Casio G-SHOCK Avengers Watch Collection: Time Assemble!

If you feel like you need more Avengers in your life after Endgame, Casio has your back. I mean your wrist. As long as you are in China anyway. I’m not sure why this isn’t happening in the US. Hey, we love the Avengers here.

The official Casio G-SHOCK Avengers Collection consists of three custom Avengers-themed G-SHOCK timepieces, each inspired by the most iconic superheroes of the team like Captain America, Iron Man, and Spider-Man. The top three, baby!

Each watch has the colors synonymous to the character but they also have printed details on the straps too, and a character logo engraved on the case back. And each has custom packaging too. Captain America and Iron Man are the GA-110 model each in their own respective colors, while Spidey is based on the DW-5600 model.

The Casio G-Shock Avengers Collection can be found at G-Shock Store Shanghai and G-Shock Store Beijing where Cap and Iron Man go for 1,590 yuan each (~$230 USD), while Spidey sells for 1,190 yuan (~$172 USD). These watches look damn good. This is likely to be a highly collectible line of watches, so if you can get one imported from China, you should go for it.

PS4 Controller Alarm Clock: Eat, Drink, and Sleep Video Games

I know what you really want to do is sit around all day on your PS4 and play the hunting simulator known as Red Dead Redemption 2. If you have other stuff to do like work or school, and you need to get up on time, you might as well do it with the PlayStation “This is for the Dreamers” alarm clock.

The clock is basically a replica of a PlayStation 4 DualShock controller with a digital clock face where the touchpad usually goes. It also displays the date, and has alarm functionality. You’ll need a USB power adapter a computer with a spare USB port to power it up.

You can pre-order yours now at Merchoid for $35.99. The alarm clock is expected to ship in May. Or you could just take an old PS4 controller and glue a cheap clock to the useless touchpad.

CASIO G-SHOCK Gundam Collection Puts a Mech on Your Wrist

Gundam fans have some sweet new collectables, and they look amazing. This collection of Gundam-themed G-SHOCK watches from CASIO are made to celebrate Gundam’s 40th anniversary. Can you believe the mech franchise been around for four decades?

There are four watches in the series, each with colors and designs inspired by Gundam, including RX-78-2 Gundam, MS-06S Char’s Zaku II, RX-0 Unicorn Gundam, and RX-0 Unicorn Gundam 02 Banshee.

Aside from good looks, each of these watches comes with a “Haro” storage container with the RX-78-2 Gundam, RX-0 Unicorn Gundam, and RX-0 Unicorn Gundam 02 Banshee in Green Haro while Char’s Zaku in Zaku Red Haro storage. In case you didn’t know, “Haro” is the ball-like robot that can transform from ball to robot.

The Casio G-SHOCK x Gundam Collection will be available on CASIO’s China ecommerce store on Taobao in mid-2019. The RX-78-2 is 1,390 yuan (~$207 USD), Char’s Zaku II is 1,090 yuan ($163 USD), RX-0 Unicorn Gundam is 1,090 yuan (~$163 USD) and the Banshee is 1,690 yuan (~$252 USD).

Aside from looking way cooler, these watches are pretty much the same G-SHOCKs you know already, with all the same features and functionality.

Star Wars Millennium Falcon Pocket Watch: It’s 12:30. I know.

The Millennium Falcon is one of the most iconic ships in the Star Wars universe that was a character in its own right. Han and Chewie flew that ship all over the place and got up to all sorts of scoundrel business in it. If you need to tell time and want to do it with something other than an everyday wrist watch or smartphone, here is the ticket – a Millennium Falcon pocket watch from Accutime.

The image isn’t clear, but I assume the top of the Falcon pops open to reveal the hands of the watch inside. It’s set to ship in April for $15.99. I wouldn’t expect it to keep time all that well for the money, but Star Wars fans will still love it. You can preorder it now at Entertainment Earth.

Alien Xenomorph Clock: Time to Die

If there’s one thing we could all use more of in our lives, it’s xenomorphs. Now, you can keep one proudly displayed on your mantle, with this sweet Alien xenomorph table clock from Bradford Exchange.

The 14″ tall clock features an intricately detailed sculpture of the creepy full-grown monster from the Alien universe, set atop a base inspired by H.R. Giger’s designs for the Nostromo. The red LED clock itself is inspired by the self-destruct countdown clock on the doomed ship. Each one is handpainted, and both the base and top light up for added impact.

The Alien xenomorph clock is priced at $179.99, and available right now from Bradford Exchange, so you don’t even need to wait for any eggs to hatch.

This Synthesizer Fits on Your Wrist

If you want to play your synthesizer on the go and play no matter where you are, there’s no need to lug around that heavy keyboard. Get one like this. An Italian company called Audioweld created this version that is small enough to be worn on your wrist.

The Synthwatch has a functional seven-key keyboard, which seem a little small for most fingers, but its makers insist have been designed to work with any size finger. The keys allow you to create tunes using a companion app for both Android and iOS. A synthesizer this small needs some software help after all. With the app, you can record, access a sequencer, and a library of 200 sounds. Without the app, it just looks like a toy. However, this toy has a titanium grade 5 case, and costs over $500.

Never fear, it also has watch capabilities with an LCD display to tell the time, a rechargeable battery that recharges via USB-C and a splitter cable that has a 3.5 mm jack for hooking it up to an amp or speaker. The video below doesn’t really show how it works, but there is a video on their Kickstarter page that shows a somewhat clumsy prototype in action.

If you’re convinced you need one, you can pre-order one for about $540 (USD). At that price you have to really love synthesizers or novelty watches to take the plunge, but it is pretty darn cool.

If you’re about to accidentally leave your phone somewhere, your watch will give you a warning. It works all of this magic via a Bluetooth connection to your Android or iOS smartphone.

Fully-functional Dick Tracy Bluetooth Watch: It’s Time for Dick

Does anyone even know who Dick Tracy was anymore? Probably not, but they know his watch. Nick Mathis and his brother want to make that watch a reality. So they’re looking for 5,000 people interested in an officially licensed, Bluetooth enabled replica of Dick Tracy’s watch that can make and receive calls. Oh, and it will also tell the time with an analog timepiece.

I like the retro style. It’s a watch on top and a speaker on the bottom. It’s like my grandparents are designing modern gadgets. In a good way. Obviously, it will pair with any Bluetooth-enabled smartphone and it goes with anything, a suit, jeans and a t-shirt, and even a trench coat. If the pieces that backers get really look this good, they should have no problems. It looks just like the comic book version.

If you want to do your part, you can join their Indiegogo mailing list here and get 40% off when the campaign launches. Or you can just buy yourself a smartwatch and forget you ever heard of Dick Tracy. Because you probably never even read any of his comic strips and only know him from that terrible movie with Madonna and Warren Beatty.

We Wish This Rick and Morty Screaming Sun Alarm Was Real

Getting out of bed in the morning to go to work or school sucks. We all know this. What we really want is more sleep and to sit around eating bacon and watching movies all day. If you have to get up, why not do it in the most annoying way possible using this Rick and Morty Screaming Sun Alarm Clock.

When the alarm goes off, the sun rises in the little diorama atop the clock and screams annoyingly until you wake up, or 42 hours straight (whichever comes first). The sun screams and looks just like the annoying sun on one of the planet from The Wedding Squanchers.

Sadly, this thing was merely one of ThinkGeek’s many April Fools Day pranks this year, but maybe if enough Rick and Morty fans beg them, they’ll make it into a real product.
