DIY LEGO Lunchbox Kit: For Brick Building Emergencies

LEGO is an awesome way to build just about anything. It’s why we love these bricks so much. But even hardcore LEGO fans can sometimes find themselves without their bricks. Well, that won’t happen with this DIY LEGO Kit. Now you and your kids can always have LEGO blocks with you.

This portable LEGO kit is perfect for kids and adults. And it is easy to make. Just get a lunchbox, cut some LEGO baseplates, and felt to fit. A few dabs of hot glue later, and you’re ready to go. Just load it up with bricks, and bring the LEGO lunchbox with you on road trips, picnics or anywhere that has a LEGO void to fill.

You can find the instructions here. Go ahead and build one or three of these, because you should never be without LEGO.

The Intelligent Lunchbox

prepd_01

Prepd Pack is an entirely new take on the humble lunchbox! More than just a container, it’s a smart system that not only considers how we eat lunch, but also the process of planning and preparation with the addition of a Prepd App. Slim and lightweight, it’s made from laser etched sustainable Bamboo, durable plastic and premium molded silicone, providing an elevated experience. The modular containers are made from a premium food safe material and can be put in freezer or the microwave. They are also totally leak-proof so users can feel safe taking their lunch to work, the gym, or outdoors.

The Prepd App allows users to browse ‘make at home’ recipes and meal plans created to fit the containers perfectly. The recipes are designed by nutritionists and chefs and can be cooked for multiple days quickly in one sitting by design. The app also outputs customized shopping lists that takes the guesswork out of what and how much to purchase, reducing food and packaging waste in the process.

The Prepd App automatically knows what users eat based upon the recipe that they’ve cooked and uses this data to quantify what has been consumed automatically. This data is visualized in the app to give meaningful feedback about the user’s diet. Integration with Health kit centralizes the information, storing the user’s health and fitness data in one place.

Snack Packs for Snack Attacks

Snack Packs are a snackers best bet for keeping two snacktime favorites together. The first is a jacket for your banana that keeps its contents and other items in your bag protected in the event of a smash! The other is a silicone snap band that wraps around yogurt containers to keep the lid closed and a spoon handy. Each is made of flexible, washable silicone so you can easily wrap them up and clean after use!

LEGO Lunchbox is Perfect for Square Meals

LEGO fans that like to take lunch to work or school in something other than a paper bag need to check this out. A lunchbox is on the market that looks just like a giant LEGO brick. It’s rectangular and looks like a 2×4 block. Just because its rectangular doesn’t mean you can’t fit a square meal inside.

These are official LEGO products and are made from BPA-free polypropylene. The box measures 3.9″ x 7.8″ and are 3″ deep on the outside with an interior 2.25″ deep, making it perfect for a box lunch, or storing some of your LEGO bricks.

You can even put it the dishwasher. The only real downside is that the box isn’t microwave safe. It also seems that the lid just slips on or off making it easy to spill. The box is offered in red or blue colors and you don’t get to choose the color. You can pick one up at ThinkGeek now for $14.99(USD).

Dexter Lunchbox Looks Bloody Good

Ok, so it’s officially being called a “tin tote,” but I’d totally bring my lunch to school or work in this Dexter lunchbox if I didn’t work from home.

dexter tin tote lunchbox

Bif Bang Pow! will be releasing this Dexter tote just in time for San Diego Comic-Con – and for the final season of the show. It’s modeled after Dexter’s window air conditioner and even comes with a wooden slide tray and “blood” slides. It also comes with a posable 3-3/4″ tall Dexter action figure, complete with blood spattered shirt (he’d never be so sloppy), an ID badge and a camera. As a bonus, it includes a talking keychain which repeats phrases from the show.

You can pre-order the Dexter tin tote/lunchbox over at Entertainment Earth for $49.99(USD).

Bento Box on a Daily Basis

I love steam-cooking food and if you keep scores with Masterchef (or Hell’s Kitchen) you soon realize that ‘keeping it simple’, is always the winning dish. Adding to the simplicity is this Bento Box portable steamer and lunchbox. In one clean sweep you get to cook a delicious healthy meal that stays fresh and vibrant. The box uses induction cooking elements and steams water through the course of the body. Different parts of the meal like vegetables, protein, and grains are separated into various containers for easy cooking.

Bento heats up the assembly’s base using inductive technology, creating steam from water added to the grains in the bottom container. The steam naturally rises up the assembly, simultaneously cooking the grains as well as the contents of the top two containers. The double-walled containers act like a thermos and keep the contents warm. It also features a built-in timer, which allows it to be programmed to begin cooking at a desired time.
