Fold is gold!

As pretty as a picture, the Fold Pendant Lamp uses origami and repetitive geometry to charm, and to hypnotize. Made out of wool, the structure uses a series of bends and folds to create a pattern that looks stunning regardless of whether the light is on or not, making it a decorative piece in the day, and an absolutely beautiful light-source post sunset.

Made for Scandinavian retail company, Northern, the Fold is designed to complement minimal homes with its almost-centeripece-ish style. The lamp, available in three pastel hues, comes made from wool (a result of several years of experimentation and development, making it a unique hybrid of hand-craftsmanship and fibre innovation), that not only diffuses the light beautifully, but also acts as a sound absorbing panel, allowing you to have a nice, peaceful, well-lit zen-spot right under the lamp.

Celebrate Blade Runner 2049 with This Origami Unicorn Silver Pendant

I’ve yet to see the Blade Runner 2049, but everyone is saying it’s a pretty incredible movie. Given the fact that the original Blade Runner is one of my favorite films of all time (despite its flaws), I can’t want to see how Denis Villenueve’s long-awaited sequel turned out.

Fans of the original Blade Runner know that Gaff (Edward James Olmos) liked to make little origami animals, most significantly, the unicorn that is representative of Rick Deckard’s mysterious past. While you could certainly fold your own paper unicorn, this sterling silver version is much, much cooler. It’s made by AllegroArts and is a dead ringer for the origami unicorn from Ridley Scott’s original 1982 film. Each one is handmade from folded sheets of fine silver, and comes on either a 18″ or 24″ sterling chain.

The pendant is priced at $85 to $90 (USD) in AllegroArts’ Etsy shop, and as of this writing, they only have one left in stock, so you’d better faster than Pris can do gymnastics if you want one.

How to Make an Origami Millennium Falcon

Sure, she may be made of paper and is susceptible to fire. Sure, she can be crushed easily, but this Millennium Falcon origami ship can deliver some killer paper cuts to the Empire. She’s a fast ship alright, but fast to build? That’s up to you and your paper folding skills.

However long it takes you, making this origami version of Han Solo’s ship is going to be a fun project. Once you are finished with your folding, just put on the finer details with a pen and boom, you have your own Corellian space freighter.

Just follow this guide and you will feel like you work in a spaceship building factory.
