This 3D-printed protector lets you shift your plants between nurseries without damaging the roots
I assume the word ‘transplant’ had something to do with plants to begin with, which makes it a pretty fitting word to describe what the Roots Protector does… it helps with transplanting. Printed using PLA bio-filament, the Roots Protector is a tiny sapling-container that helps plants grow into the soil but prepares them for being uprooted and replanted. The protector, which acts as a cage that the plant’s roots grow through, helps gardeners uproot plants safely, by letting you directly lift them off in a way that doesn’t damage the plant’s base. The protector comes with an upper lip that one can hold while pulling up, and a mesh base that safeguards the plant’s primary roots from damage. Once transplanted, the PLA polymer begins biodegrading in a matter of 2-3 months as the plant grows older. By the time the plant’s completely grown, the protector will have completely broken down and decomposed into natural matter.
The Roots Protector is a winner of the iF Design Award for the year 2020.

Mario Kart 8 Nursery: Baby Park
Wes of Geeksmithing would take a blue shell for his baby Grant. But since his son isn’t old enough to play yet, Wes brought Mario Kart 8 to Grant’s room.
Wes painted Grant’s room with characters and places from Mario Kart.
He also made a mobile that has Mario Kart Happy Meal toys dangling from it. Naturally, a Lakitu holds the mobile above Grant’s crib.
The highlight of the nursery is Mario, who’s hanging upside down on his kart. Wes made the sculpture out of foam and resin.
Check out Wes’ time-lapse video and his gallery below for more on how he made the nursery.
Awesome work Wes! May you and your family be eternally guarded by triple bananas. Check out Wes’ website for his Legend of Zelda and Yoshi’s Island nurseries.

LOST Themed Baby Nursery Still Doesn’t Sufficiently Explain the Polar Bear
Fans of LOST may not have liked the ending, but for the most part, it was a great groundbreaking series. It was a fascinating show during the first few seasons. Now you can get your kid into this show too, with a LOST themed nursery. Better late than never, I suppose.
This fun nursery comes from the M&J Collection. The collection features LOST bedding, an Oceanic Airline mobile, a stuffed polar bear, and even Dharma Initiative baby food. No black smoke monster though. You don’t want to scare your child after all.
Let’s be honest, this is more for the parents than the baby, but any excuse will do to have a LOST themed room. It looks amazing.

May Tot’s Force Be With You: Star Wars Themed Baby Nursery
Nothing beats having the Force protect your little newborn. Of course, you can’t have Luke and the whole gang come and babysit, but you can bring a little part of their world into your home and into the life of your baby by doing what Ireland-based photographer Carissa XY did: build a Star Wars-themed nursery.
From the framed photo of Harrison Ford on the wall to the Death Star and Starship mobile, I’m sure her kid will thank her one day for letting him grow up with the Force on his side.
