gb Pocket: The World’s Most Compact Folding Stroller

Anyone who has kids knows that strollers are huge and bulky accessories that are generally a pain in the butt. They are big, heavy and hard to get into tight spaces. All of that changes with the gb Pockit Compact Stroller, which holds the Guinness Book of World Record’s title for most compact stroller.

In just two steps, this unique stroller folds up into a compact, feather-light, handbag shaped package. It weighs only 9.5 lb., but this stroller holds babies sized 10 lb. to 55 lb. When folded, the stroller measures just 11.8″ x 7″ x 13.8″. That can fit in a large bag or under an airline seat.

It sells for $250 (USD), but that price is well worth it to parents. This design makes life with a stroller much easier.

Who knew! A Stroller Can Be Sexy!

graco_01

I’m not a parent and therefore can subjectively say that I have YET to see a stroller that looks anywhere near “good.” Until now! This conceptual expansion of the Graco family of strollers is exceptional in the aesthetics department. In fact, its design language is more akin to that of a German sports car than any stroller I’ve seen. Dare I say, it’s BMW-esque?

ICYMI: The death-proof car, rat gambling addiction and more

Today on In Case You Missed It: Volvo just pledged to build a 'deathproof' automobile by 2020 that will include adaptive cruise control and pedestrian detection. By 'deathproof,' it means unless you are crazy stupid (ie: Go flying off the Golden Ga...

Volkswagen’s Stroller Automatically Brakes & Follows: Das Kinderwagen

We’ve seen a robotic stroller that can drive itself. Volkswagen Netherlands claims it came up with a similar project just for kicks.

The project was accidentally inspired by a short VW commercial. In the ad, a woman complains that a stroller doesn’t have obstacle detection like her VW car. A Facebook commenter pointed out that such a stroller would actually be cool, so VW went to work. But they also added (or so they say) part of a VW Golf’s cruise control to make the stroller follow and maintain a set distance from a person.

That adaptive cruise control system needs to be in all cars. And strollers.

Baby’s safe day out

k_stroller

The Strollever may look like a baby stroller from Tron or Oblivion, but it’s just a humble little tot carriage designed to keep your earthling safe and sound.

The highlight of the Strollever is its gyroscope suspension system. No matter what terrain you travel on, your baby always remains safe and upright. Coupled with features like UV resistant glass, headlamps, storage, and hub-less wheels, this pram is like a Bentley for your little one!

Batmobile Baby Stroller: For Your Little BatBaby

Batmobile baby stroller

He’s your little superhero, and nothing anyone says will change your mind. Of course we’re talking about none other than your offspring because yes, parents can be biased that way.

If you happen to be a creative dad who’s up for DIY projects that’ll make your kid grin from ear-to-ear, then you can take a page from Tim Baker’s book. Obviously being a pro prop designer for Hollywood means that he’s got skills most dads don’t, but that doesn’t mean you can’t build your own little Batmobile stroller (but you might need the help of your able-bodied friends and SO, too.)

The Tumbler Batmobile stroller won’t be able to shoot at targets or run at full speed, but it’ll make your kid feel as super as he (or she) already is. You can find more info about it here.

Awesome Batmobile Baby Stroller: The Dark Tot

The folks behind the web series Super-Fan Builds are back with another crazy build. This time, some lucky Bat-kid got a kick-ass Batmobile Tumbler stroller. Previously, the guys built a Groot swing and a Hobbit Hole catbox, but I think this is much cooler. Now when he sees Baby Bane at the playground, this kid will be ready.

Josh Earl is the ultimate Batman super-fan. His son Collin even likes to sing the Batman theme song, so they decided to build a Batmobile for Collin, aka “the luckiest kid ever.” They modeled it after the Tumbler version from Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy. This thing is every baby’s dream. Heck, I’m not a baby and I’m jealous.

It isn’t foldable, but hey what do you expect? You have to sacrifice some practicality if you’re going to look as cool as Batman.

Doctor Who TARDIS Stroller: Younger on the Inside

Doctor Who fans with small drooling humans need a stroller like this to push their offspring around in. I mean, you and your young companion have to travel in style, right?

tardis strollermagnify

This TARDIS stroller is not bigger on the inside, but it is likely wetter after a long stroll. This awesome baby buggy was made by Twitter user Vanja Vinter. It looks great.

And here I thought that the Doctor’s companions couldn’t get any younger. I guess they can, because this is literally robbing the cradle. You’ve gone too far this time Doctor. Small children do not want to hang out with you and it really makes you look… a bit creepy. Might as well hang out the TARDIS door and offer kids candy. Hey, isn’t that how you got Rose to come along?

Convertible Piv-O Stroller Grows with Your Child

Babies are expensive. Not the actual babies (of course, nobody goes shopping for babies. And if they do, that’s illegal) but the cost of raising them and providing them with not only their needs, but their wants as well.

Strollers are a must-have for every parent, unless they can carry their child for hours on end when they’re out and about. As with most gear that’s made for kids, your child will outgrow the stroller in a matter of years. If you want more bang for your buck, then you should check out the Piv-O stroller.

The Piv-O Stroller was designed by Luis Pereira Twist. It’s a convertible stroller that can later be transformed into a walker and then a tricycle, which means you’ll be able to use it for the majority of your child’s early years.

The bad news? It’s still a concept design for now, but hopefully someone out there will pick up on it.
