The Mood Maker

Print

The first of its kind, Hieko is an all-in-one solution for taking you from stress to serenity! Using a clever combination of tech, it taps into your visual, auditory and olfactory senses to lighten your mood.

First and foremost, it’s pretty… and pretty things make you feel good. Its shape is that of an elegant flower vase and features intricate details on the exterior that mimic the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold called Kintsugi. Furthermore, a holographic system displays a variety of holographic arrangements to match the aroma you select.

Second, the aromatic feature brings soothing, natural scents into your living space. Choose from a number of interchangeable aroma cartridges that each contain multiple scents. Then, use the gestural control interface of the vase (or just use your smartphone app) to cycle through and choose your desired aroma of the moment.

Lastly, a mood enhancer wouldn’t be complete without music! A built in Bluetooth speaker connects you to your favorite playlists and songs to wake you up, brighten your day, or help you wind down!

Incredible Intangible Infrastructure!

goethe_house_1

Here’s an interesting thought. What if you had multiple projectors pointing at each other, would the projections form a 3D object?? If there were smoke in the air, or mist, very much so! That’s probably one of the many ways of creating a hologram. The Goethe House is something right out of a sci-fi novel. Envisioned as an entirely holographic piece of architecture, this complete building with four levels of floor plans is just something to fool your eyes. Try opening the door… It isn’t there. You can see the staircase, but can’t walk up it. Mind-bending, no?

Projected on a steam cloud, this piece of figurative architecture can change and morph, bending realms as you know them. Just think of a future where complete landscapes are regenerated to show you what our world looked like in the past, or will in the future! *shudders*

The Disappearing Screen is Here

Remember the old rear-projection TV your grandparents had? The HTD -01 Concept is based on this outdated technology, but uses state-of-the-art techniques of transparency and holography. An LED projector integrated in the stand beams at a 4mm transparent acrylic display coated with an advanced foil that picks up the light. When it’s off the clear material leaves your room light and open without the eyesore of a large opaque monitor!

Tupac hologram performs at Coachella, keeps all eyez on him

Have you been getting a kick out of Coachella's jams and arts in Indio, California? Or, did you decide to peacefully enjoy it from home via YouTube's site? Either way, you may have heard Tupac made an on-stage holographic appearance over the weekend, performing Hail Mary and 2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted alongside Snoop Dogg. Tupac's hologram was made possible by AV Concepts in partnership with Dr. Dre's production company and Digital Domain, after reportedly working on the project for a few months. The outfits used a display technology dubbed "Eyeliner" that, with the help of a custom rig and a mechanical solution, was able to shoot out a life-sized, 3D illusion of Mr. Shakur onto the Coachella platform. Don't believe us? Hit 'em up at the source below, though we feel compelled to tell you language isn't exactly for all ages.
