This titanium multitool nails the basics

The James Brand was established for the pure reason that there are some problems that involve getting your hands dirty. Some solutions involve having the right tool on you and the Halifax was designed to be a solution to some pretty basic problems. Its simplistic design comes machined from a single titanium billet, and has a design that’s easy to hold, store, and even operate.

The Halifax comes with three rather rudimentary functions that you’re bound to require a tool for. A flathead screwdriver on the front lets you loosen or tighten screws on your gadgets and outdoor equipment, while its solid titanium construction even lets you use it as a scraper, taking tough coatings off surfaces like a knife moving through butter… all without getting a single scratch. Right underneath the tool also lies a bottle-opener with a rather interesting cap-holding design detail that stands out in its chrome finish.

Bottle Opener that Puts your Barkeep to Shame

The Cap Snap asks the question, why use two hands to open one bottle when you could use two hands to open TWO bottles?!

The simple water-jet cut piece of metal weighs a meager 11 grams and can be placed in your pocket strung along your key-chain. When needed, the Cap Snap can be operated single-handedly by just placing it on top of a regular bottle cap and with the simple push down on the lever that extends off the top. ONEOVERSIX Can Open Six Beers At Once

How many beers can you open at once? One, maybe two? What are you, a sucker? Think about all the valuable minutes of your life your wasting by opening one beer at a time. You could be using that time to spend with family, or reading more OhGizmo!.

Thankfully, someone made a beer opener that’s the size of a pizza peel (that’s the actual name of the large paddle they use for pizza, who knew?), that can open up to six beers at once. It’s called the SIXOVERONE and It’s designed to fit a standard six-pack of bottles, so you can have your buds ready before anyone has time to second-guess that next beer.

It’s a cool idea, but I’m just not sure how well a stamped piece of metal can hold up against six under-pressure bottles of beer, like from a physics standpoint. Of course, I don’t know how much force is required to remove a bottlecap and whether the force required grows exponentially as the number of bottlecaps increases.

Available on Kickstarter for $25. But seriously, it’s called a pizza peel? All my life I’ve been calling it a paddle.

Open Your Bottles with a Beetle

I don’t know what it is about horned beetles, but I find them quite creepy. I think it must have been that scene from The Mummy where one crawled under the guy’s skin, or when thousands come crawling out of the ground in The Mummy Returns. Yep, that must be it. But if you’re not creeped out by these creatures, then you might be interested in this bottle opener.

Made by Fred, the Bottle Beetle looks just like an horned stag beetle, but in this case, it’s made of gold-tone zinc alloy, and capable of popping open a cold brew with its mighty horns.

A bottle opener for champions

I never thought something as ubiquitous as the bottle opener needed redesigning. The GrOpener proved me wrong for sure. The video above goes to demonstrate how incredibly easy it is to open a bottle with just a single hand, without bending the cap, or have it flying off in a random direction once it pops open.

The GrOpener (Grab+Opener) is designed specifically for single handed use. Making things easy for both abled as well as disabled people, the GrOpener sits comfortably on a bottle top and pops it open with an unbelievably easy trigger action. The GrOpener’s design makes sure the cap isn’t bent or warped in the opening process, while a magnetic piece within the GrOpener catches the cap as soon as it dislodges from the bottle neck. Capboom Cap-firing Bottle Opener: You’ll Shoot Your Eye Out, Kid.

Opening a beer is something that my uncle took pleasure in grossing me out with. He would crack them open using his teeth and I was always sure his teeth would shatter. He literally had a steel plate in his head, and once pulled his own impacted tooth with pliers – and it was the wrong tooth. This bottle opener reminds me of ole Uncle Jimmy because it does strange things with bottle caps.

Simply slip the Capboom over your bottle of beer and smack the longer part. It snaps the cap off the beer with a nice, loud boom, and shoots the cap a long way away from you. I can see people taking caps to the dome during backyard cookouts.

The Capboom will be landing on Kickstarter soon to raise funding. The early bird Capboom will set you back $9 with fancier versions in wood at $25 or aluminum at $32. Check out the video and try not to put your eye out with this thing, Ralphie.

The Throttle Opener: A One-handed Bottle Opener

The Throttle Opener may sound like a part that belongs on a carburetor, but in this case, it is actually a cool new magnetic, one-handed bottle opener. At last we can open bottles with one hand!

It grabs onto your bottle cap and gives you just enough leverage to pop it out with your thumb. That’s it. No fancy technology here. But it is a cool thing to have when you’re drinking beer, you will look so awesome opening bottles with one hand. Then again, anything looks fun to your friends after a few drinks.
