Upholstered TARDIS Bench

This TARDIS bench provides a comfortable seat for both Time Lords and non time-travelling humans – or any species that has a butt and needs to rest their feet or other appendages.

It looks great with the exploding TARDIS fabric on top. Allofthefrosties posted the design to Imgur recently and you can see the whole process from beginning to end. The bench itself was actually free, since it was left in Allofthefrosties home when they moved in. Since the previous owner never came back for it, free TARDIS bench.

It just took some wood glue, paint, dowels, rubber cement, foam and fabric. There may be an Eye of Harmony in there too.

TARDIS Snack Cabinet, It’s Tastier on the Inside

Craftster forum user BadWolf314 of Boise, ID is a Whovian and when her husband wanted his own soda machine for their home, she was more than happy to oblige in the form of a TARDIS so that it matched their movie room. The end result is a TARDIS snack cabinet. A place for Jammie Dodgers as well as fish fingers and custard.

The body is mostly plywood and MDF. Puck lights were used to light the interior. It stands at about 5’6″ tall. And even though it isn’t your standard soda machine, there is a small refrigerator and a microwave in there, so it should serve all of their snacking needs – especially on movie night.

As long as it doesn’t de-materialize anyway. I hope they have some bananas in there for the 9th Doctor.

Doctor Who TARDIS Umbrellas: Whovian in the Rain

If you are looking an umbrella to keep you and your companions dry, you can’t go wrong with these Doctor Who TARDIS umbrellas. One features a repeating TARDIS pattern, while the other shows the TARDIS on an alien planet.

These umbrellas have a 23″ wide canopy that opens with a button. Think of them each as a long sonic screwdriver, only their single purpose is to keep you dry. Both are available for pre-order right now. Thankfully they don’t have that silly question mark handle that the 7th Doctor’s umbrella had. These look much better. Stash them in your TARDIS and be prepared for any weather the universe dishes out.

TARDIS Shelving System: The Doctor’s Library

This TARDIS shelving system from Etsy seller birdsmouth is a functional shelving system, but not so much a functional TARDIS. I like the fact that it looks like the TARDIS materialized directly into your wall though. And it brought books!

tardis_bookshelf_1zoom in

This is a nice space spacing solution too. You get a TARDIS and a bookshelf without the full TARDIS footprint. It stands 4.5′ tall and 2′ wide and will hold a ton of your items. It almost does look bigger on the inside.

It has shelving on the TARDIS doors as well. This police box is hand painted, glazed and finished with an oil varnish for an authentic, weathered look. It is based on the 10th Doctor’s police box, and will cost you $1,800(USD).

This TARDIS Actually Flies

It looks like Otto Dieffenbach of Flyguy Promotions is at it again. This time he is flying a Remote Controlled TARDIS. Since he seems to know what he is doing and hasn’t crashed, he actually does a better job than the Doctor.

This TARDIS has BAD WOLF written on the side. This is one of those things you see that make you wonder why we can’t buy one of these for our very own. They would make a fortune selling these. Then again, nerds would be crashing into each other and pretending to regenerate due to their injuries.

There’s a cute bit near the end where the TARDIS and R2-D2 interact. I’m not sure what R2 is saying, but I think he’s ticked off that he can’t go for a ride. Guess we could use some subtitles.

TARDIS Murphy Bed: Catch Some Allons-Zzzzz’s

Murphy beds are great for saving space while still having a place for your guests to crash when they are in town. A Murphy bed that looks like the TARDIS from Doctor Who is even better. Murphy beds are not cheap, so when blogger Stubbs of The Stubby Thumb saw how much they cost, she decided to make her own and it is much better than what you can buy in the store.

How could you not choose to make the bed into the TARDIS? It’s perfect.

While it isn’t an exact match to any of the TARDISes in the series, she had to make it fit the space available. I think she did an awesome job.

The Doctor Approves: Doctor Who Cutlery Set

Doctor Who Cutlery Set

Each Doctor has different preferences when it comes to food, and so does every Whovian. From Jelly Babies and celery to Jammie Dodgers and fish fingers, every Doctor’s got a right to choose what he puts on his plate. That actually applies to everyone, and isn’t limited to grub…in fact, if you’re looking for new cutlery because you broke your plate during the Christmas festivities, then you might want to get this Doctor Who-themed set.

It featured TARDIS right on the plate so you can’t help but stare at it with every bite. The spoon, fork, and knife have the same handle as the Sonic Screwdriver, so that makes them instantly way more awesome than your average cutlery. The set is available for $29.99.

TARDIS Engagement Ring Box

If you are ready to take the plunge and commit to your geeky beloved, you’ll want to present the engagement ring in just the right box. And what box could be better than the Doctor’s Police Box? Ask her, “Will you travel with me through time and space?” How could she resist?

This nicely detailed TARDIS engagement ring box will allow you to propose in style. It’s made out of Baltic birch wood and painted with high quality acrylic paints. It is very sturdy and light. It even has an LED and circuit inside for the TARDIS light, that can be switched on and off. The battery can last up to a week if left on.

It’s only $59.50(USD) from Etsy seller Wedthegeek.

TARDIS Hoodie is Geekier on the Outside

Fans of Doctor Who who also want to stay nice and toasty this winter will love the latest geeky hoodie from ThinkGeek. The hoodie is a TARDIS police box in the same blue color that you expect a TARDIS to be covered in.

tardis hood 1magnify

The hoodie might be billed as a costume, but let’s face it, Whovians can wear this all the time. It’s made from 60% cotton and 40% polyester and zips up the front. That means you won’t mess your hair, as you will with a pullover hoodie, taking it on and off.

It has kangaroo pockets on the front and a plain back. It is machine washable and you can add one to your closet for $49.99(USD). You can purchase the hoodie in S-3XL sizes. This looks much better to me than the homemade Doctor Who hoodies we have seen in the past.

11th Doctor Who TARDIS 1:6 Scale Model: Smaller on the Outside

Doctor Who may be on its Twelfth Doctor, but with Matt Smith’s memorable run, the Eleventh Doctor is still dear to many Whovians. It’s no wonder many fans have been requesting Big Chief Studios to make a scale model of the last Time Lord’s ride.

The 1:6 scale model has various lights, an opening door and a backlit control room interior. The toy maker said, “[f]rom selecting the most appropriate wood to achieve an accurate scaled grain effect, to the lantern that adorns the roof, every detail has been carefully reproduced.”

Considering the attention to detail and the fact that Big Chief Studios’ toys typically cost several hundred dollars, expect this TARDIS to whisk your money to another dimension. Keep an eye on Big Chief Studios’ website for pre-order details.
