to go to the store and buy some OREOs.
