Black Milk’s Latest Collection Looks More Protective Than It Is

Chainmaille looks cool and is very practical if someone is trying to slice you open with a sword. Luckily, that’s not a problem that most people face regularly face, but that leaves chainmaille as a very, very impractical material for daily wear. It’s heavy, makes loud noises when you move, and requires you to don a gambeson underneath to prevent chafing. Nobody likes chafing.

Black Milk, a company best known for making R2D2 one-piece swimsuits, is now offering a line of chainmaille-printed clothing. You can opt for one of two dresses, leggings, a skirt with suspenders, a pair of shorts, or a one-piece swimsuit. All the items are made from the same synthetic, stretch material that the company always uses, and I think it should do a very good job of protecting the wearer from (foam) swords, (Nerf brand) arrows, and (imaginary) halberds. My only problem is that I’m a dude, and none of this would be remotely attractive or acceptable on me.

Virtual Fashion is Here

This Fits Me is a collaborative project that combines fashion with generative design, a technique most often used in architecture to make structures not static, but dynamic to adjust to the environment. Similarly, this digital process allows garments to adjust to the wearer. After a 3D body scan, the wearer’s precise measurements are applied to an algorithm so material can be laser cut & stitched for fitting. In just a few clicks, complex designs can be created that would otherwise be too time consuming to measure & manufacture. Vid after the jump!

Han Solo is a dude; we all know that as much as we know Han shot first. Ladies out there that like Han and want to dress up without breaking out the pants should check out this dress. It’s a Han Solo A-Line Dress and you could totally wear this to Comic-Con without looking so weird getting there.

The dress is screen printed from what we can tell and is made from 95% cotton and 5% spandex. It is printed with Han’s trusty vest and crossed gun belts and it is made in the USA. It comes from Her Universe and is officially licensed Lucasfilm gear, and dress is available in sizes S-XXXL.

Clearly, the first person who says, “I love that dress” has to be met with the “I know” response. The coolest part about this dress is that all the accessories are printed on so it’s one-stop cosplay. You can pick the dress up now at ThinkGeek for $44.99(USD).

The iPhone Dress: iDress Like No Other

Apple is in the spotlight once again after the announcement of the iPhone 6 and their upcoming smartwatch. The brand also made an appearance at New York Fashion Week, although it wasn’t Tim Cook doing the presenting.

Instead, it was designer Elie Tahari with his iPhone dress.

The luxury fashion designer spared no expense when it came to the iPhone dress. The long black mesh dress was covered in nearly a dozen iPhones (although other reports mention that it was covered in 50!). The phones captured all angles of the event, where Tahari also presented the rest of his collection for next season.

Is the iPhone dress something you would wear? I think the answer is pretty obvious.

This black and white print dress will make you the life of the party. Hopefully it is not a wedding. Yeah, I wouldn’t go to any weddings in Westeros. They like to combine their weddings and funerals.

This dress is made to order, so just realize that the turnaround time is about 8-10 weeks. It will be worth the wait. It will cost you $127.79.

Millennium Falcon Dress Has Got it Where it Counts

OK guys, if your lady has a birthday coming up or if you need to give her something for those times when she won’t wear that Slave Leia bikini you bought her, this is it. This little black dress is covered with tiny stars, and the coolest part of the dress is that it has the Millennium Falcon on the side.

You can pick up your own A-line Millennium Falcon dress for $39.99(USD), which is a bargain if you ask me. The dress comes in sizes small through XXL for and is made from 95% polyester and 5% spandex, which also happens to be what the actual Millennium Falcon is held together with.

This Dress Has Every Single Pokémon on It

This is one sexy dress for anyone who wants to be a Pokémon master mistress. This $95(USD) Pokémon Skater Dress from Poprageous will be all the rage this season. It is said to feature every single Pokemon that ever was on it’s fabric.

If that is true then congratulations, you have caught them all. I have no idea if they are all really there or not. I just know that this skater dress is so low that I can almost see your Ash. Which is fine because I really wanted to get a Pikachu. Ok, I’ll stop now.

$95(USD) is a great price when you consider all of the Pocket Monsters on this thing. No pockets, but plenty of monsters.

The Urban Armor Dress Protects Your Personal Space

The Urban Armor Dress designed by Kathleen McDermott will protect your personal space if people get too close. It has two proximity detectors that make the dress expand outward like an umbrella if somebody is standing too close. It is the “leave me the hell alone” dress.

When their presence is no longer detected, it closes back up again and it looks like a (somewhat) normal dress. I hope it doesn’t malfunction and raise the dress all the way up. That would be very embarrassing.

Basically this is a dress for princesses who can’t bear to stand too close to us peasants. Such ladies need like twice the personal space we minions need. They also need rescuing all the time, so they aren’t all that.

Death Star Gown: The Ultimate Power in the Fashion Universe

This image comes from the Badlands Garrison of the 501st Legion, who Tweeted this picture from their booth at the recent Calgary Comic & Entertainment Expo. I’m sure everyone was having fun until some woman with an Alderaan dress came up to the booth. Needless to say, only one of them walked away.

Its maker and model, Deathstargirl, looks menacing wearing the ultimate power in the universe. The outer layer of gray is actually double layered and there are 900 foam tiles on it, 250 LED lights, and 12ft of EL wire. This thing must be pretty heavy. It also takes 9 “D” batteries to power the lights.

That Star Destroyer? It is a handbag. Awesome stuff – assuming you aren’t Alderaan.
