Jiva Coffee Cubes: Your Real Companion Cube

For most of us, breakfast isn’t complete without a cup of coffee. Not everyone has the time to brew coffee and instant coffee mixes get old fast. If you’re looking for an alternative that offers richer flavor but the same convenience, then you might want to give Jiva Coffee Cubes a try.

Jiva Coffee Cubesmagnify

They’re like sugar cubes, only instead of sugar, they’re made from, well, coffee. Each cube is made by packing high-quality Colombian coffee into a cube and binding the whole thing with raw sugar.

Jiva launched a campaign that was successfully funded about a week ago introducing a new flavor for their line of coffee cubes: Jiva Black, which uses a minimal amount of sugar as its binder so it’s still all-natural without the added sweetness.

Don’t fret if you missed the campaign because you can still grab the coffee cubes from their website. These are way handier than those packs of coffee sticks, don’t you think?

Instant Stain Removing

It’s the law of attraction: you’re having a trashy morning and just when you’re heading out the door with a cuppa java on the go… you spill it on your shirt. The only difference this time around is that instead of fretting, you slide on the Electrolux Instant Cleaning Glove and wipe out all traces of that offending coffee stain in a jiffy. The neoprene glove disintegrates any stain or dirt from fabrics using the combination of nanotechnology and ultrasound.

Features:

  • The glove works just with hand gestures.
  • To power it up, you need to close your hand (wearing the glove) and on the LCD screen appears “Please wait to start”.
  • Wireless charging pad to sync and charge.
  • The LCD is a flexible AMOLED screen.
  • The glove’s sponges are biodegradable and need to be replaced when worn out.
  • Can be worn on either hand.
  • Instant Cleaning Glove is a part of the 2014 Electrolux Design Lab Competition.

Check Out This Fancy $500 Ready-to-Eat Dinner

Expensive TV Dinner

TV dinners often look crappier in real life than what’s being advertised on the box. If you think about it, you shouldn’t really expect a completely satisfying and wholesome meal out of the box, since it did come frozen and is ready-to-eat after nuking it for a couple of minutes.

Redefining ready-made dinners  is Chef Charlie Bigham and his extremely fancy dinner creation that will please even the pickiest of people. It’s being dubbed as the fanciest, most luxurious TV dinner that money can buy. For starters, there’s the amuse-bouche of Beluga caviar. The main course of lobster, wild turbot, fresh diver-caught scallops, smoked salmon and oysters that are poached in Dom Perignon champagne sauce follows. If that’s not enough, there’s also fresh white Alba truffle with creamy mashed Yukon Gold heritage potatoes on the side and a 24-carat gold leaf crumb to complete the meal.

The entire dinner costs £314.16 (about $500) and was available starting last December 4th.

Roll And Play Mouse

Say hello to the Roll Instant Rechargeable Mouse. This slim guy can be charged by the laptop that you are working with and even when it’s being used. The charging is done via short-distance wireless charging as it uses wireless Bluetooth technology through resonant inductive coupling (electromagnetic induction) for wirelesses charging. That’s a lot of high-tech words for my simple mind; nevertheless you get the gist.
This technology enables a slimmer mouse volume as there is no need for a large battery.

GIF-TY Polaroid Camera: Make Flip Books Quickly and Easily

Flip books are awesome to look at and flip through, but they’re not the easiest or quickest things to make. For one, you’d either have to have a really quick trigger finger so you can take sets of burst shots in rapid succession, or a really steady hand so you can record short clips that don’t look off. For the latter, you’d also have to spend some time in front of the computer, editing shots before you can print them out.

Making the entire process of creating flip books quick and easy is the GIF-TY Polaroid camera concept.

GIF TY

It gives you a physical GIF animation in your hands within minutes of shooting the entire thing.

The GIF-TY is basically a Polaroid camera that uses Z-ink paper. All the user has to do is turn the timer, shoot the 1 to 5 second segment, and hit the print button to make a physical copy of the images. The frames are then ripped and arranged in sequential order, and the flip book is good to go and ready for flipping!

You can check it out in action in the clip below.

The GIF-TY was designed by Jiho Jang.

Simple Coffee Fix

The ‘Stir Then Squeeze’ is neither the first nor the last attempt in unifying the coffee-creamer-stirrer process. However what makes this attempt stand out, is the perfect methodology involved in the coffee – creamer dispensing. Sorry for being biased, but I am a coffee addict, and anything to do with making it easy to get to my cuppa joe, and I’m sold!

Stir Then Squeeze is a 2012 iF Design Talents entry.

Impossible Instant Lab iPhone photo booth hands-on (video)

Life's hard when you're an analog enthusiast in the early 21st century. Thankfully, however, you're not alone in this world -- there are fellow travelers like the folks behind The Impossible Project, folks who bought a Polaroid factory to continue production on the company's famed instant film. As we noted roughly a week ago, the company's also launched a Kickstarter to create an iPhone-friendly gadget to go along with it. It's since handily met its goal and is still chugging along at around $440,000 (from a proposed $250,000), with a full 19 days to go. The company also made an appearance on the show floor here at Photokina to show off what its been working on.

The Impossible Instant Lab is still in the prototype stages, as with a number of devices we've seen here today -- though it's fully operational. We got a demo of the thing from one of the folks at Impossible -- just load the film into the rollers on the bottom, extend the old timey accordion top, choose the proper settings in the company's iPhone app and place it in the holder.
