This Tesla Autonomous Lawnmower could potentially help the company improve its driving algorithm!

Before I begin, let me make things clear by saying that it’s entirely possible that Elon Musk could launch a lawnmower one fine day – we’re talking about a guy who’s sold surfboards and flamethrowers to side-hustle money for his business ventures… but today isn’t that day. The Tesla Autonomous Lawnmower is just a fan-made concept that builds on the company’s entire family of technological innovations (but it’s interesting for a few reasons). It runs on a battery that’s powered by solar energy, features sharp blades made from Tesla’s bullet-proof Cybertruck alloy, and uses Tesla’s autopilot algorithm to navigate the lawn, distinguishing between parts of the yard that are already mowed and parts that aren’t, and actively recognizing and avoiding obstacles like people, lawn furniture, or your unsuspecting pet.

The Tesla G (that’s what designer Prokop Strnka calls it) concept is basically an outdoor lawn-trimming Roomba. It runs autonomously, driving in lines around your garden, trimming the grass but avoiding your prize rose shrubbery or your microgreens nursery. The lawnmower relies on a version of Tesla’s autopilot algorithm to actively scan and sense its environments as it drives through tall grass. Sensors on the mower can help detect the difference between grass and plants, and can actively map out your lawn so the mower doesn’t end up crossing over the cobblestone onto the road, or your neighbor’s property. The mower runs on solar power, but when it’s low on juice and it’s relatively dark out, it scoots over to its wireless-charging hub to quickly juice up its battery.

Conceptually, the self-driving lawnmower is a great way to help Tesla perfect its cars’ self-driving AI through machine learning. The lawnmower works in practically the same conditions as the car, albeit on grass instead of asphalt. It doesn’t detect traffic lights, but it does practice staying within lanes (or lawns), and actively scans for obstacles like a foot or furniture or your pet’s tail. It’s a perfect way to allow the AI to get better, without the risk of certain death and potentially disastrous damage to cities. In fact, Tesla should launch a version of the Roomba too. It just seems like a great idea, especially given the fact that people are spending more time at home now, and that cars are just idly sitting in garages.

The iRobot Terra is a Roomba For Your Lawn

I don’t know about you but I really hate mowing the lawn. I’d rather be inside in the air conditioning, relaxing. Well, it looks like iRobot has finally unveiled a robot for lawn mowing that is like the Roomba you use inside your home.

The iRobot Terra robotic lawnmower is designed to perform the chore for you. All you have to do is charge it, set up the wireless beacons around your yard, connect it to the phone app, and let it do its thing. It goes into its charging dock when it needs some juice. It likely won’t cut very thick and tall grass since it is small and just has a small electric motor, but if you already keep your lawn well maintained it will likely do the trick.

It looks pretty easy to use and the best part is that while this thing is mowing your lawn, you can be relaxing inside watching TV or reading a good book. I say reading a good book, but honestly, I’m going to get sucked into binge watching cat videos. Again.

The iRobot Terra robotic lawn mower will be available in Germany soon, and then there will be a beta program in the US later this year.

Manmower: The wacky, innovative stubble shaver inspired by the lawnmower!

manmower_1

The Manmower is one of those absolutely ludicrous products that’s also sheer genius. Conceptually, it’s a lawnmower for your jawline. An internal blade slices away at your facial hair, leaving just a casual, badass stubble behind, just like the lawnmower slices the grass in your lawn to a short, uniform length. The Manmower needs no electricity, no shaving cream, no water, and no prep. Just pull it out of your pocket and roll it across your jawline (you could practically do this in public too) and the Manmower cuts away at your beard, giving you a uniform stubble in no time. You don’t need water, cream, gel, or any sort of extra paraphernalia. Just the Manmower, an unkempt beard, and some free time!

The Manmower is entirely crafted from surgical-grade stainless steel and comes with an outer casing and an internal blade that trap and shear facial hair (you can use it on your head too, for a nice, manual buzz cut). Just like a lawnmower simply works on the grass without touching the soil, the Manmower trims only the hair without touching the skin underneath. The entire product is designed to work without any cream or gel, and can be simply rinsed under running water when done shaving. A simple 5 minute ritual not only trims your beard, it also massages your skin, and gives you a fidget-toy-esque activity to keep your hands occupied. Strap it on your keychain and carry it around with you as EDC, or slip it into your toiletries bag to carry on travels and trips. The Manmower will be the craziest, most unusual self-grooming tool you’ll ever own!

A retro lowriding lawnmower!

lil_scalper_1

I can’t take my eyes off how amazingly antiquated this lawnmower looks! This personal DIY project by a mysteryman named Jeep2003 on the internet pulled off this lawnmower revamp, giving it a beautiful retro finish, complete with a chrome trim, bullet taillights, and what I can’t get enough of, a miniature Army Man figurine painted silver to look like what I imagine is the Spirit of Ecstacy remixed! Plus would you look at that mini fuel tank on the back!?

I wonder if it sounds like a vintage automobile too!

Let the sun mow your lawn!

aurinco_mower_1

Well, the sun won’t actually mow your lawn, but it’ll definitely power the lawnmower. The Aurinco lawnmower merges manpower with solar power to provide the optimally energy-intensive lawn-mowing experience. The mower is a hand-pushed machine, but the blades and motors are powered by solar panels that sit out on the top of the lawnmower’s body.

The design of the mower features a folding handle, allowing it to be stored easily. There’s even provision for powering the lawnmower via electricity, in case the sky happens to be overcast… or you live north of the arctic circle. Neat, isn’t it??

Kobi Robot Looks Like a Batmobile, Does All Your Yard Work

Forget robotic lawnmowers. They only do part of the job. What we need is something that looks like a Batmobile and can mow grass, mulch leaves, and remove snow. That’s the Kobi Garden Robot. This amazing machine will maintain lawns and gardens all year long.

kobi_robot_1

The robot will first make a digital map of the area so you will have to show it your property boundaries and so forth. Once you do, it will use that digital map, along with GPS and safety sensors, to find its way around your place and do it’s thing. Kobi can perform daily maintenance on your property, so your grass will always be perfectly trimmed, leaves mulched. During the snowy season, it does the same thing, removing every small amount of snow it finds. It actually uses real-time weather reports to know if it’s snowing.

kobi_robot_2

This looks like a pretty handy yard robot. It is still in the consumer testing phase, but when it is ready for lawns everywhere, it will cost $3,999(USD). So I guess rich people’s lawns will be immaculate. If you can afford one, you will never have to cut grass or remove snow again.

The Dustbuster of Lawnmowers!

brushmaster_01

Say you’ve got a small yard but it’s not quite large enough for a full size lawnmower… you’re pretty much confined to using a string trimmer but then you’ve gotta deal with all the clippings! The Brushmaster is an intermediate solution that combines a cutting system with a vacuum motor to both clip and clean up your lawn. Wireless and rechargeable with a dedicated dock, users can hand groom their grass in a similar fashion to a dustbuster vacuum! When you’re finished, simply press the quick-release button to easily dispose of yard clippings.

Guy Throws Spray Paint Cans into Lawnmower, Makes Art and Fire

Some artists sculpt with their hands, some chisel stone, others paint with brushes. Uncle Rob paints on canvas by throwing cans of spray paint into spinning lawnmower blades. What could possibly go wrong?

lawnmower_1zoom in

Whether you call him an idiot Picasso or a dumb-ass Van Gogh, there is one thing you can’t deny. His masterpieces all end up in a blazing ball of fire that leaves nothing but a burnt wooden frame on the easel.

Some people are saying that the explosion was set up with a hidden blow torch. I don’t even care, because art that ends in a fireball is the best kind of art. The guy holding the mower gets points for thinking that a Darth Vader mask is adequate protection.
