Doctor Strange Goes to the Waterpark

Marvel fan Jesse McLaren turned his nerdy talents towards putting Doctor Strange into some odd situations. The geek says that he took every shot from the behind-the-scenes features where Doc Strange was in front of a green screen and edited him into a waterpark.

You can watch the video in the tweet embedded below and lol along with us. The music selection seems especially appropriate for a water park.

The result is more entertaining than the Doctor Strange movie. I’m of the firm opinion that was the lamest of the Marvel movies in recent memory. I mean they can’t all rock like the original Iron Man flicks, but they could be less boring, right? Maybe I’m alone in not liking the flick, but I do think McLaren’s video is pretty amusing.

This Cat Purr Emulator Is Simply Purrfect

If there’s one thing that the internet is lacking, it’s a superior cat purr emulator. Now we have one that beats all of the rest. Its name is Purrli. This single-purpose website is designed to help you create the perfect cat purr.

Purrli aims to recreate both the sound and the presence of your very own virtual cat through this sound engine that is modeled after real kitty purrs. Spend some time fine-tuning your purr and then sit back and relax. There’s nothing more relaxing than the sound of a cat purring into your ears. Just put on some headphones and let your cares fade away. Your stress will be a thing of the past.

This is probably as close to the experience of having a real cat as you can get without actually having a real cat with you. If you do have a cat at home, play this and turn the volume up. It will confuse your feline friend.

This is so relaxing that I’m getting sleepy now. I think I have to take a nap. It’s so mesmerizing and tranquil. Hard to stay awake. Eyes getting heavy. Nice kitty. I’ll just rest my eyes for a second. So tired… ZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Dogzilla Figure Celebrates Lunar Year of the Dog

Among Kaiju, Godzilla is still the creature to beat. But who’s got room in their house to keep a towering beast like him as a pet? What we need is a dog-sized monster that we can curl up with on the couch. Well, thanks to artist Noger Chen of Goodzilla, we now have the house pet we always wanted.

Noger designed this Dogzilla figure to celebrate the Year of the Dog, but we’d be happy to have this spiky pooch scampering about in our yard no matter what year it is. This golden pup even has a tiny subway car to chomp down on instead of a bone, along with some sort of creepy crawler he can chase around too.

He’s even got a waggy tail to show you just how happy he is. Good Boy!

Sadly, Dogzilla isn’t real, nor is he really even a figure you can buy. Instead, he just appears to be a concept design at this point. But if I could have a real Dogzilla of my own, I would name him George and hug him and pet him and squeeze him.

Turn Your Cat into a Vegetable with These Wacky Japanese Hats

Cat people, are you looking for a new way to humiliate your kitty? Look no further than these vegetable hats from Japan. These are guaranteed to annoy your cat and make them hate you forever.

The cat hats come in six ridiculous styles, including corn, carrot, white radish, onion, tomato, and eggplant. So if you’ve got more than one cat, you can fix yourself a plate of hostile looking mixed veggies. Mr. Noodles is so going to scratch your eyeballs out in the middle of the night for this.

The cat hats sell for ¥300 each (about $2.80 USD), and can be found in those toy capsule machines in Japan – or you can order a pack of 50 for about $100 if you want to hand out a bunch to your cat-loving friends.

Robots Go Skiing, Fall on Their Shiny Metal Asses

Many of us are on the lookout for the impending robot uprising, but once you see this video of skiing robots falling on their butts, you may not be so worried. The footage comes from the Ski Robot Challenge in South Korea outside of PyeongChang. The event was held at the Welli Hilli resort in Hoengseong, about an hour away from the 2018 Winter Olympic games.

Eight teams competed against each other and the rules state that all robots have to be at least 20 inches tall, have two legs, and operate on an independent power system. Sure, there were a few robots that had impressive runs, but as you can see, there were a lot of fails here. The winning robot was TaekwonV from a company called Minirobot Corp and it took home the $10,000 prize, navigating the course in just 18 seconds with no falls.

This video is sure to make you laugh. I mean, what’s better than robots falling again and again while trying to look cool and do awesome things? This wasn’t an official event at this year’s Olympics, but it should be, so we can watch highlights of robots failing and laugh at them as a society.

Super Bowl Fanny Packs Keep Your Food Close

Beyond the football game, commercials, and the halftime show, the Super Bowl is all about stuffing your face with everything possible. It’s a true American pastime. Well, now there is an accessory that will help in your quest for ultimate face-stuffing. Dip maker Heluva Good’s No Fumble Fanny Pack wraps around your waist so you can keep your chips, dip and beer as close to your stomach as possible. Why take the chance that another sports-loving fatty will steal your grub, when you can have it all on your person?

Forget reaching all the way to the coffee table to grab handfuls of popcorn. You won’t have to get any exercise at all to reach for anything. Suspenders ensure extra stability and also help you to look like a total tool.

Sadly, the No Fumble Fanny Pack isn’t available in stores just yet. The only way to get one is to enter a sweepstakes through Heluva and win one. If you don’t win, I guess there’s always duct tape. Remember, keep your friends close, but your snacks closer.

Now Your Cat Can Sleep in a Giant Fruit Tart

Cats and desserts have one thing in common – and no, I don’t mean that time you found a hairball in your pudding. They can both be pretty sweet. Now you can celebrate this connection with this whimsical pet bed that looks just like a giant fruit tart.

Kitty will cuddle up alongside an oversize kiwi, strawberry, orange slice, and a couple of jumbo blueberries, surrounded by in a warm layer of pastry as he or she naps away the day, dreaming of catnip treats and chasing feathers.

This clever pet bed comes from Japanese specialty shop Felissimo. It measures in at 40 cm (~15.75″) across, so it’s big enough for a small dog too.

If you speak Japanese, you can probably order one directly from Felissimo for ¥6,580 (~$60 USD), or if you don’t want the hassle, the guys at Japan Trend Shop can take care of it for you, but you’re looking at a substantially higher price of $122 from them. I guess it’s no big deal if you’re one of those folks who pampers your pet at any price.

Rugrats Inflatable Reptar Costume Ready for Halloween Antics

Did you love watching Rugrats back in the ’90s? The series was one of those great Nickelodeon cartoons that proved that animation wasn’t just for kids, and packed the show with humor that adults could enjoy too.

One of the recurring characters that turned up occasionally on the show was Reptar – a city-stomping dinosaur who not only was the brand mascot for a breakfast cereal that turned milk green, he had his own candy bars, and starred in a musical on ice. If you love Reptar as much as I do, then you’ll want to pick up this awesome inflatable Reptar costume.

I suggest wearing this for Halloween, and getting some of your pals to dress up as as the Rugrats themselves. There’s a good Chuckie costume available over on Amazon for less than 30 bucks. I think I’d toss some toy cars on the ground that I could smash too.

You can grab the Reptar inflatable costume over at ThinkGeek for $79.99(USD).

WinPhone 95: If Microsoft Made a Windows 95 Smartphone

The smartphone era hasn’t been kind to Microsoft. From their clunky early Pocket PC-based devices, to the stillborn Microsoft Kin, to their too-little-too-late Windows Phone tie-up with Nokia, the company has tried and failed many times to stake a claim in a world dominated by Android and iOS. But what would a Windows phone have been like if Microsoft made one that ran its wildly popular Windows 95 operating system?

Thanks to UI/UX designer Henrique Perticarati, we now have our answer. He recently put together a series of images which envision what the WinPhone 95 might have looked like, along with some of its specs and features.

The chunky and awkward brick of a device is the antithesis to today’s ultra-thin smartphones, and features such wonders of technology as a 1.2 megapixels Sony Mavica camera, and a teensy trackball for navigating the Windows 95 interface. And yes, it has a headphone jack (and a microphone jack too.)

Speaking of ports, there’s no USB-C or HDMI here – just good old parallel and VGA outputs for connecting all of your peripherals. Sweet! Time to dust off that old dot-matrix printer so you can print some ASCII art.

Great job, Henrique! I’m hoping you do a whole series of retro-phones. How about an Atari ST phone, or maybe a Commodore 64 phone?

Faux Paws: Bear Gloves for Your Bare Hands

Yeah, I know Spring is just around the corner, so why the heck am I talking about thick, furry gloves? Well, like they say on Game of Thrones, “Winter is coming.” It’s true. It is… someday. So why not be prepared for the cold that’s bound to arrive eventually, and pick up some of these awesome – er, pawsome, Faux Paws.

You get a pack of two faux fur gloves which look a whole lot like bear paws. I know they do because I saw The Revenant. Of course, these ones don’t have claws on them, so you’re not going to end up ripping the flesh from anyone’s scalp with these on.

According to their maker, Toddland, they were tested on “real fake bears,” so you know they’re good. You can get your grubby little mitts on a pair of these bear hands for $28 now. They’re bound to go up the closer we get to wintertime, so grab a pair now.
